Chavo Guerrero
Isn't it about time he get's pushed up to main event status?
He's the only member of the Smackdown Six (from 2002) who hasn't gone on to better things. He's got the tools, the charisma, and he can work his ass off in that ring. In the last two years he's lost two of his cloest friends, yet all they give him is crappy Vickie Guerrero angles. Seriously... even if they keep him heel as opposed to the whole "sympathetic face" thing... Just have him turn into a real badass guy who's sick of all the crap that's gone on in his life and he's willing to do ANYTHING to get the damn title. Obviously that wouldn't work with Edge as a heel champ... but they'll think of something. Thoughts? |

I'll say he should be higher on the card than he is...but not main eventing.
|
US title at most. Or ECW champion. Nothing higher.
|
And besides, just because your best friends die doesn't mean you automatically get a push.
|
^ Exactly, i can't stand Chavo really, he was at his best when he was with eddie.
|
Yeh I'll go with him main eventing Tuesday nights on Sci-Fi.

I'm going to get a tattoo across my stomach that reads "WHITE GUY"
|
In other news, that belt is at least three times the size of his head.

Besides, I meant shouldn't, as MB edited. |

As you can see by this picture, you sir, are wrong. |

Me: Rey, you don't get a push just because Benoit died. |

Sure, as soon as his stops being bland, terrible, and leeching off of the dead.
|
Well they could at least give him the US title and see where that goes... if he can run with the ball and become a legit threat then maybe they can move him from US to World (Like Eddie did in late 2003/early 2004).

Is that a face you can pop for? |
Chavo should have been pushed to upper mid-card long ago, IMO.
|
Chavo is awesome. He should be pushed to semi-mainevents.
|
I guess with all the deaths the WWE would look bad releasing him.
|
chavo is the ric flair of cruiser weights he has held that belt alot in wcw and wwe i think he held it the most so thasts a good push for him.
|
Midcard title at best for him.
|
I think the problem with Chavo is that he has never been given a serious push against top guys besided Eddie and Rey. I could be mistaken. But half the reason is because he has been beating jobbers and not guys that are better than him. So he can only look as good as the last jobber he beat.
|
What BDC said. :y:
He needs to US strap and a chance to have fueds with a lot of top tier guys... but by fueds I mean where he wins matches as well. I really enjoyed his rivalry with Chris Benoit, but I felt a Chavo win was much needed. And then if his US run goes well maybe push him a bit higher up. |
I believe he should have made it when he was Kerwin White...
|
I can't see Chavo main eventing, he's great in the midcard. A lengthy U.S Title run is probably the height of any push he may get in the future.

lol, You know what? If that expression was polydented in place for all time, then yes...yes, it is. On topic, I could definitely see Chavo wedging his way into the ME. Not a "Daddy says I"m the new Main Eventer, so deal with" scene, as with Mr. Layfield, where there was no story. But make him the new "It's my turn," guy. Not so combustive, as Edge was -- more like another Rikishi. I mean, no set-ups or overly dramatic scenes. Just make it out that none of the top dogs really think of him as an issue, and have him going over them in matches because they don't put any stock in his ability, seeing him as merely another bump in the road on their way to inevitable victory. Kinda like Jericho's Undisputed Title situation. |
Also, in that pic, his name should be Scotty Dos Hotty.
|
Chavo would get a push now, if not for Chris Benoit's damn incosiderate actions. He should be ashamed of himself for not giving Chavo something to milk.

I'm not sure how much more he could pull out of his Culo to make it to ME status... |

Anyway, he is not quite the worker he once was, and he doesn't have the promo ability to build a brand around. Okay, I know it's been said about people in the past (such as Benoit) but I cannot see Chavo as a ME/World champion player in the future. He has charisma, but not at the main event level.
Plus, without a major overhaul, a la JBL... he's just been around too long, doing the same thing in the same position... people won't suddenly buy him as a main eventer. |
Now a break, an overhaul and a flunkie would do Chavo some good. He could put on a program with Rey. One of those you milked MY family name and got a belt type of feuds. That would start his push towards something halfway decent. any thoughts?
|
I remember after Los Guerreros broke up for the last time and Chavo and Eddie were feuding, I thought that he could have easily been moved up to the Main Event then.
Shortly afterwards, Eddie won the title and had to defend it against Chavo (or at least face Chavo) and to me Chavo cme across as a credible opponent and challenger for the title. Of course, that was many years ago. Chavo would need to be built up a lot again before I could see him as a potential challenger again. I don't know if it can be done. He doesn't have an Eddie to play off of this time, and I don't think there is anyone else good enough to help lift someone up like that. |

Chavo was clearly the best when he was Eddie's bitch in WCW and had to wear that shirt that said "EDDIE GUERRERO IS MY FAVORITE WRESTLER".
|
I honestly loved the Kerwin White character and thought it had ass loads of potential. At the time, I remember thinking that Shelton could start feeling the same way, but he wouldn't even have to change his name to something more white.
|
I like Chavo a lot, wished he had more quality ring time and feuds, but he is not main event material. If WWE actually gave a shit about the cruisers, he'd be fine there.... But WWE doesn't care about the cruiser division so he's stuck. You can't even be a mid carder in WWE these days. You're either a main eventer, or a jobber... or one of the guys getting a monster Lex Luger push.

Including Edge, in my opinion, but people will piss and moan about this one. And at this point in their careers, Cena and Orton should be chasing the midcard titles. |
Seriously, KK. I half agree and disagree with Edge. Had WWE used and booked him like they did in 2002, he'd be a pretty big draw. Remember his amazing feuds with Eddie and Angle? I know when you're feuding with them, you're going to look good no matter what, but Edge was fucking entertaining back then. I like him a lot now, but he's not as awesome as he could be (Still pretty good).
It's funny because 6+ years ago Cena, Orton, Lashley, and pretty much everyone else would be at most in the IC division. |
^^^
And it would still be pretty cool because the IC and mid card divisions meant something. I remember a time when non everyone who could possibly win a certain title won it. Now everyone wins everything. |

Edge used to be entertaining. The lack of entertainment value currently leads me to believe he's a one-trick pony. But yes, in the past, he was the goods. Primarily with Christian to carry him, but still.

I think Chavo should have gotten a chance at the U.S. title during his feud with Benoit in late 2006.
|
I dont feel Chavo will ever be a ME though
