BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Talk about tempting fate. Just six days before he battles Triple H at Armageddon, Jeff Hardy will put his body on the line against Carlito in a Ladder Match during Raw’s 15th Anniversary show Monday night.

As seen first in an exclusive video on WWE Mobile at AT&T, Carlito issued the challenge to Hardy, and the Intercontinental Champion accepted with a right fist. Hardy has been more focused and intense than ever as he prepares to face Triple H in a high-stakes match at Armageddon, where the winner earns a WWE Title opportunity at Royal Rumble.

So, why is the “Rainbow-haired Warrior” putting so much on the line in the most dangerous type of match WWE has to offer just days before his pivotal match against The Game? Are there personal issues between him and Carlito? Is he a glutton for punishment?

More than likely, the explanation could be much simpler: The guy’s a daredevil at heart.

Rather than back down from challenges, Hardy embraces them. He’s a high-flyer who can’t control the urges that propel him to fearful heights from which others shy away weak-kneed.

However, he could also be sending a message to his Armageddon opponent, Triple H: Prepare to face a man who knows no fear.

Meanwhile, what’s in this Ladder Match for Carlito? The Caribbean Bad Apple, a former Intercontinental Champion himself, has suffered a couple of humiliating losses at the wee hands of Hornswoggle. He spies an opportunity to stop his slide down the WWE ladder by taking out Hardy, a Superstar who’s ascending those very same rungs. Carlito could make a definitive statement by defeating the red-hot Hardy in a match he has extensive experience in and has mastered.

Hardy may be facing an unnecessary risk by tackling Carlito in a Ladder Match, but he has stared down risks his entire career. Only this time, the stakes are considerably higher, and the Rainbow-haired Warrior may be risking his opportunity at the WWE Championship.
