4 Guitar Hero Games in 2008!
In the new EGM magazine there is an article about it thats already making its rounds in the forums...
2008 will See 4 new Guitar Hero games.... Guitar Hero 4 Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and 2 untitled Guitar Hero projects.... There is also a some talk about that with them dropping four games this year alone that downladable content for Guitar Hero is pretty much going to go in the shitter. |
|
Wow, the milking of this series is pretty ridiculous, considering its age and the fact you can get downloadable content now.
|
4 in 1 year is pretty fucking crazy
|
I don't give a fuck I will buy them all.
|
|
Should have stopped at 2.
|
Interesting...
|
na 3 should of been the last.. then just bring out big downloads like... 1200 for metallica edtion and you get like 10 songs.
|
There is such thing as too much of a good thing.
|
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
|
Guitar Hero: The Who
Guitar Hero: Pearl Jam I would be forever happy. |
A Metallica version would make me insane...
My friend and I were wondering if Guitar Hero was gonna sell out and just start putting songs that dont even have great guitar. Dance Dance Revolution is doing a Disney Channel version in a few months. When will Guitar Hero do the same... younger fans would buy the game up probably if they are able to play songs from Highschool Musical, Hannah Montana or perhaps the Cheetah Girl movies.. |
Guitar Hero: Naked Brothers Band
|
Guitar Hero: Papa Roach.
:shifty: |
Guitar Hero: Emopalooza
|
Seriously, I'd be all over a Keyboard Hero, namely because you'd likely need to actually know how to play the fucking thing instead of mashing buttons.
I'm lame, I know. "You need to KNOW how to play it? That's a baby's toy!" |
Thats rather gay.
|
So what, because you'd need to LEARN something more than five buttons it's gay?
|
Try mashing buttons in Guitar Hero, see how far it gets you.
|
I'm not saying it would work (I've never played it and never plan to play it, for the record), just saying at least a Keyboard Hero would actually give you a skill instead of a meaningless set of controls which could give you nothing in life.
Aside from Penis Envy. |
It's a video game. Is it really necessary for it to teach you skills?
You wanna play rock songs, pick up a real guitar and learn it. You wanna have some quick fun and feel like a rock star, play Guitar Hero. |
And I doubt a Keyboard Hero would teach you how to play a real one. Maybe the basics. But the control would be massively simplified, just like Guitar Hero. Maybe 10 keys tops.
|
It's such a shame that the general population is so stupid that they would have to resort to that.
The game would probably be ridiculously simplified, you're right, and it's a shame. |

Speaks the truth to be honest. |
On the other hand, Rock Band's expert drum setting gets you on your way to drumming for real.
|
I had assumed that would have had to be pretty realistic.

That is, the guys at Harmonix who designed Guitar Hero. Sorry. |
Come on, get off guitar hero's nuts xero. From what I've seen guitar hero has inspired more people to actually learn guitar than it has detracted people from learning. To play a lot of the songs as well as you feel like you are playing them in GH would take years of tedious and repetitive practice. If it is truly a goal of yours to play these songs for real, no one is going to say "Oh well I can play it on GH, thats good enough." But some people, like myself, have other hobbies and interests that they feel much more passionate about. Life is short, and I don't want to sacrifice the other things I want to do in life to master these songs on a real guitar. So it is an outlet for those of us who want to feel like a rockstar, but not so much that we want to become one.
|
Guitar Hero has helped me with my crippled fingers, actually.
Also, it encouraged me to learn a couple of songs. I'm not really playing leads, but I'm playing them. f course, I was already playing guitar. |

I wonder how long it will take them to do Guitar Hero: Acoustics. I would probably pick that up if it had support for RB guitars and a decent track list.

This better be on PS2, I don't want to buy a PS3 Yet. |

I really wish it had a free-form drum mode. I always play quick beats before a song starts since that's the closest thing to free-stylin that's in the game. |
Post #33-#36 = Archive.

FFS over the initial shock of seeing it and not looking closely, I see that its a fake :'( I was to kill the fucker who made that

|
I'm guessing Kapoutman included an image, but I can't see it.
FA, use your head. |

Yeah it introduced me to some songs and bands I never heard of, and now I like.

They should just make it so you have to play a real guitar in the next game so I can kill two birds with one stone.

Anyway, I love that comic. |
This is proof that Joe Perry is in fact, Jesus Christ himself.

You know if these were budget games I wouldn't mind, but full price for this would be insane.
|
They probably will be "expansions," which would put them directly in the "budget" area.
|
Got my February EGM, which has this story in the Quartermann section. Interesting thing is the last line: "...one may star a group that rocks in mysterious ways".
U2 Hero? |
That article seems to imply U2 will star in a game, not have their own whole game. Hopefully it is early U2.

LOL yes, Bill Bailey > all
|
As long as they can put some real good songs that are challenging but not ridiculous to do, then I'm all for it. I just NOW got into GH, and this is good news for me to see that they aren't going to stop making games when I'm just starting to get into a fad (like what happens every other time I get into something).
By the way, Dragonforce's song on GH3 (which, btw, is fucking AWESOME) is the biggest reason why you CAN'T mash buttons on GH (try it even on easy). |
lol bill bailey is legend

....It's official. You suck. |
I’ll back up the DragonForce thing
I’d never heard of them before, but I liked them. It’s cheesy CHEESY rock, but I still love it |
It's GAY rock....
|
If it was instrumental, it wouldn't be, but alas....

No, the guitars alone are pretty faggy.
I mean, even for metal, which is only rivaled by rap for gayest music ever. |

I don't get all the love that the "Through the Fire and Flames" song get. It gets annoying to play after a couple of minutes and it never seems to end. Cliffs of Dover is my favorite song to play in the game. Short enough, with just enough rythm and difficulty to be fun without falling into a contest of who can tear his hand apart the quickest to get every note, like the aforementioned Dragonforce song, or Raining Blood. Raining Blood looks like they added notes to hit that aren't even in the song.

By the way, since we're talking about the DF song on GH3 right now, here's someone that is just fucking SICK!! A five star performance of that song on Expert (NO one should be able to do THIS):

"No one should be able to do this!"
ROFL. Just ROFL. BTW, the DRagonforce guitarist can't play his own shit live. Why is it any surprise, or even remotely impressive that he can't beat the song in game? |
Sure it’s Gay rock
But it’s fine by me I’m comfortable with my rockulaity I can find an appeal in the lifestyle, but choose not to live it, is that so wrong children? |

To be fair, you probably shouldn't have even pointed out that a member of DragQueenForce failed the song, since it's not a conventional guitar. It doesn't hurt what I said any (since the guitarist can't play his songs on a conventional guitar, either). It does kind of make what you pointed out look stupid, though. To be fair, you should probably think before you post. And DF's guitarist still can't play his own shit live. |
Quote:
Maybe you just fail the song every time you try it and don't want to admit it. ;) |
STEP AWAY FROM THE ARGUMENT!!!!!!
|

That WOULD be a stupid reason to call you an idiot. Fortunately, that has less to do with my argument, and more with you being a douchebag who's too stupid to argue what was said. |
I want Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The '90s. I want it bad.
|
Why do I have a feeling that they are going to make a Guitar Hero: Country Edition at some point?
Might be interesting, just for curiosity at what kind of songs they would add. Not sure if I would want to see them try it, though. |
