Bathturd has been flushed down the toilet.

Former ECW champion Bobby Lashley, who was expected to return from his injuries this month, has parted ways with World Wrestling Entertainment, according to Lashley's official website.

Lashley, who debuted with the Smackdown brand in 2005, moved to the ECW brand in December 2006 with the idea that the brand would be built around him. He received a huge promotional push and won the ECW belt at the December to Dismember PPV.

WWE's push continued featuring Lashley going right a Wrestlemania 23 headline match against Umaga with Donald Trump and Vince McMahon as their respective seconds which was promoted heavily to the media due to Trump's involvement and the hair vs. hair stipulation that saw McMahon shaved bald in the center of the ring.

The Wrestlemania match led to a feud with McMahon where Lashley lost and regained the ECW title. Lashley was drafted to the Raw brand in June 2007 and vacated the ECW belt. He had been out of the ring since last July, when he finally took time off to have surgery and rehab rotator cuff and shoulder problems that had been nagging him for several months.

On the forum of his official website, www.BobbyLashleyOnline.com, Lashley commented, "Circumstances, which are out of my control left me no decision but to leave the WWE. I can't go into details of this now but like I said before, sometimes people will hate you personally and try to destroy you, which has happened here. Evil has prevailed. However like I said before, if you continue your struggle, doors will open around these people. You have not seen the last of me, so please don't stop your support. Add Bobby Lashley to the list of RECENTLY RELEASED!"

Lashley, a former amateur champion who also served in the Army, originally signed with the company in 2003 and spent time in Ohio Valley Wrestling before being brought up to the main roster.

Lashley teased a potential MMA interest on 1/16, writing, "I am not sure what I will be doing the next few months. I said I am in fighting shape because if I am not wrestling, I will be fighting. Wrestling is my passion but sometimes things are out of your control. The time off I've had was well needed and was not in vain. I had surgery in August, which was pretty serious. I had to have 5 connectors put in my shoulder to repair my torn labrum. I was slated to be out for 6 months but I think that diagnosis was for an average person. I’m ready for action and I have been for some time now. Whatever action that may be, I will be ready."

Lashley noted that he had just purchased a home in Parker, Colorado and that he expected WWE to acknowledge the release by the end of the week. Word of his departure made its way around the WWE locker room at tonight's Smackdown and ECW taping. As of this writing, he is still listed on the Raw brand's roster page

It's not April 1st yet.

How many "e"s in Swerve?

If it was even him that posted that.

I'll believe it when I see it on WWE.com. However if this is true then that is very shocking!

Remember, Booker T parted with the company well before they actually announced it on WWE.com

BigDaddyCool 01-23-2008 10:48 AM

I'm not shocked if this is true. He wasn't nothing special anyhow.

Rammsteinmad 01-23-2008 10:48 AM

And you need to register to join the forum, someting that to be honest I can't be fucked to do.

It is on Wikipedia, though it's up to you whether you wanna believe it or not.

Looks like TNA gets another wash-up... Borby Lorshly.

KingofOldSchool 01-23-2008 10:50 AM

I say he pulled a Jerry Lawler and packed his bags too after Kristal quit.

Innovator 01-23-2008 10:50 AM

High five

But damn him for not coming back from injury, not giving me the chance to make fun of his cruiserweight body

Porcupine 01-23-2008 10:51 AM

Porcupine 01-23-2008 11:00 AM

Honestly, I think he will be resigned within the year.

He will realize "I maed a boo boo guys, I want back into WWE"

and WWE will say,

"We love ya bobby"

And then wrestlers will job to him.

And we thought he was going to win the Rumble. Maybe this is just a publicity stunt. A lot of kids and women are going to miss him.

BigDaddyCool 01-23-2008 11:23 AM

Outsider, it could be roids, and it could be his woman got fired for being dumb. He might have a big head and think he is awesome. In some of the reports Boone posted, he mentioned people were being evil, which means he is stupid.

Then a black guy with a huge push with the initials BL quits..

I can't wait to see the asian guy that gets the big push with the initials BL

Great news. Looks like he'll be off to TNA then.

Good thread title btw.

She didn't like the angle she was in, and was being manipulative about it instead of going to talk to the approrate people and she was an all around bitch. From what I understand.

from Dave Scherer at PWInsider

Here is the latest on the Bobby Lashley-WWE situation. Lashley has definitely informed WWE that he wants to leave the company. There are a lot of reasons for him wanting to do so. The word we have gotten is that part of it has to do with how his girlfriend Kristal Marshall was treated by the company when she balked at being paired with Edge and doing the Lita gimmick, and was then quickly released. Let's just say that there is a line of thought that at least part of why she didn't want to do the angle was fear of a racial element being added to the storyline by the Smackdown creative staff.

I have also heard of other issues behind the scenes where Lashley reportedly feels like he hasn't been treated well himself while he has been out rehabbing. There is said to have been little communication between Lashley and Vince McMahon and no firm plans in place to get him back on TV now that his injury has healed and this was frustrating to him.

At this point, Lashley needs to negotiate an official release from WWE as he is still under contract (and thus is still listed on the company website). As always in this business, things can change at the drop of a hat but for now, his plan is to move on from WWE and then plan the next phase of his life.

I actually disagree. I think right before he got injured he was getting better because i think he was on the verge of a much needed heel turn.

KYR 01-23-2008 07:51 PM

Good Heels need Good mic skills. IMO a heel turn for him would have made little difference.

Also, good riddance. WWE doesn't need any more no-charisma hosses. Plus, Lashley in MMA could be the goods. I heard he was an excellent amateur wrestler.

Honestly, Bobby Lashley had a ton of potential. In the ring, he was not that bad. His work on SmackDown! was great. The WWE just decided to stop using him as this great amateur wrestler with a monster body, and started to push him as a brawling powerhouse, or something.

If I were TNA, or even ROH, I'd be making offers. ROH probably doesn't have the money to keep Lashers happy, but TNA could certainly scrape some dough together. Kurt Angle vs. Bobby Lashley, in theory, could be very similar to Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar, and that is not a bad thing. TNA would probably get Lashley a mouthpiece, too, which is the way to go with him. Jim Mitchell + Bobby Lashley - Abyss shit = Potential buys.

Fox 01-23-2008 11:36 PM

I don't give TNA credit to use Lashley right when they can't use half of their current roster right. BL would be wise to stay away from TNA while it's still under the Jarrett/Russo regime.

If Bobby Lashley really did leave the WWE (Which I doubt, im pretty sure all of these news are fake nonsense), then I expect him to debut in TNA as none other than Abyss' latest secret. He would attack Abyss on behalf of James Mitchell and later be revealed that Abyss HAS a brother...that brother will turn out to be Bobby Lashley!

Frustrating? What a wanker. Try being a midcarder for life despite muchos talent, like a lot of his more experienced peers. He got handed a main event push on a silver platter, yet throws a little hissy fit coz "me and Vince, we just don't talk anymore, ya know?"

Get a grip, Lashley, and be grateful for the push you should never have had to begin with.

This is what happens with the new breed of wrestlers because the their road scholarship and experience is in OVW and then pushed on WWE tv.

The breed of wrestlers who worked their way through different promotions and worked in Mexico and Japan is all but dead. Now it's just a bigger version of Tough Enough.

I liked to original tough enough, it was a good show.

I'm mildy suprised Batista hasn't acted like this yes, but he is slightly different as he was in his mid 30's when he started wrestling and new what it was like to want and be with out. While he wasn't a road vet when he started out, he was mentally mature enough to know his place I suppose. Anyhow wrestlers need to start paying dues before just being handed top positions again.

He wasn't mainevent level though, that is why everyone is apathetic. He was upper mid card at best. Prior to his injury he jobbed to Ken Kennedy who is midcard to upper mid card. Before that he jobbed to Cena, which means he was on raw. And before that, he was ECW champ and fueding with Umaga and Vince McMahon, which means upper mid card again.

WWE was clearly pushing him to be a maineventer and probably would have built a show around him, but he isn't or wasn't a mianeventer before this.
