Wrestlers that you don't like but everyone else does.

Mick Foley. I hate that guy. He used to be good. But when I see him now a days, I get pissed because he is boring and irrelevent now.

Porcupine 01-17-2008 02:02 PM

London/Kendrick.

Yeah, they're good in the ring and all, but they generally bore me.

Londrick isn't even in the ring anymore. I swear, Vince just hates cruisers and tag teams, so he buries them constantly.

Throw in Edge, on the grounds that everyone's deep throating him as some sort of über talented master-heel, and I think he belongs at midcard level.

He deserves to be in the title scene more than Lashley, Batista, Rey, Kennedy, Orton, Cena, and Flair. But that isn't saying much, I'm just saying current state of wrestling, he is a maineventer. He is far away from being an uber heel, but he is better than you give him credit for.

Yeah, the problem being, like you said, that my aging mother is more deserving of the main event than most of those guys. And she's got MS.

I think you are mistaken because you don't know what Scott Steiner is CAPA-BULL off!

Xerzes 01-17-2008 10:16 PM

Ric Flair.

Mr. Nerfect 01-17-2008 10:33 PM

Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair.

All three men are/were great, but they're a little overrated. Triple H is one of the most overrated wrestlers ever. Nowhere near good enough to justify his position. Shawn Michaels is a great wrestler, but people act as if he could wrestle water and turn it into gold, and like the man is never boring. I've slept through my fair share of Shawn Michaels' matches.

Ric Flair is a legend, no doubt about it, but he's never really done anything for me. His promos are often incoherent, and while I've only really followed this later portion of his career, people claiming that he can still work better than half the roster is ridiculous. The man often looks blown up and sickly in the ring. He needs to retire.

Skippord 01-17-2008 10:43 PM

Santino
Ric Flair

Yup. The Smark crush is over.

Just a question, not an attack, but if you claim to never watch, how would you know how good or bad Edge is as a heel?

JT 01-17-2008 11:35 PM

Triple H

These days it seems like the smarks are all over him, but he's annoyed the shit out of me since 2002.

Shaggy 01-17-2008 11:55 PM

John Cena
Jeff Hardy
Undertaker
Batista
Rey Mysterio

Indifferent Clox 01-18-2008 12:00 AM

Who exactly likes John Cena and Batista or really Rey anymore?

I guess I don't like Undertaker much or most big guys besides maybe Tomko and Big Show. Sometimes Kane. Homicide. Lesnar. .. well that's really it.

Really, I have far more wrestlers on the opposite side of the coin. Some of my favorite guys are wrestlers that everybody else hates: Gene Snitsky, HG, El Generico, Chuck Palumbo, The Boogeyman, etc...

TerranRich 01-18-2008 01:59 PM

Santino. I mean, he's OK and all, but... nothing to write to Italy about.

What about back in the day? I never liked nWo Hogan. Never.

That's right, I forgot. Edge has just become a main eventer. My bad.

Theo Dious 01-18-2008 03:44 PM

A lot of people seem high on Kenny Dykstra, though I can't see why. I don't really give a shit about him.

TerranRich 01-18-2008 04:06 PM

Never question Kane Knight. Sarcasm is his middle name and he's DRIPPING with it. ;)

Kane

jcmoorehead 01-18-2008 04:34 PM

Never been too struck on Kennedy or Carlito. They just seem too generic and have never impressed me in the ring either.

Theo Dious 01-18-2008 04:41 PM

Additionally, I never gave much of a shit about Mr. Hassan either.

He reminds them of Owen Hart, and they want to jump on the bandwagon before he swandives onto a turnbuckle.

O WAIT, I C WUT U DID THAR

Chavo Classic 01-19-2008 08:50 AM

Hornswoggle.

I've not watched wrestling as much as in previous years, but I caught Smackdown in a hotel when I was over in India and there's this skit where Hornie is confronted by Carlito.

He paints what I assume was meant to be a hole in the wall using his black spraypaint cannister and runs through (thankfully, out of the view of the camera). Carlito tries to chase him through like that Wile E. Coyote and gets a face full of wall.

Now, I assume this whole segment was meant to get Hornswoggle over (as presumably it wasn't meant to make Carlito, supposedly a big heel, look stupid) but I'm asking myself who is this meant to appeal to? New viewers or semi-casual viewers are going to scoff and turn this off, and the existing fanbase might be so insulted that they turn their back on the show.

To me, Hornswoggle adds nothing to the show and is detrimental to the product's image. They could better spend the 20 plus or so minutes allocated to this midget on helping get existing or new talent over to help their long-term image.

NeanderCarl 01-19-2008 10:28 AM

This probably won't be popular, but I never saw the huge appeal of the members of a group once known as the Radicalz. Benoit and Saturn just bored me (even though Benoit had some classic matches, 90% of the time he bored the shit out of me). Guerrero had a lot of character but when the bell rang, he never did much for me. I loved Malenko in the ring, but the man needed a charisma transplant.

Also, smarks used to have a hard on for Shane Douglas, which I never understood.

Chavo Classic 01-19-2008 11:09 AM

The Radicalz as a group were horribly booked and the loss of their biggest performer in Eddie on their first night hurt their appeal, but you can't seriously dismiss the talents of Malenko, Benoit and Guerrero as independents.

Saturn who?

Fox 01-19-2008 11:15 AM

Dean Malenko

The Lone Wolf 01-19-2008 01:20 PM

As of right now i still can enjoy a samoa joe match but with the direction his character is going he is getting hard to watch.

Kane Knight 01-19-2008 01:24 PM

The Radicalz were pretty lame as a stable, I agree.

i agree with this to an extent. i can not watch a hogan match but at the same time i appreciate what he has done for the company.

NeanderCarl 01-19-2008 01:49 PM

I didn't just mean the Radicalz as a team, although that sucked. I mean individually too. All but Saturn had their good points, don't get me wrong, but were certainly held in far too high a regard.

Also, I've tried to like him, I really have, but C.M. Punk just doesn't interest me.

Chavo Classic 01-19-2008 03:19 PM

CM Punk is overrated. That doesn't necessarily mean he's bad however. It just means that when people finally do get round to watching one of his matches, they don't understand the fuss, and as a result, they feel cheated and dislike him.
