Top star misses RAW (RAW spoilers)

Early word from the PWInsider guys is that Jeff Hardy wasn't at RAW, which is why Umaga was booked in a babyface role against Santino last night. Nothing yet as to why, but it wouldn't be good for him to start no showing dates and pulling a 2003-2005 Hardy.

Kane Knight 07-31-2007 12:06 PM

So much for him working his ass off.

Xero 07-31-2007 12:08 PM

I was gonna go to work, but then I got high
I just got a new promotion, but I got high
Now I'm selling dope and I know why, (why man) 'cuz I got high
Because I got high
Because I got high

James Steele 07-31-2007 12:23 PM

I hope he something didn't happen to him or his loved ones. (waits for benoit joke).

Jeff killed Matt because Matt has more friends on MySpace than him.

Innovator 07-31-2007 01:13 PM

Jeff found Matt in bed with Jeff's favorite lampshade

KingofOldSchool 07-31-2007 01:15 PM

Or maybe Matt found Jeff in bed with Lita.

Again.

Jordan 07-31-2007 01:20 PM

I doubt he no showed, I'm sure there is a good reason.

Road Warrior 07-31-2007 01:36 PM

Who cares ? He been doing the same mid-card act for well..... fuckin years, and he's still awful on the mic. Every so often he has to throw himself off of a twenty foot ladder to save his job. I could care less if he shows up or not. Maybe the'll fire him and Matt can go back to being a heel, where at least he'd mildly entertaning.

Jordan 07-31-2007 01:51 PM

He's a huge star, I think a lot of people care and it's a pretty big deal.

KingofOldSchool 07-31-2007 01:57 PM

According to Dave Scherer, Jeff Hardy didn't show up at RAW last night. There is concern in the company that he won't be back for SummerSlam and that he might not be back at all. His program with Umaga was scrapped and Umaga was turned babyface on RAW.

Stay tuned as we will have updates very shortly regarding this breaking news story.

Shaggy 07-31-2007 02:04 PM

LOL....I guess he will be back in TNA in no time...

BigDaddyCool 07-31-2007 02:09 PM

Now when you say Jeff Hardy and top star, it is a bit confusing.

Innovator 07-31-2007 02:09 PM

#2 babyface on RAW until Trips comes back

If Hardy is fucking up then he is oblivious to the face pops he has been getting the last month and a half

Anybody Thrilla 07-31-2007 02:36 PM

Oh come on, the one time in his career that I start to actually like him, and now this? And why do they think he'll never be back based on one show? I NEED ANSWERS!

D Mac 07-31-2007 02:45 PM

Shadow's gonna be pissed.

Fuck Shadow raped and killed him, and then hung himself in Jeff's gym.

Jordan 07-31-2007 03:13 PM

Splaya 07-31-2007 03:19 PM

Well...wonder what the hell happened.

Also...FUCK ALL OF YOU.

Jordan 07-31-2007 03:33 PM

LOL Jeff Hardy raper....

LOL at that video, too bad the car didn't run him over.

Rammsteinmad 07-31-2007 03:40 PM

It's a shame how they always push Jeff as the better Hardy and always give him the mid-card titles so he can always fuck it up.

Matt better win the US Title soon.

Kane Knight 07-31-2007 04:29 PM

Breaking news: The final text messages sent to random people before his death.

Shortly after this, Shadow and Jeff HArdy were found dead in HArdy's pool. Cause of Death appears to be jumping off of something really high.

SammyG 07-31-2007 05:08 PM

Hope Jeff comes back... He's awesome.

Innovator 07-31-2007 05:10 PM

PWInsider just had an update...

Hardy gave notice to WWE he was going to miss RAW, so he didn't no show the event. Shadow you can stop chugging the Draino.

Corkscrewed 07-31-2007 05:57 PM

Good to know he isn't a total idiot and throwing his push away.

Anyone know whatever happened to Cor Von? He's been gone since he no-showed ECW a couple of weeks ago, and I never did find out why he missed that show either.

Splaya 07-31-2007 06:00 PM

Cor Von had a death in the family that has Supposedly hit him really hard, and they have given him time off to deal with it.

Good news for Jeff Hardy though.

diothoir 07-31-2007 06:03 PM

In an update on the Jeff Hardy situation, he was actually sent home by WWE and his program with Umaga has been dropped with Umaga looking to go face. We'll have more details when they come.

Marcus Cor Von is not scheduled to be at TV tonight.

Sent home sounds a bit odd to be honest.

Also, if Umaga is going face, I hope Armando comes back.

FUCK THAT! Matt can keep chasing, it's a better program now.

Sepholio 07-31-2007 08:29 PM

I wonder if him gdtting sent home had something to do with that botched spot last week. Looked like a botched spot to me, anyways, when he fell off the top rope or whatever.

Innovator 07-31-2007 09:41 PM

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Maybe he's hurt worse than they thought

Yeah, I was at RAW last week and that botch looked really painful live. We were all surprised that he got up.

Shaggy 07-31-2007 10:03 PM

Yea...just read that he was sent home also...makes me think he was back talking someone backstage that he probably shouldnt of been back talking to.

I don't chug draino!

That would kill me

Jordan 08-01-2007 12:00 AM

Well climb down off the ladder, everythings ok.

Yeah, as a Matt Hardy fan, it always seems that as soon as Matt is getting close to something, Jeff Hardy just comes along without warning and either mimics his success, or surpasses it. It's kind of frustrating in a way.

The report is now that Jeff Hardy got sent home. I don't know if that is better or worse. I mean, dropping the Umaga program is not a reason to send him home. They could have thrown him on Heat. Instead of running William Regal vs. Jim Duggan, they could have swapped Duggan for Hardy, and actually had a good match.

Jeff has been really solid since coming back to RAW. Matt is still leaps and bounds the better of the two, but Jeff has had his fair share of great matches. Apparently his bouts with Umaga have been good, and I loved his matches with Johnny Nitro.

Sepholio 08-01-2007 03:20 AM

It is due to the bump on RAW last week. He has been given time off to heal as he apparently injured his neck and back when he fell.

http://www.wrestleview.com/news2006/1185943841.shtml

Dave Youell 08-01-2007 03:24 AM

I hope that report about the injury is right, it's only been reported by his band though. It could be a cover, I hope it isn't.

It's a dam shame regardless though.

Sepholio 08-01-2007 06:26 AM

Yeah, I thought the same thing about his band posting it. Figured no news agencies have picked up on it because it came out in the middle of the night so they can't check it with other sources yet.

I can see that being true though, I'm thinking he showed up to work on pain killers or something and bandaged up and WWE just decided to be nice and give him a break. They may have simply let him go because his program was with Umaga, afterall, and of all people he would have to face, I'd be scared to put him in the ring with Umaga injured. Not only because of Umagas strength but because of the fact that Jeff would have to use alot of high risk spots to look like a threat to him in the first place.

Kane Knight 08-01-2007 08:47 AM

Also, I'm amazed BDC is the only one to question the whole "Top Star" thing.

Dave Youell 08-01-2007 09:02 AM

Well it's all down to perception i guess

if you look at the current faces on Raw

With the exception of John Cena who's in a more elevated posistion than Jeff? Maybe Lashley, but he's injured as well now

So he's in the top 3 faces, that counts as a top star in my book

Kane Knight 08-01-2007 09:35 AM

Ah yes. When you break it down to the top of one side of the coin on one brand, it suddenly all makessense.

Dave Youell 08-01-2007 09:37 AM

Being in the top 3 faces on one brand does make you a top star, or do you dissagree with that?

If HBK and HHH were healthy he'd be lower down the pecking order, he's there by default, but he's still there regardless.

Kane Knight 08-01-2007 09:45 AM

I disagree with that. Fuck, I don't even know if he IS one of the top faces on the brand. But besides that, when you have to quantify him as a one of the top three (1) faces (2) who hasn't been injured (3) on a given brand (4), no.

In a company with like 45 active people (counting only regulars in a wrestling role), being one of the top TWENTY or so does not make you a "top star."

Dave Youell 08-01-2007 10:06 AM

Lets take a look at all the active top level faces on WWE programming right now that have been on TV this week:

Cena
Lashley
Batista
Kane
CM Punk
Matt Hardy (at a stretch)
Dreamer (the only other face worth caring about on ECW)

Now based on the reaction the person gets and the standing within the company I would put Hardy 5th on that list, mainly because of the way that Raw guys are treated compared to the other brands. So he’s 3rd overall on the Raw brand and 5th within the company right now, in my opinion. That to me constitutes a top star

James Steele 08-01-2007 01:41 PM

Jeff gets better pops than Cena.

Innovator 08-01-2007 02:16 PM

The report of him getting time off for the injury is a cover

The reason why he's gone...well it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why

Xero 08-01-2007 02:26 PM

I was pretty much spot on..
