How much does it cost to start a wrestling promotion?
Seriously, someone find that out for me, and then help me raise the money and then I'll start a wrestling promotion that doesn't suck for once.
|
You're hte accountant.
|
Lots.
|
OMG, accountants just record what has already been spent. I'm not in purchasing.
|
Depends on if you want professionals or yard tards.
Of course, you get the best of both worlds with Greg Valentine. If you book Valentine/Dennis Stamp I'd be all over that shit. :y: |
Do you want name wrestlers or randoms? Randoms would probably wrestle for near free names would want money.
I'm sure you could find a ring for cheap and rent a warehouse or something for cheap. You'd need licensing and shit to actually put on a show but it can't be terribly expensive but you'd want some cash in your pockets. |
My guess, if you want professionals (not necessarily name guys) you could probably pull off a decently produced show for a few thousand, everything included.
|
Interesting, and you idiots...I mean dudes are willing to give me some start up money? You will be investers of course. You will own nothing but get some interest back or something.
|
Ok, I want to get something started that would be somewhere near RoH level, only you know, good.
|
I'll be a silent owner. I'll put no money up but will be receiving a paycheque after every show.

It only cost 3-4 mil to buy WCW.
|
Yeah, while I have still never seen any RoH, I know it sucks because he never delievered the promised dvds to me. Thus making me think that he is embrased.
|
Kick Mike Jones in the balls, $5!
|
So how much is it gonna cost me to buy in?

Also what should I call it? Here are some names I've been kicking around:
American Championship Wrestling or North American Championship Wrestling International Jew Championship Fighting Inter-Racical Fighting Matches 6000 The Kevin Nash Tribute Wrestling Federation I could call it North American Wrestling, or NAW. And could make it into a joke, you know people could go around saying they are champ, be all like NAW!!! Yeah, that was gay. |
Homosexual Wrestling Federation. Aim to target gays. I bet there is an audience for it. Kane Knight would watch.

Maybe get Chris Crocker to show up from time to time. But do we make a joke out of it, or do we treat the gays with respect...Hmmmmmmm. Probably just make a joke out it because most gays already do that.

URWF
Ultimate Robot Wrestling Federation Top feud? |
Put a one and two zeroes in front of that, and you got yourself a deal.

Good observation |
I've got about £7.50 in my wallet, which, at a guess, is about $16,000. May need to research the exchange rate though.
It may however be cheaper to wait for Vince to destroy the WWE and then buy the stock on the cheap :y: |

It's 13,000 USD |

It's about 8-10 grand for a quality ring. Add in however much it would cost to rent you local civic center or what have you. And wrestler saleries. Not to mention some random smuck starting a company is going to have one hell of a hard time getting wrestlers to come work for him.
Best of luck. |

I'll work in the promotion. I demand a $85,000 salary with a lot of options and a company car. So, I'm guessing it would cost somewhere around $115,000 to start a promotion...assuming all you need is me...which is actually all you need.

TOVO vs TOVO in a TOVO for TOVO Match!
|
Throw that up on the marquee and it'll sell out faster than WrestleMania.

How about $9 an hour, no title shot, but after the show I get to sleep with all the hookers and smoke all the meth I want out of Destor's new labs?
|
Um, no hookers. And the meth smoking is something you and Desty are going to have to figure out between yourselves.
|
Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! When did we decide this was a hooker-free wrestling promotion. Good god what am I saying. There has never been and so long as I am alive and breathing there never will be a wrestling promotion that doesn't have hookers. It's a tradition that's more sacred than any other in this industry.
|
Look, I didn't say you could have hookers, I just don't have any for you. Anyhow, I want my worker's vd free. But I do need you to start juicing up.
|
I'm only going to roid to the point that it covers up that I'm tweaking on Destor's stuff.
And I'm still not sold on this hooker-less promotion thing. I think it's more important to have hookers than a ring, and I think the #1 promotion in the world, WWE, would agree with me on that. |
NO HOOKERS!!!! We will only have sluts. Our budget can't afford hookers, just sluts because they work for free.
|
I'll settle for sluts for the first year, but after that we need to bring in the quality whores.

That will work.

For a starter fed (or anything you could run):
Wrestling Ring: $3000 Rending out a gym or small arena: $500 per hour (includes setup time) Wrestlers: From free (people just getting into business and making a name) or unholy prices (people who once wrestled on television and think they're hot shit). Promotion: The amount you place into promotion is up to you, but this is what it will take to get people to the shows. More you place in, the better the turn out. Then there is other little things like permits to hold events, venders, and any misc that you want for the fed. My estimate is if you want to place some real effort into creating a fulltime promotion...$300,000 probably at the least. A one time or annual show, I can see getting away with $10,000-$40,000. |
