Favorite Taker Memory?

I'm going to say when he finally got to get back at his manager Paul Bearer for turning his back on him. What about you Takerlovers?

loosecollector 07-18-2007 04:12 AM

His debut.
In a place with Indians, Barbers, Garbage-guys, Sailors, Models, Cops and Convicts... he still stood out.
He WAS convincingly scary.

hbk4life121 07-18-2007 05:45 AM

The night he came back vs kane and him and Paul reunited.

SammyG 07-18-2007 05:46 AM

ROFLLLL Takerlover. When you posted that one pic in the photo album here on tpww. That was the funniest shit ever.

Mr. Nerfect 07-18-2007 06:11 AM

I honestly don't have a positive memory of Undertaker. I've always preferred Kane. Plus Taker is a bitch for getting Sandman punished just because he doesn't like him.

I did mark out like a motherfucker when Maven dropkicked him out of the 2002 Royal Rumble Match, though. What happened next with Undertaker destroying Maven kind of ruined it, though. They should have had The Hardys brawl with Taker to the back, leaving Maven to remain in there for a bit. Someone like Christian could have eliminated him, and given the middle section of the Rumble some more heat.

Maybe if Sandman wasn't a useless sack of shit, I would give a fuck.

When he returned at Mania 14. Seeing that live was just awesome...

True Brit Grit 07-18-2007 03:55 PM

His debut, his entrance at SummerSlam 1992, His match at RR94 strangely enough.

Jeritron 07-18-2007 04:06 PM

Even though I got sick of the American Badass quickly, his return at Judgement Day 2000 was pretty awesome.

Basically that and most of his shit from 98-99.

Slow 07-18-2007 04:15 PM

20 posts and no mention of hell in a cell vs mankind?

here's mine, hell in a cell vs mankind.

Hey, I'm not a big fan of the guy, either, but it doesn't change the fact that Taker is a complete bitch.

Am I the only one who doesn't find Taker flying over the top rope impressive? I mean, the guy is 6'10, he could pretty much walk over it.

Mr. Pierre 07-18-2007 07:02 PM

Undertaker winning the title at Mania 13 (even though the match was ugly).

Beating Kane at Mania 14.

His entrance at Mania 20 and 23.

Undertaker and Batista having a good match at Mania 23 and seeing Taker win the belt (the dive over the top is my favorite spot).

I'm a huge Taker mark, so I will say with tons of biasness: Taker > Anyone.

SammyG 07-18-2007 07:16 PM

Takerlover, post a new pic. please.

If you were 40+, 6'10" and over 300lbs. could you dive over the top rope and make it look good?

OverTaker 07-19-2007 12:03 AM

He's got specially made springs in his boots that make him do that.

I think mine is when Maven eliminated Taker then Taker destroyed him afterwards, smashed Maven into the popcorn machine and ate some popcorn but most recently when Taker won the battle royal and the Royal Rumble. Here's some funny ones though:

Also, the first time I saw him walk the top rope.

To see someone that big do that was amazing, and he's still doing it. To be honest, I'm surprised he hasn't snapped both his ankles.

Yeah, a guy his size at his age pulling off a move that a lot of younger, smaller guys can't do as well isn't impressive at all.

Jordan 07-19-2007 12:02 PM

Taker's feud with Mankind in 96 was awesome. The match they had at KOTR 96 was brutal and then the Boiler Room Brawl with Paul turning on Taker was classic.

In the words of Foley, Taker gets more of a reaction busting that move twice a year than most of those younger, smaller guys doing more complex moves every night.

If anyone remembers his Pre-Undertaker days when he was busting out the Heat-Seaking Missle (walking the top rope without assistance and dropping the elbow in the center of the ring.), you knew he was something special.

As far as my favorite Taker Memory, the Funeral Parlor where he OFFICIALLY turned face for the first time, with 2 words: Not Yours!

Anybody Thrilla 07-19-2007 06:39 PM

I remember being scared to death when I thought he killed The Ultimate Warrior when he locked him in the casket.

Stickman 07-19-2007 06:55 PM

When Jake the Snake slammed the casket lid on taker's hand yet he followed Jake while dragging the casket.

Vastardikai 07-19-2007 07:34 PM

Same Funeral Parlor as the one I mentioned. I'm impressed.

I remember laughing hysterically. And I was like 12 at the time. I never liked that painted-faced rope-shaking jackass.

Anybody Thrilla 07-20-2007 12:39 PM

I mentioned the part just before he slammed the casket door on Taker's hand. When Jake asked him whose side he was on, and his awesome two word response that caused a massive pop.

apokalypse7 07-21-2007 09:18 AM

My favorite Taker Memory came from a story the Rock told. When the Rock got his first real push, and Taker had to job to Rock. The bookers wanted a run in, and a dirty finish. Taker said no to that, stated that it was the kid's time to shine, and he deserved a clean finish. Then Taker did the job.
Very cool considering that this was during the kliq's rise to power, and when politics were becoming a major player on RAW....

Pure Class. And I'm really not a Taker fan.

Do you know exactly when this match took place because I've been asking about this in the Q&A forum.

Far and away my favourite memory of Taker was Judgement Day 2000 (when he returned after about 8 months or so). DX was beating the crap out of The Rock when Taker's music hit!

The crowd went absolutely NUTS when Taker came out and beat down the McMahon-Helmsley faction.

One of my biggest mark out moments of all-time. The theme music and EVERYTHING was perfect.

I don't remember right off. But the actual story was on the rock's first DVD. The match was on there too if I'm not mistaken, hope that helps.
