Live-action film
Paramount has commissioned the development of a live-action G.I. Joe film following the success of the 2007 Transformers feature film. The film is being slated for a 2009 release date with Stephen Sommers as the director[2][3] and Stuart Beattie as the scriptwriter.[4] The film will feature an international task force based in New York[5] (previously Brussels)[6] called G.I.J.O.E, (a backronym for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity), instead of the US-centric team featured in all previous incarnations, in order to internationally market the film.[2][6] The film will feature Destro and the Baroness as the main villains, the Dreadnoks as mercenaries (and Cobra's hired muscle), and Cobra Commander in a "puppet master" role. Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow's rivalry will be one of the film's main plot points.[5] Sienna Miller has reportedly signed on to play the Baroness,[7] with Ray Park playing Snake-Eyes.[8] |

I posted my casting picks and, whether you wanted it or not, I have informed you on the selections of Sienna Miller and Ray Park for the movie. Needless to say, I'm reliving my childhood right now. According to The Hollywood Reporter, three more have signed on for the toy-turned-action flick. Rachel Nichols will suit up as Scarlett. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play Heavy Duty. Said Taghmaoui has been cast as Breaker. The beautiful Nichols starred in TV's Alias and recently appeared in the thriller P2. She stars as the red-haired, crossbow-wielding Scarlett. Nichols has also been cast in this year's Star Trek. Akinnuoye-Agbaje is best known playing Mr. Eko on TV's Lost. Heavy Duty is G.I. Joe's weapons expert. Taghmaoui was on TV's Sleeper Cell. He's in the new movie The Kite Runner. Breaker is the communications specialist for the team. There are rumors that Byung-hun Lee will be cast as Storm Shadow -- the yin to the yang of Snake Eye's Ray Park. Even though I am (or, was) a big fan of the '80s comic, toys, and animated TV series, I had no idea G.I. Joe was an acronym. According to THR, it stands for Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity. So I was looking at the IMDB page. Apparently Joseph Gordon Levitt is cast as Cobra Commander. I'm hoping this is a mistake. I really live Levitt as an actor, but way too young for Cobra Commander.

No spazzing yet, but people are bitching that it isn't the original color scheme. Cause bright yellow works so well for a realistic portryal of what is essentialy a stealth character.
Oh and a bunch of people said she looks too much like an x-man. I guess no one can ever use a black jump suit in movies anymore, since the x-men did it. And since they were the first to do it too, ya know. God I love the internet. |

I'm just saying that I dig the production so far. Forgive me for getting excited by I was expecting something very stupid from these people and so far I'm hearing and seeing decent things. It's like all that stuff I was hearing before production was just to scare me.
