Meh. I've never been into masked wrestlers, except Kane, but his persona was all about this huge, evil monster and the mask added to that character.

I never got into La Parka, probably because when he came on I'd switch the channel or whatever - maybe I should have a look at some old vids.

But masks for the sake of wearing a mask annoy me.

Psychosis' mask was terrible and each match of his truly tested my endurance.

la parka was fucking great, he could ACTUALLY wrestle and use a chair as his mainstay weapon in general. Remeber in WCW/NWO revenge when he always came out with the chair? shit was GREAT

All due respect DT, but I think you're wrong.
I wouldn't say The Hurricane, Kane, Mankind, Vader, The Midnight Rider, or Abyss is a luchadore. They're wrestlers.
I think being a Luchadore is deeper than just a mask. It's about your background and your style.
I'll go as far as saying Rey Mysterio isn't a luchadore anymore. According to lucha tradation if you lose your mask you cannot put it back on. That's what makes Masks vs Masks matches great. Someone is going to be forced to change. It's like being Jewish and wearing a santa hat. It just doesn't work out like that. Taking off the santa doesn't take away the fact that you had it on, albeit all these god damn marks and the sellouts in the office let is slide.

La Parka was awesome, always fun to watch. Although I think this is my favourite La Parka moment in history:

I always remember La Parka from when I used to play WCW Revenge on the Nintendo 64. If I remember correctly he had a chair at the start of the match, same with Sting bringing his bat to the ring. What a game...
