Kojima has stated, if he does choose to work on games for either the 360 or the Wii, it won't have anything to do with Metal Gear Solid, they will be completely new IPs.

Anyway, this topic keeps coming up. I am a PS3 and Xbox360 owner and I know very well that the 360's games are way better. But I use my consoles to watch movies 99% of the time and the PS3's upscaling/built-in HD features are what make me use the PS3 a lot more then the 360.

But yeah, for games, no competition. PS3 has a lot of catching up to do in that department. Hopefully stuff like Lair and Uncharted will be good.

I own a PSOne and PS2.

I don't intend on buying a PS3.

Yeah, I meant the original Xbox. If I'm wrong, somebody give me the name of the game than sold anywhere near the numbers of Halo or Halo 2, as a system exclusive.

Super Mario 3 (1 was bundled so I don't count it) came in at 10 million more than Halo 2...

The Xbox sucked ass. Halo was basically it's only killer app. Everything else was either shit or cross-platform.

And in fact, Halo nor Halo 2 are Xbox exclusive...

The people who are Xbox only fans praise Halo and Halo 2 as the greatest games ever. They're not very good games, but if you try to tell that to a Xbox only fan, they take it as you're saying they like to get raped by dogs, or something.

The only thing remotly decent about Halo is the campaign. Multiplayer wise, nothing that hasn't been done a million times before.

I tend to think of FPSes as crap anyway, but really, Halo was pretty unspectacular.

I honestly wonder how phenomenally stupid people have to be to be hyped up so much about one game after another, that they can glide right through the mediocrity time and again.

I went to Gamestop to pick up a game I preordered, Project Sylpheed (an awesome game by the way, all 360 owners who are into sci-fi action should check it out.) The guy behind the counter asked me if I preordered Halo 3 yet, and I said "No, didn't really care for the 2nd one and haven't bothered to preorder it."

He looked at me like I was crazy and said "But it's the best game coming out!"

/sigh

I wonder why the 360 has better games than PS3.....could it be the system was out a year earlier? You know, more time means more games. More games means more good games. Plus they have had all that extra time to learn tricks in the dev software to make better games faster and cheaper. Compare PS3 software in one year to current 360 software. I gaurantee you everyone will be buzzing about MGS4, Killzone 2, FFXIII, etc. And MOST of the 360 owners (by most, I mean, the non-intelligent ones) will all be griping about how Halo 3 is better than all of those games combined. But they won't have anything other than Halo 3 to talk about.

As it stands now, though, yes, 360 has better software.

No, the original XBox was a PC. The 360 is using PowerPC processors made by IBM.... The SAME people who make the Cell processor for the PS3 and they're both PowerPC based.

People forget because that myth doesn't exist.

MGS4 and FFXIII will both be ported to the 360.

Ah, at least you made the effort. I won't get into PDZ > Resistance bollocks. The multi-format gaming press would disagree, but each to their own.

Now, FF is "defs" not ported. There was a rumor flying around because Square bought some rights to the Gears of War engine, but even if FF comes over, it's going to be a different game. Square have already said that most of their games willm be exclusive to one console and you forget that FF13 is plannging to have at least 5 different games. So they won't be the same game.

MGS, of course the rumors are there. It will happen one day, or at least PC, but it won't be for at least 6 months minimum after the PS3 release. I prefer my 360, but you can't just spout garbage and then say the PS3 is poo.

And at a related point in time, the 360 had a better selection of games, with a more diverse set of announced titles. And if you think that 360 owners won't have anything to talk about but Halo, you REALLY need to pay more attention.

But what you're forgetting is that the PS3 has über 1337 super secret jardware that will pwn all!

There was also Ninja Gaiden for the XBox. Best game for that system.

But PS3 gets Ninja Gaiden Sigma!!!!!

It is a remake. Pretty much 0 for new content. That's why I brought it up.

It's one of the original games that people are using to support the PS3's awesomeness.

I bring it up because it's funny when people us ports and remakes to show how cool a system is. Like Super Mario 64 for the DS, or half the early DS games.

Square-Enix did license the Unreal Engine 3, but it's not for a Final Fantasy game, it's for a game called The Last Remnant. It's some kind of action-RPG.

I bought Call of Juarez today, the game is good, its a western game :).

Nope. It's a pretty horrible game honestly.

Well, it came out for PC but afterwards. I don't believe it's a sequel or remake.

I enjoyed Halo and thought it was a good game. Halo 2 was ok but nothing spectacular. I will agree that both games are overhyped far too much. There are much better FPS out than Halo. My favourite FPS is Half Life 2.

The official sites all list it as a PC game. That usually indicates it was a PC game first. In fact, according to GameFAQs, it came out a full year earlier on PC. Well, almost.

That was a Europe release. For the US it came out on the same time as it did on the 360.

Na Call of Juarez has only just come out for 360.
It was in a magazine I bought to read on the plane.
It doesn't seem like a game that'll last long though so its gonna go after I've completed it. Enjoying the storyline anyway.
