My god I love these games. I am getting ready to give up a considerable chunk of my life to it.

Anyone else as insanely obsessed with the Football Manager games as me?

I tend to be obsessed until the football season itself finishes.

Then I get a life.

I need someones help in this game. I have 2007 and there is a player co-owned by two teams and it said that I have to agree to terms with both teams before I can transfer him which I did, but then nothing ever happens. Both teams agree to the fee but I never hear anything afterwards. Am I missing something here?

Few stupid problems in the demo annoyed the tits out of me but it should be patched release day I'd have thought. Think I'll buy this one often don't bother and just download but have a few days off work coming up so it'll be nice to have around.

I'm quite happy to wait til Chrimbo and ask the rents for it, haven't played the demo, but by all accounts its a cracker.

I'm happy with FM2007 still anyway, into my 13th season with AFC Wimbledon looking to finally achieve the dream....Champions League glory.

I haven't actually played any of the Football manager titles yet. I kept getting given the Old Champ Manager ones (the franchise taken over by Eidos). But the last great Champ Manager game was made by the guys who make Football manager.

Looking over the screen shots i'm liking the way it looks. It appears to be quite tidy. White background is a winner.

Downloaded this last night when I got in drunk. 455 seeders, thought i was seeing things due to my state, i was not. It downloaded in super quick time:)

A few national teams have been greyed out because of licences. Just delete a file called fake.inc and they return to normal :)

What do you mean greyed out? And is that all deleting that file does?

Look at Germany, all their players are fake.

All that file does is have a list of teams they're not allowed to include and thats all the file does :D

So we need to get a TPWW league up and running....I've never played on line though, so not sure how it works. i will have a look tonight maybe. or if anyone else knows how to set it up get to it :mad:

Despite losing all the time and my job almost gone with Villa I reckon I'm starting to get to grips with things preformances are improving ( I say as I trail 2-0 to Bolton :$ )

Had a chat with some people who play online also, basically person with best computer/net connection hosts it as that pc will do all the processing. Sort of thing need to set aside a good few hours to get it all started up with everyone wanting loads of transfers and that and then it shall speed up when the transfer window is gone.

And is it worth playing on line in their opinion. I will now way have the best puta so i won't even bother.

Would be good to get a league going though.

Actually Hasney your also a filthy pirate have you finished a season in your game and if so has the game made a mess of the Euro's? Its a problem with some downloads thats on my game any links to a better copy?

I almost got through the first season...got sacked:mad: I was just getting the hang of it as well. Went on a 7 game unbeaten run with a couple of 4-3 victories.

Gonna start a new game and apply all my training and tactics from the start and sign a real leader too.

If you use a 4-4-2 attacking formation, the wings have the arrows going up obviously meaning the wings attack up more. When I make a custom formation how the hell to I get those arrows to make my players move in that direction?

I'd be well up for it, but the Uni connection is a bitch and won't let ya download it or play online games or anything which is a right shit.

Craig Cathcart from Man U I got for 2.8mil and he's been a star. Luis Jimnez isn't a kid really (23), but he's awesome. 2.1 mil from Temana.

im not buying the game till this patch is out. My mate bought it and he says the game is that bugged its unplayable. The worst bugs seem to be that your team can't close down the opposition at all. And also after doing one season in the SPL the fixtures do not regenerate meaning you can't do a second season.

Not heard of that SPL bug at all I know the cracked version has ridiculous bugs in it like that he hasn't used a no-cd crack has he? Closing down bug is terrible though patch is basically first coming out to fix that I think.

I am still gash at it. got half way through the second season with newcastle and got my ass sacked :'(

A lot of the time the opposition seem to be moving all over the place and lightning quick where as my guys are plods 90% of the time:mad:

And why he fuck do defenders and midfielders only close down for 1 of the ninety minutes of most games:mad:

I have had some awesome results beat liverpool 5-0 sunderland 4-0 then my team go on a losing streak stop bothering to defend properly grrrrrr it's frustrating:mad:

Any tips for improvement here people?

Ok, I have YASU and it is cloaking Daemon. How the hell do i stop using the crack? Do i have to install the game again? I took the crack out and the game didn't work, put it back in and the game worked but i couldn't get the official updates.

Ok got it working with YASU and no crack, I guess I just download any patch and it should work.....right?

So yeah where do I get the official updates from and how do I use Yasu instead of the crack.

I am still so super gash at this game. I have dowloaded the new patch so it is working better, but i am still poo :'O(

How is everyone else doing? any tips for sucess? can get on a really good run, but then things fall apart horribly. Quite frustrating. spend a lot of time on tactics and getting them right for each match which is even more annoying:mad:

Everyone has. You have to download the patch from the SI Forums...actually the full patch huld be out now...gonna check.

If you are using the cracked verion of the game the patches won't work though...you have to use YASU. CSL posted the intructions just a couple pf posts above this one.

I have finally got my head around this and am starting to pick up results that are actually down to my tatics :y: I have to say watching the match in full on high speed helps a lot...it allows you to really see what is happening and make changes accordingly.

btw Andy Carroll of NUFC is fricking awesome if you play him right.

I am getting on well with the game now. I have a good tactic that works, my players are gelling well and I have an awesome striker who the fans love. Also I have a load of youngsters that seem to be developing into good players.

Our lass bought it for me a week or two back, think she wishes she didn't now.

Anyway, in charge of the mighty Sunderland and finished 5th last season one point of the Champions League fourth place. The League was incredibly open. I started the run-in in 10th place but Defoe was available in the January transfer window and well he kicked arse. On the last day of the season, I started in 7th but was playing Man City who were 6th beat them and 5th must have drew.

I had Jonny Evans for the whole season but have not managed to sign him this season :(

Besides the lads I started with I've signed Defoe, Kewell, Sol Campbell, Benayoun, two Dutch fellas whose contracts ran out (Janssen and Sikora), Vagner Love (having problems settling :( ).

Took a gamble on some kids - Wellbeck from Man Utd the only one I can remember and an Aussie keeper from Liverpool is joining in the next January transfer window. It's a really scouting intensive game, I find, especially if you want to get to players before they get to ridiculous values.

Anyway second season and I'm in the UEFA cup because of that I am 5 games off the normal PL pace, down in 15th. Frustratingly this season I drew 3-3 at home with Chelsea (Vagner Love hat-trick) was leading most of the game but they are just too damn good. Drew with Newcastle even though they had a defender sent off! Doing well in the UEFA Cup beat Fenerbache at home in the first group game.

The board expectations have risen sharply and I don't know if I'll be able to keep them happy. They want me to challenge for the title in the next two seasons which would be possible I guess but too many clubs go in for the same player. Blackburn got relegated in my game and I really wanted David Bently (hence Benayoun as a replacement) but the bastard went with Reading or Wigan. I think the only player I have came out on top with in that type of situation is Defoe when Pompey wanted him as well.

Craig Gordon is good on the game just so happens that he is injured at the moment, I guess Darren Ward has the chance for a few games to keep in happy. The Sunderland players are all decent to start with I found although their star ratings are that good and nobody except for Stokes is expected to progress much.

Best sell - Paul McShane £7million - was chuffed although on the flip side it takes a lot of money to replace with a good defender but he wasn't worth £7million. Bolton asked me to name my price and I did.

Board decided to increase the capacity of the Stadium of Light by 16 000 seats and I requested the academy be improved because the Under 19's are bringing through crap at the moment - would rather produce talent then have to pay for it.

Bought this for the 360 on release a couple of weeks back, takes abit of getting used to navigating round the menus using a controller rather than a mouse, but its still an awesome game.

Still not finished the second season with exams and crap. Up to January though, in 8th place, through to the League Cup Semi-Final and still in the UEFA Cup. Bought a Cameroonian defensive midfielder from Villa who had only recently got him from France called Jean II Makoun - scored on his debut in the FA Cup and he kissed the badge (hoorah).
