It's taking over the Grey's Anatomy slot and avoiding having to compete with American Idol. Pretty smart move and now that it's back in the 9 PM slot and not having much competition, it should be up there in ratings hopefully. 8 episodes is definitely better than nothing.

With it only being 8 episodes long I am expecting it to be non stop awesomeness

Well with the first episode of season 4 titled "The beginning of the End" one can only hope that they're no longer going to rely on filler episodes.

I didn't ever finish watching season 3. What happened? I got ot like episode 5.

The island was invaded by japenese soilders. Most of them had beards, but some of them were really clean shaven.....total head fuck.

Is it confirmed that this season is cut to 8 episodes?

Unless the writer's strike is resolved soon, most likely 8 this year, 24 next year, 16 the final year instead of the 16/16/16 break down they had planned.

Hell yes. Never been this excited for the start of a season of a TV show. Same thing every time a new season of Lost starts :D

Yeah, Charlie dies after swimming down to the underwater 'Looking Glass' station to shut off a signal blocker. When he's down there, Mikhail blows a port hole up with a grenade and Charlie locks the door with water flooding in, therefore saving Desmond but condemning himself to death (Desmond told him he would die beforehand)

In black: We find out about Claire and Jack through flashbacks. Christian (Jack's dad) had an affair with a woman who went back to Australia. He'd go and see them but was eventually 'barred'. He then goes to Australia however long later and then we find out the daughter is Claire.

Anthony Cooper had a car crash and was kidnapped. Ben's way of telling Locke about it was 'Imagine a box where anything you ever wished was inside it' or something like that.

I need to watch last nights season finale... I Tivo'd it but didnt get to watch it cause I thought it was a normal episode. Turns out there was little inside info on the bottom of the screen the whole time.

Im excited for Lost tonight but im also a little angry. When I signed up for classes I did it for Thursday night...then right after I did that they decided to move lost to Thursday. Now I gotta Tivo it and wait till I get home from class to check it out.

One might suggest....it was meant to happen?

And here I thought that this a was a 2-hour premeire. Instead, hour 1 is a recap, and hour 2 is the real deal.

hmm... thought more would be revealed this episode (the ads exposed more) but it is Lost, and Lost kicks ass!

Ben didn't have too many options, lol after leaving Locke for dead, he goes along with Locke, of course for the cause.

Great first episode.

Spoiler: I was curious why Charlie disappeared in Hurley's flash forward even though he said he was "real", because the other mental patient said he saw Charlie too, but then I realized that Hurley must be imagining him too, along with Charlie. Also really curious what Jack and Hurley were talking about in at the end of the flash forward when Hurley asked if Jack came to see him to see if he "told".

Every episode will be a flash forward of a different one of the 6 people who got off the island. Each episode will end with Jack visiting them about going back to the island.

No Real info was given in this episode that I can think of except for that we now know that.... 6 people make it off the island: Jack, Kate, Hurley and 3 unknown

We knew Jack and Kate got off the island along with others but we did not know how many other people and who else. For those who didnt watch the episode yet I wanted to put Hurley and 6 people in black because I felt someone might of read that and screamed SPOILER at me.



As far as your question...Im not sure but now atleast I can listen to the podcast again and hopefully discover some new info.

I dont think that guy who saw Charlie was part of Hurley's imagination.

If you think about it, they must've only put that bit in there to prove it's not 'Dave' all over again. I mean, Hurley could've noticed Charlie himself.

When Hurley and Jack were talking about whether Hurley "told", I'm pretty sure they mean if he had told anyone that there was still people on the island.

That would be my guess as well.

Just watched it now, dunno if it's the hangover or whatever but I thought it was a bit MEH. And I'm a fucking massive lost fan aswell.

Fucking loved that ep. ending was lame though.

To the guy who tallied up the people of 3, the 3 who made it off the island, you forgot this...(in black).... jack, kate and hurley did make it off, but one of the 6, or someone associated with the islanders eventually kills themself.

You also have to keep in mind...that the flash-forwards from the ending of last season were after what we saw this episode. So the dead person could be Hurley.

It was a decent episode, but it wasn't a good season starting episode.

The start of the previous 3 have been:

The Crash
The Hatch (and the others after the break)
The other island

There was no real revelations in this one, just felt like another episode as it didn't really reveal anything as it's in the middle of something, rather than starting something new.

Regarding spoilers from now on, how long we going to wait? Its on over here on Sunday nights, I think that's long enough. If anyone doesn't want to be spoiled, they shouldn't be on a Lost thread after a new episode has been aired, I know I won't be.

Right onto the question/theories (there will be spoilers)

There’s 4 (or 3 is Hurely is dead) people that we know got off the Island. Hurley left with Locke, which would lead me to believe that the next few episodes will be about getting off the island, potentially the who 8 of them, as right now there’s only 2 people that want to be rescued (Jack and Kate)

I think Charlie is real, wasn’t the guy who pointed him out the same dude he was playing connect 4 with near the beginning of the episode

Got to agree with the ‘Have you told’ about there being more survivors left, this would indicate that right now even Darhma (assuming that black guy was from them) don’t know how to get back to the island, but for some reason Jack does, as he was trying to recruit Kate and and Charlie was telling Hurley to get them off, so maybe the oceanic 6 know more than Darhma right now

We know another member of the Oceanic 6 is with Kate (or her child), which would lead me to think it’s Sawyer

The Oceanic 6 are said to be: Sun, Jin, Kate, Jack, Hurley and Sayid.

It's interesting to think that we expected the "him" that Kate referenced in the Season 3 finale was Sawyer, when he left with Locke. Having said that...Hurley went with Locke too.

I wasn't blown away by the episode but I think it will prove to be a launch pad for a great run of episodes (even if there are only 8 of them!!)

There is no fucking way that coffin was for Hurley unless he had lipo. And when Jack presented Kate with the piece of newspaper, at the end of Season 3 in the flash forward and asked if she went, she looked disgusted/shocked that Jack would even ask if she would go, she even said, 'why would I go' I think. I think the funeral was for Ben.

There was another theory that it was for Michael, mainly because it was in a black neighbourhood

Dunno, cus the coffin is pretty small, like in height.

It seems to me though, it would make sense for it to be Ben. Say the 'Oceanic 6' are Kate, Hurley, Jin, Sun, Jack and Sayid, or any 6 of the cast, it would just seem fitting for it to be Ben since he has no life/world to go back to, he was practically living on the Island as a young child, his mother is dead and prolly chilling in the whispering forest with Christian Shepard and, I dunno, its all he knows....the Island. A man forced to go somewhere he has no history or feeling with, good cause for suicide since he loves his Island.

The coffin looked to be his length.

Kate almost looked disgusted when Jack asked if she went, but then Jack has a reason to since I think after whatever happens up to the point where he is telling Kate they need to go back, which they blatantly will, that he had made all the wrong choices....its like he realizes the Island is where he belongs....that he now believe in fate and meaning, something Locke said he did believe, he just doesn't know it yet (right before they blew the hatch open).

Its like he has learned his lesson also from Ben, like he regrets ever calling the freighter.



Fuckin loving it though, how come Charlie was seen by that other patient? I don't get that, seems like on the island, Hurley has just kinda found out if he concentrates and believes certain things are not there (Jacob's house) then it is proven to be fake, yet how did the patient see him if he disappears?

ALSO.....

I could be and prolly am wrong.....but I thought the guy Hurley was sitting opposite in the mental hosptial....he looked like Karl, Alex's fella?

Remember, the Oceanic 6 are presumably the only survivors KNOWN to have gotten off the island. That's not to say no one else made it off. The 6 may just be the only ones the world at large knows of.

Exactly, so Ben, not having any kind of life or proof he exists in the real world, which I assume is the case considering how/where he was born, he could just blend into the real world without anyone caring.

I jus think there is more to it based on how Kate acted at the runway and how Jack goes about the whole subject of the person and funeral in question.

I'm liking where this is heading.

I bet Jin and Miles are going to turn out to know each other.......

Hurley imagined the other patient as well, seems like the easiest explanation.

I think, that the funeral was for Ben or Locke. If Locke then I think Locke will be revealed as a bad guy eventually.

I like Miles and Dan. They seem more interesting than the other 2 boaters.

Decent episode.

Just thinking though, how are they gonna make this last 3 more seasons? I dunno, just seems like the story would be coming to a close soon after them showing life after the island and all that. Really should be interesting.

Good episode, but not one scene with Desmond, damn it.

I fucking love Ben in the love to hate him kind of way. I really wanted Sawyer to shoot him but then realised I would miss him ha.

Remember in last seasons finale Jack was telling Kate that they needed to go back. All this fast forwards this season look like they take place before that happened. My guess is that they get off the island by the end of this season and then in the next season they end up (or atleast some of them like Jack of course) goes back to the island for what ever the unfinished business is.

Love the big twist at the end. Ben really got his bases and ass covered good. Bad ass Sawyer = good.
