Xero 07-07-2007 10:10 PM

Chris Jericho, Bret Hart and John Cena on Larry King on Monday...

WWE champion John Cena has been added to this Monday's Larry King Live on CNN, discussing the Benoit tragedy. Bret Hart, Chris Jericho, Marc Mero and Ted DiBiase had been previously scheduled for the show, but CNN is now listing Hart, Cena and Jericho as guests. Cena's addition would explain the change in the Raw main event that Dave Scherer mentioned earlier today.

From PWInsider.

Yeah, thought thought this was fairly significant with Cena now on the show.

FourFifty 07-07-2007 10:11 PM

Does this mean Cena won't be on Raw...?

Sweet!

ClockShot 07-07-2007 10:32 PM

Yeah. Cena not on Raw is good.

But that lineup on Larry King makes me wanna tune in.

Kane Knight 07-07-2007 10:51 PM

Cena not on Raw makes me want to tune in.

Though I REALLY want to see what he says about the issue.

Zen v.W.o. 07-07-2007 10:54 PM

I think Bret has now done every tv talk show in existence. He's everywhere lately.

Hopefully Bret and Jericho do most of the talking.

Corkscrewed 07-07-2007 11:38 PM

I'll be very interested to see how this goes. I *think* Cena can actually be well-spoken, but in a league of experts, hopefully he won't say anything dumb or lame.

Xero 07-07-2007 11:39 PM

King: John, have you ever taken Steroids?

Cena: .... You know, I have a match with BOBBY LASHLEY this month! Donald Trump loves him!

mrslackalack 07-07-2007 11:48 PM

Should be very interesting.

I'm betting he comes off as a good corporate man.

mrslackalack 07-08-2007 12:15 AM

Bet RAW now gets booked all around Lashley.

mrslackalack 07-08-2007 12:30 AM

It would be awesome if Jericho challenged Cena to a WWE title match on there.

mrslackalack 07-08-2007 12:31 AM

I am suprised Boone hasnt made 5 headlines about this.

Cooler Tom Schuler 07-08-2007 01:08 AM

YOUR Hero 07-08-2007 01:20 AM

I've seen and hear Cena talk and he comes off as an intelligent person.

Why ever would they have guys like Marc Mero and the like on these shows is beyond me.

JT 07-08-2007 01:31 AM

***Interview on Monday***

Larry: So what are your thoughts on Chris Benoit?

Bret: I can't understand it. He was like a little brother to me and I never saw this coming.

Jericho: Same. I talk to the man all the time and there was never a sign of him snapping like this.

Larry: Your thoughts Mr. Cena.

Cena: Chris Benoit was missing a tooth and I thought it was funny when he smiled!

***Silence.***

***Bret Hart backhands Cena.***

JT 07-08-2007 01:37 AM

Okay, to follow up my crappy joke with some real input on the conversation, I will be tuning into the show if I remember. I've honestly haven't had interest in watching wrestling since the Chris Benoit matter began, and I might keep it this way for awhile. However, I still have interest in the topic of Benoit and the thoughts of people close to him. I'm mostly tuning in for Bret and Chris, but might be interesting to here Cena too, though probably for the sharp contrast of opinion he has on the man compaired to 2 men who've know him for quite a few years.

With Bret Hart as the special guest referee?

KingofOldSchool 07-08-2007 02:19 PM

Now if only Kennedy would appear on another talk show during Raw, then I could be 100% safe to enjoy Raw Monday.

The MAC 07-08-2007 03:35 PM

I'm gonna be watching to see Chris and Bret. Who's watching to see Cena?

Evolution 07-08-2007 07:59 PM

I'll pay everyone $50 if Cena DOESN'T have the title belt on the Larry King show.

$50 Canadian.

Zen v.W.o. 07-09-2007 02:31 AM

The canadian money joke doesnt hold up as well anymore, considering how much it's rising in relation to the declining american value.

You suck. Get over it.

BigDaddyCool 07-09-2007 05:23 PM

Do you think WWE will address this issue on Raw? I mean I know that Vince said they will not talk about Benoit on WWE tv but it seems like this issue if far from being put to rest. Will they talk about it on Raw, or just let Cena address this issue to the public?

I'm not sure if I'm saying what I want to...

Xero 07-09-2007 05:25 PM

It's bad either way. If they say he's doing it, there could potentially be that Nitro mega switch that happened when Foley won the title (people may change for a second, see Bret and/or Jericho and stay, or even Cena). If they don't, people will be wondering where Cena is.

They could lie about it and say he's not there for some reason. I suppose the best bet is them announcing it in the 10 o'clock hour but not mentioning the tragedy.

BigDaddyCool 07-09-2007 05:27 PM

Yeah...I wasn't really think from a ratings stand point, I was thinking from a this issue can't really be ignored right now stand point.

Xero 07-09-2007 05:30 PM

I know, and I also know that ratings would be the first thing they think about after announcing it is brought up.

You know, Bret was one of the first guys to really break the mold in talk about this. Everyone either comes off as a company stooge like Cena or a bitter husk of a wrestler looking to take pot shots at the industery or Vince like Marc Mero or Konnan.

Zen v.W.o. 07-10-2007 01:08 AM

Union busting's illegal. Firing someone specifically for being pro-union, or saying something pro-union is against the law.

The only shame is that, as contract workers, WWE wrestlers probably have no recourse anyway.

So yes. It's a shame that Vince is so tyrannical, one cannot even discuss the necessity (or lack of, before you pussies start whining) of a union without fear of losing their job. This isn't really about publically bashing someone.

Theo Dious 07-10-2007 11:11 AM

I was surprised at how generally friendly and supportive of WWE and the business in general Bret was. I mean seriously, if Bret Hart doesn't see an opportunity to slander Vince McMahon, the opportunity probably isn't really there.

Oh yeah, if Jericho comes back, it will be with WWE. TNA can't afford him.

Theo Dious 07-10-2007 02:58 PM

The thing that cracks me up about the idea of Jericho "kissing WWE's ass" is that WWE needs Jericho far more than he needs them at this point. He can say whatever he wants, he doesn't have to kiss anybody's anything. Jericho came across as nothing but sincere and honest in his opinions... oh but wait, anyone who doesn't say Vince and WWE are evil bastards who should burn in hell is a company kiss-ass. Sorry, forgive my lapse of reason.

So yeah, if Jericho returns, it will probably be with WWE, and if he wrestles in TNA at all, it won't be anything even remotely resembling full-time.

Rob 07-10-2007 03:14 PM

Jericho is too good for wrestling.

Theo Dious 07-10-2007 03:16 PM

BTW, what is Jericho's past as far as steroids and such go? He seems to have gotten considerably larger than he was at first, but he's never really been a stone-chiseled 'roid monster. Would be interesting to know, if anyone has that info.

Loose Cannon 07-10-2007 03:19 PM

if I was a betting man, I'd bet Chris Jerocho has used steroids before.

Theo Dious 07-10-2007 03:25 PM

Kinda sad that I got this idea from listening to the Ultimate Warrior... but WWE should start a program where they basically educate the public on the fact that not every usage of steroids is a terrible thing. Sort of like liquor's "drink responsibly" mantra. Instead of just hiding from the issue, bring it out and show the public that steroids are not the devil, and that they have legitimate uses, and that not everyone who uses steroids turns into a Benoit, or even a Scott Steiner or Kurt Angle.

Mooияakeя™ 07-10-2007 03:32 PM

I understand that wrestling fans are in a way trained to look for as much drama as possible in every situation... but I think it's time everyone stop going with the theory that Bret Hart hates Vince and WWE with every fiber in his being and has plans of one day being the man that ends the company once and for all. Yeah, he held on to Montreal longer than he should have and I was one of the guys in the whole "LET IT GO" boat and was pretty annoyed by it. But he's over talking about it. It's done. The man is not gonna call Vince McMahon the spawn of Satan every chance he gets. He even appeared on Raw last month.

Now, onto the interview (Watched it live on the west coast before Raw even came on, take it east coast.)

Jericho came off as a GREAT spokesman for wrestling... even though he isn't even involved in the buisiness, that man makes me proud to have been a fan for so long. He is one of the coolest, classiest guys I've ever seen interviewed. As far as Cena goes, like it or not, he did a great job in the interview. I think he also came off as a great spokesman for wrestling and just seeing him and Jericho together was pretty cool.

And finally, Larry King is a massive tool.

Jericho should have his own talk show if anything. I mean seriously, the guy is amazing not only as an entertainer but as a legitimate on air presence (non kayfabe). It's too bad the stigma of wrestling is such taboo. In all honesty, the guy should be taking over for Letterman or have a primetime news show or something.

I've always thought Jericho would be amazing on ESPN as a Kenny Mayne type. A comedic personality sports coverer for hockey or something.

If you look at the crop of talent on SNL these days Jericho would be more than qualified to be on the cast.

Bottom line, I just want Jericho on my television regularly, whether it be with WWE or anything else.
