I think that will be the only name on the list to honest...

actually, what supreme just did is why players hate this stuff... he just threw out a big list of names with no reasons behined it... wild speculation...

I mean, this guy got bigger or this guy hit more home runs... it's disrespectful to the players that worked hard to get where they are.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-12-2007 03:28 PM

How is it disrespectful? I said I would not be surprised if those names ended up being on the list. I'm a person who constantly defends putting McGwire in the hall and not putting an asterisk on Bonds' record. I didn't accuse anyone of anything. Please point out where I said Person A took steroids.

OssMan 12-12-2007 04:08 PM

No name would surprise me except for like David Eckstein or something. Actually nah he is a piece of shit. But I am still believe that Placido Polanco and Gabe Kapler are on roids

RP 12-12-2007 04:14 PM

I'm pretty sure Brett Boone will be one of the first mentioned...

Vinny Castilla for sure. Didnt he have cancer or something?

Chipper jones

John Smoltz

AROD I would not be shocked at all if A-rod popped up.

RP 12-12-2007 04:15 PM

Not Vinny Vastilla, Andres Galarraga

SammyG 12-12-2007 04:20 PM

by saying you wouldn't be suprised is saying you have reason to think they would vs. other players who would suprise you.

If somebody thought I took steroids when I really didn't, I would take it as a compliment not an insult so I don't really agree with the whole "disrespectful" thing

Basiclly they're calling you a cheater when you didn't cheat... I relate that to being called a Liar when you didn't Lie and for me that's a big hot button...

I'll LMFAO if there are no Red Sox on it since mitchell has a part ownership in the sox.

Also, there is talk that MLB may even try to shield if any "top stars" are on the report.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-12-2007 09:17 PM

I guess if somebody was like "I wouldn't be surprised he cheated" I'd be a little disappointed, but I wouldn't really care since I would know that I didn't cheat.

McLegend 12-12-2007 09:22 PM

I hope Clemens is on it.

Yeah and why am I not allowed to say that? This whole witch hunt has been entirely founded on stereotypes of what players and their stats should look like. Just because the players I mentioned fall into the stereotypes set forth by those in charge of the witch hunt doesn't mean I support it. It just means that they have the stats or physical changes that are consistent with what has come to be recognized as an identifier of enhancement usage by those in charge.

If I saw a Muslim in an airport wearing baggy clothes, I would be willing to bet that person was going to be searched moreso than a white man in a suit. It doesn't mean I think the Muslim's a terrorist, it means I think he fits the stereotype set by those in charge of someone who might be a terrorist. What I personally think about any of these people is irrelevant.

RP 12-12-2007 11:23 PM

I dont remember alot of stuff McGuire said at the hearings, but if he's on this list and he was found to of lied or withheld info , are they going to prosecute him like Bonds?

Supreme Olajuwon 12-12-2007 11:32 PM

I don't think so. If I remember correctly all McGwire said was he didn't want to talk about the past.

loopydate 12-12-2007 11:49 PM

Yeah, McGwire said almost nothing of note.

Placido is not on that list. If he is, I will cry myself to sleep

RP 12-13-2007 09:58 AM

When i read that MVP's would be named, assuming we arent just talking about Barry Bonds, Ken Camineti, and Jose Cansaco, the first two people that came to mind were Larry Walker and Vlad Guerrero

Evil Vito 12-13-2007 10:16 AM

<font color=goldenrod>According to Bob Klapisch in the Bergen Record, citing ‘an industry official,’ no Mets from their current 40-man roster are named in the report.

However, ‘several prominent Yankees will be named, writes Klapisch.</font>

Dragon 12-13-2007 10:25 AM

All I've been hearing is how it will be a "bad day in the Bronx" and how "several prominent Yankees will be named".

Man, I do want to know, but I also am not looking forward to hearing this.

Dragon 12-13-2007 10:31 AM

I can definitely see Clemens and Pettitte (unfortunately) on the list considering they've been linked in reports before. If Jeter, Posada, Rivera, Cano or A-Rod are on the list (from the current roster) I'd be pretty damn disappointed. I'm not sure how far back this is going but they've said former players will be on the list too. Bernie would disappoint me the most probably.

RP 12-13-2007 10:36 AM

I'm sure no Red Sox will be named. Wouldnt want Georgy getting taking off the board.

RP 12-13-2007 10:48 AM

ESPN is reporting that the personal trainer of Roger Clemens and Pettite is saying that he gave Roger Clemens steroids.

Evil Vito 12-13-2007 10:53 AM

<font color=goldenrod>I bet MLB is actually hoping some of the big name players are named in this report so they can get suspended and MLB can say "see, look! even the best, most expensive players aren't protected!!!!"</font>

Loose Cannon 12-13-2007 10:57 AM

Location: NYC.

YOUR Hero 12-13-2007 10:58 AM

You can't suspend people for doing things that were not against the rules. They are against the rules now, but this list he's to be presenting is coming from a time when the use was not against any baseball rules.

Evil Vito 12-13-2007 11:02 AM

<font color=goldenrod>If they aren't suspended, I'm willing to bet some sort of asterik is placed during the season in which the drugs were purchased for each player implicated.

Either way, every place I'm reading says there will be some sort of punishment.

Guess Yankee fans can breathe a sigh of relief because I'm hearing that Jeter and Rivera are NOT on the list. Wouldn't shock me at all though if Posada is though.</font>

Innovator 12-13-2007 11:03 AM

Clemens has been named before the report is even out

CMoooooooooooooon Ortiz or Manny, big money big money

RP 12-13-2007 11:03 AM

maybe the greatest pitcher ever getting tattooed as a steroid user is probably not what baseball wanted at all. Its worse then a suspension. We're talking about a complete and epic legacy ruined if this proven.

RP 12-13-2007 11:09 AM

i'm gunna laugh so hard if no Red Sox are named

Dragon 12-13-2007 11:13 AM

The greatest hitter and the greatest pitcher of the past era in Bonds and Clemens linked to steroids is pretty unfortunate.

RP 12-13-2007 11:13 AM

I hope Ken Griffey Jr isnt linked to this. He was my hero in baseball.

Innovator 12-13-2007 11:25 AM

Yeah Griffey would be sad

Loose Cannon 12-13-2007 11:28 AM

If I was a player who had a chance to be on that list, I would be shittin bricks right now

Why? it wasn't against the rules, why an "*"?

I just heard on the radio someone has a partial list... a lot of yankees... the only two current Red Sox they have so far ar Tavarez and V-Tek.

VonErichLives 12-13-2007 01:19 PM

So, a list got leaked and it was from bloomberg... they were contacted and said they didn't send a list.

msnbc sites wnbc and puts out the whole list and now wnbc says the list has some errors.

NEW YORK -- WNBC.com's Jonathan Dienst has obtained names expected to be on George Mitchell's list of baseball players linked to performance-enhancing drugs in major league baseball. Baseball officials are refuting several names on the list

A high-ranking MLB official said there are several errors in the list provided to WNBC.com by two sources. Our two sources are standing by the preliminary list provided to WNBC.com. Therefore, we are working to clarify the list at this time

http://www.wnbc.com/sports/14845845/detail.html

Dragon 12-13-2007 01:22 PM

Yeah, saw that partial list or whatever online somewhere. Who knows if its right or not but the names seemed believable. There were Yankees on it but none of the ones I would call "prominent" - A-Rod, Jeter, Posada, Rivera besides Pettitte

FakeLaser 12-13-2007 01:22 PM

None of the Yankees named shocked me except Damon, although, I guess I can see it. Just look at how he broke down last year.

Dragon 12-13-2007 01:25 PM

Yeah, Damon was a little surprising from that list. Farnsworth was probably the least surprising ever though. Again, who knows if that list is accurate but it seems believable.

VonErichLives 12-13-2007 01:26 PM

If you go by the Stereotype Damon shouldn't shock anyone... look at him in KC and then look at him his final year with the Red Sox.

VonErichLives 12-13-2007 01:27 PM

the only one I've heard from the "possible" partial list that suprised me was Trot Nixon... if you ever hear this guy talk, every other word is god this or jesus christ that... just didn't strike me as the type.

Yeah, Pettitte doesn't shock me or anything since he's been linked before with Clemens. He just didn't seem like the "type" that would do it. What the "type" is I have no idea. Just the feeling or whatever.

I'm with SammyG, Andruw Jones for sure.

VonErichLives 12-13-2007 01:39 PM

my question is how many players did it to get better and how many did it after injuries.

I see a lot of players who has injury problems and wonder if they turned to that to heal better/faster not improve performance.

Yeah, I hope the report differentiates between those who did it for personal gain and those who had legitimate reasons for using them.

Clemens is fucked... looks like Canseco got him on it back with the Blue Jays.

VonErichLives 12-13-2007 03:26 PM

I don't see a lot of the "list" in the report.

Only 2 big former sox names I found were Clemens and Vaughn.

some big yankees: Clemens, Pettite, Knobloch, Justice, Kevin Brown.

SammyG 12-13-2007 03:27 PM

lol Kevin Brown. Also, I think Bob Sanders is on this.

OssMan 12-13-2007 03:35 PM

when did he start talking? 2:15 i heard him on the radio and they went to commercial or something? now he is talking on ESPN what

Dragon 12-13-2007 03:39 PM

Yeah, doesn't seem like some of those big names from that "list" are on it. It seems like a lot of people everyone knew or assumed.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-13-2007 03:39 PM

I heard that dude talking too Sammy, I thought it was Borat lol

No Nomar on the report, I knew he was clean

Dragon 12-13-2007 03:43 PM

No Damon, Farnsworth, Varitek, Pujols, etc...from that "list" from earlier.

Saw a lot of former Yankees while looking through it..Knoblauch, Justice, Villone

Really no huge names that people haven't heard before though

SammyG 12-13-2007 03:45 PM

God damn, that report really has a shitload of names. Baseball is going downhill, yo.

Also yeah Stima, I was dying laughing. lol @ the idea of Borat there.

SammyG 12-13-2007 03:45 PM

is there just a simple list someone could post in here? That pdf is like 25434534 pages

Dragon 12-13-2007 03:47 PM

It has a shitload of names, but pretty much all have been linked to steroids before this whole report. At least from what I've seen, not many new names or whatever

MVP 12-13-2007 03:50 PM

lol Eric Gagne, should have taken then this season

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-13-2007 03:52 PM

Its nuts how they have photocopy of checks/package slips at the end of the document

Loose Cannon 12-13-2007 03:57 PM

yea, I love that they included them. Kind of sucks about Andy. I want to read some of them when I get home later.

Dragon 12-13-2007 03:58 PM

I dunno. The only one that really irks me is Pettitte. There was a lot of Yankees players but none that really annoyed me like Pettittes name. Justice, Knoblauch, Villone, Stanton I could care less about.

Clemens career is now with Bonds' really. Ridiculous that the best hitter and best pitcher of that era are both involved with steroids.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 12-13-2007 03:59 PM

All these guys deserve the same treatment as Barry Bonds IMO

SammyG 12-13-2007 03:59 PM

Wooooo, no Dodgers on the report.

SammyG 12-13-2007 04:00 PM

Current ones, at least.

Evil Vito 12-13-2007 04:05 PM

<font color=goldenrod>LOL Fernando Vina. Has to show his face on Baseball Tonight</font>

Dragon 12-13-2007 04:08 PM

I guess Pettitte got involved when rehabbing his elbow. I dunno, it doesn't make it right or better in any way but it makes me feel a little better about the situation. Still no excuse or anything obviously and doesn't make it an okay thing to do but I guess I'd rather hear that then just taking it for the sake of taking it.

ct2k 12-13-2007 04:13 PM

VEL why would you consider Kevin Brown a yankee at all before say, a Ranger or a Dodger? Not to mention the Marlins or Padres, both of whom he WS'd it up with

Its like look at the list of players, find every guy who's played for the Sox or Yankee's and go OMFG LOOK

The bigger issue here, that half the damn MLB roster has juiced, and that the MLB has no credibility left at all seems to have slipped some people's minds.

Dragon 12-13-2007 04:24 PM

The thing with all the guys that played for New York is that is where Radomski or whatever had his business. And a big portion of the guys named in this report are from Radomski. So when the guy giving all the information is based in NY and operates out of NY you should kinda expect a lot of NY players to be on it.

ct2k 12-13-2007 04:29 PM

I guess so.

Anyway yeah, the MLB is a joke, I mean we all knew that a few years ago now but really this is just an official declaration of how pathetic it is.

Supreme Olajuwon 12-13-2007 06:02 PM

There is no freaking way Albert Belle and Brady Anderson are not on that list. That is incredible.

Loose Cannon 12-13-2007 06:04 PM

it's only a couple suppliers named on there. I'm sure there's a boatload of other suppliers out there and you'll find hundreds of other names.
