2007 NBA Draft

24 hours away...

I'm still not convinced that the Blazers are locked on Oden. I' wouldn't be surprised to see us trade down to #2.

What do you expect/hope to see on draft night?

The Miz 06-27-2007 07:10 PM

I hope you guys take Durant or trade with us because as much as I think Durant is going to be a superstar, a small part of me can see him being a bust and I don't see any chance of Oden turning out to be a bust.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-27-2007 08:37 PM

If the Celtics draft Jokim Noah I really can't see myself rooting for the Celtics anymore. I think they are leaning towards that chinese dude tho, or possibly a trade for Shawn Marion so they can be the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs :y:

McLegend 06-27-2007 09:56 PM

I can't wait until the Sixers draft Al Thorton, and then become a winning playoff team in the east.

Seriosuly I'm very exicted for the 07-08 season.

mrslackalack 06-27-2007 10:07 PM

Thornton is a sleeper

mrslackalack 06-27-2007 10:09 PM

I like what Mark Jackson said. ''While Durants a great player, there will be more players like him come and go, you rarely have a talented big man like Oden in every draft''

Its interesting that Oden teams since Middle School have a record 840-16. An Oden team has NEVER lost a home game!

YOUR Hero 06-27-2007 10:33 PM

Big Country Reeves!

Crimson 06-27-2007 11:06 PM

Atlanta should get Conley at 3. I think he'll be pretty damn good..

mrslackalack 06-27-2007 11:20 PM

I believe Conleys gonna be a great NBA player, so will Law and Horford in addition to the big 2.

Buzzkill 06-27-2007 11:36 PM

ESPN just announced that Oden is the pick...

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-27-2007 11:38 PM

Its gonna be like Tim Duncan all over again for the Celtics :(

SammyG 06-28-2007 02:28 AM

Oden, Durant, Conley for top 3.

Evil Vito 06-28-2007 10:12 AM

With the announcement that Oden is gonna be the pick, I bet half the people aren't gonna even bother watching the draft since the biggest storyline isn't there anymore :o (then again, those same people probably would have tuned out as soon as the first pick was announced anyway)

Knicks don't pick till #23. I dunno, don't really see them picking anyone who could make much of an impact that low down the board but you never know. Hopefully whoever Chicago picks at #9 tanks. :(

RP 06-28-2007 11:22 AM

I hope the Pacers get Odom, Bynum and the 19 pick from the Lakers today. THey're saying Acie Law might drop to #22 or 23#

BCWWF 06-28-2007 02:30 PM

As much as the Wolves could use frontcourt help, I am really hoping that Conley falls that far. For it to happen, Atlanta would have to be retarded and take a forward, and likely Memphis as well.

Assuming the Wolves don't trade KG and Conley is gone, I am liking Corey Brewer the most I think. Neither Jeff Green or the whitey from Miz-land seem like guys that will be great in this league.

BCWWF 06-28-2007 02:31 PM

Also, it would be hilarious if Atlanta took the Chinaman.

The Miz 06-28-2007 02:31 PM

The Chinaman is not the issue here, Dude

BCWWF 06-28-2007 02:32 PM

Also, no matter what, if Boston takes the Chinaman, he will be a bust. There is no question about it. I don't think anybody they pick with No. 5 will succeed, just because Danny is a dumbass.

RP 06-28-2007 05:44 PM

I hope the pacers make some sort of trade and get Acie Law.

KingofOldSchool 06-28-2007 06:20 PM

The Pacers will trade JO and our 1st round pick next year to the Hawks for Joe Johnson and the 11th pick this year.

And then mid season they will trade Joe Johnson to the Lakers for Kwame Brown and Radman.

RP 06-28-2007 06:22 PM

And they'll trade te 11th pick for a 4.5 million dollar vetrans option next year.

RP 06-28-2007 06:23 PM

I'm reading that the Pacers are talking with the Nets. O'Neil for Jefferson and Kristic.

KingofOldSchool 06-28-2007 06:25 PM

Just want we need another white guy and another injury case.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-28-2007 07:14 PM

Couple of my boys (one of them is bringing his girlfriend what a pussy) are coming over to watch the draft and get tanked for some reason, WOOOOO

McLegend 06-28-2007 07:34 PM

Wow Seattle is apparently gonna have Kevin Durant and Jeff Green

Crimson 06-28-2007 07:37 PM

Fuck that I dont like that Seattle trade...Ray Allen to Boston for their #5, Szcerbiack,West..and someone else I think? It's not a given Green ,or Jianlian will be all star caliber like Ray

Crimson 06-28-2007 07:38 PM

Unless Ray's contract expires soon or something like that...I wouldn't get Green though...i'd prefer Brewer..even Yi.

Crimson 06-28-2007 07:50 PM

Celtics pick...Jeff Green :|

Damn I liked Ray ...

Splaya 06-28-2007 08:31 PM

FUCK, I WAS SO HOPING ACIE LAW WOULD SOMEHOW SLIP TO THE PISTONS.

HAHA, at the Hawks. Acie did not look happy about going there at all

McLegend 06-28-2007 08:40 PM

Ok we have Al Thorton and Julian Wright still left and we pick thaddus young.

I am so mad right now

Splaya 06-28-2007 08:46 PM

Seriously gonna wonder if the Pistons would pass on Thorton

Splaya 06-28-2007 08:55 PM

I feel it, the Pistons are gonna take Stuckey. Come on

Splaya 06-28-2007 09:01 PM

Yes. Where I had hoped Law would fall this far, I'm thrilled the Pistons got Stuckey

The Miz 06-28-2007 09:04 PM

God dammit. We didn't need to trade Ray. Might end up being an okay move in 3 or 4 years but the Sonics won't be in Seattle then so fuck this shit

The Miz 06-28-2007 09:05 PM

Actually, I don't even give a shit about the Oklahoma City SuperSonics anymore. Lets go Warriors

VonErichLives 06-28-2007 09:32 PM

I have the local sports radio on and everyone wants Ainge fired... everyone here seems to hate this trade.

I think they're going to package they're two 2nd round picks (they got seattles) with someone to move up late round 1 and grab someone...

or who knows... maybe Pierce gets delt in a deal...

can't wait to see Pierce and allan fight over the ball and then stand around on offense while the other team scores.

The Miz 06-28-2007 09:39 PM

Ray is god here, this is going to be the last straw for alot of Sonics fans after the announcement that the team is moving. I personally wouldn't have minded had we gotten Yi or Horford, but Green, nahhh

The Miz 06-28-2007 09:41 PM

Bricks get:
Zach Randolph
Dan Dickau
Fred Jones

Blazers get:
Steve Francis
Channing Frye

lol nice one Bricks. Randolph and Curry, that is going to be hilarious. They are the most pathetic team in New York............ nah jk its the Yankees

The Miz 06-28-2007 09:46 PM

And LOL @ Dan Dickau being traded for the 17th time

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 09:48 PM

Anige is the Matt Millen of the NBA

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 09:49 PM

LOL it seems Dickau always gets traded. He gets traded all the time in FANTASY leagues I am in even

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 09:49 PM

I agree Miz. While I think Green is decent I felt he wasnt even the best player on G-Town

Crimson 06-28-2007 11:01 PM

Yea I thought Yi shoulda been the pick for the Sonics...but Ray was my f'n man, i'll find it hard to root for him for a team like the Celts , who god knows what the hell they were thinkin to begin with now having 2 premier shooters..they woulda been in good hands with Yi too.

The Miz 06-28-2007 11:07 PM

Nah, Durant was def. the pick at 2, I'm just saying ideal situation was we get Yi in a trade rather than Green. The last thing we needed was another SF. Ridnour, Lewis, Durant, Green, Swift will be our starting 5 unless we trade Luke. Meh.

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:08 PM

I like the Celtics next season

PG Rondo
SG Allen
SF Pierce
PF Jefferson
C Perkins

6th Man: Green

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:09 PM

I have heard Lewis will get traded most likely and Ridnour might get traded if the right deal comes along but should still be the pg for the Sonics

The Miz 06-28-2007 11:09 PM

Bobcats get:
Jason Richardson

Warriors get:
Brandan Wright

Wow, great move for the W's. Gets rid of the logjam at the 2, clear a ton of cap room and get a great young big man. I feel sorry for JRich though, he put up with those shit Warrior teams for years and now that they are finally getting good he gets traded to the fucking Bobcats

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:11 PM

That was a pretty suprsing deal.

The Miz 06-28-2007 11:13 PM

Apparently Yi is pulling an Eli Manning towards the Bucks. He said before the draft he either wanted to go to Oakland or Chicago, perhaps the Wright-Rcihardson deal was just a stepping stone for Wright to be dealt to the Bucks for Yi?

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:15 PM

J-Rich will prolly be the Bcats leading scorer but it means likely Wallace wont resign with them.

Warriors meanawhile get Brendan Wright who def has a bright upside and should fit well in the GS system. Monta Ellis can finally shine as the SG for GS as J-Rich is gone

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:16 PM

Yi's camp told the Bucks before the draft that they would not go there. The Bucks never even scouted Yi and yet even after being told that he wouldnt go there they drafted him lol

The Miz 06-28-2007 11:19 PM

PG - Baron Davis, Marco Belinelli, Sarunas Jasikevicius
SG - Stephen Jackson, Monta Ellis, Mickael Pietrus
SF - Brandan Wright, Mickael Pietrus
PF - Al Harrington, Kelenna Azubuike
C - Andris Biedrins, Adonal Foyle

They are still too small, but theyre gonna be pretty good next year if Davis can stay healthy

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:20 PM

Portland has like 4 2nd rd picks.

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:21 PM

Did you forget Barnes Miz or do you think he will not return next season?

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:23 PM

I am a little suprised guys like Rayshawn Terry and Chris Richard are getting drafted.

The Miz 06-28-2007 11:23 PM

He's their only UFA, I think they should resign him though. He was probably their best defender and had a ton of hard-nosed hustle plays in the playoffs

Splaya 06-28-2007 11:25 PM

Glen Davis was traded to Boston. Even nicer for the Celts

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:26 PM

Barnes loved the GS offense and the team, but people wonder if he will take a larger contract elsewhere

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:27 PM

Big Baby is a sleeper.

mrslackalack 06-28-2007 11:29 PM

Crazy part is Barnes could prolly make an NFL team.

Yea thats what I meant..with the 5th pick Yi over Green for sure. Now a sign and trade with Lewis to Celtics with the same result woulda been even better.

The Blazers are lookin prety sweet too, I doubt the 8 players that they got today will all make the team but it's a hell of a start for the Oden era up there.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-28-2007 11:57 PM

Ray Allen....really?

Triple A 06-29-2007 12:12 AM

I love the Knicks trade to get Randolph.

Basically Randolph for Frye, and getting rid of Francis is addition by subtraction.

OssMan 06-29-2007 12:27 AM

YEs i hope the Chinese dude does not go to Milwaukee, i hate the bucks. and the Bulls took Noah, that sucks, cause i like the bulls.

Also I have no idea who Nick Young is and I think he'll lead the Wizards into their third straight first round loss to the LeBrons.

Crimson 06-29-2007 12:41 AM

Young is a pretty skinny dude ..but he can shoot it. I was hoping he stayed at USC one more year so he could take USC to the final four with Mayo.

SammyG 06-29-2007 03:35 AM

I hate the Los Angeles Lakers and their retarded draft. Fuck the Lakers.

Nah, Millen can't draft, trade or sign well.

Ainge at least can draft well... he's trades typically suck, but I'll leave the jury out on this one... in fairness he's been told "win now" that's from the owners, he was told we don't want to compete in 2yrs, we need to (ticket sales) compete this year.

Plus, Ray Allan sells a lot more jerseys then most draft picks.

Also, the thought is they're not done... There was talk today that they might make another run at Garnett, since now he'd be coming to play with Pierce and Allan in an weak Eastern Confrence he might be more likely to accept the trade.

BCWWF 06-29-2007 10:08 AM

That was the worst trade ever by the Celtics. They traded an awesome young player and the No. 5 draft pick for an aging, injury-prone guard when all they needed was a big man. Seattle totally won that deal.

RP 06-29-2007 10:48 AM

People will ofcourse say i'm dumb, but i think 10 years from now the best player to come from this draft will be Al Horford. He seriously reminds me of a more aggresive Tim Duncan. I think Durant is gunna be real good, but i think after about 4 years of ball, he'll be right about where Melo is right now. I think Oden will be good, but i just really dont know how good. I think Oden can be a really good player and still be considered a bust.

McLegend 06-29-2007 03:46 PM

I hate Billy King

I dunno, the Celtics have made some other bad ones... but it's Karma from Red Auerbach pulling off the best trades in history.

Also, I'm not sure how bad this really is... especially if you're trying to win now, not in 2-3yrs...

Also, this "injury prone" thing... I thought that sounded right... but take a look.

only 3 out of 12yrs has he missed more then 15% of the games.

Also, he's 32... that's far from done in the NBA..

Don't get me wrong, I would have liked to kept the pick... but it's not a horrible trade.

Also, there is a rumor they're not done and that with Allan & Pierce that Garnett might re-condisder Boston.

I still don't want to deal Jefferson... but if we can have Garnett, Allan & Pierce... might not win it all, but will be fun to watch.

mrslackalack 06-29-2007 10:01 PM

If Nick Young had returned for his sr season at USC I felt that USC would def be a Final Four team because Mayo/Young would have made one of the nations top backcourts
