You answered your own question, this is about individual choices, not choices as a whole, if it were about collective choices, the Beatles would likely win by default, as for Jackson over Sabbath, if you like country (Jackson is a big name) more then Metal (Sabbath is a huge name) then because of your taste in music, you will pick Jackson

Also, for several of those bands, I voted for who I disliked less. I could care less about Modest Mouse and Kayne West, for example, but Modest Mouse doesn't irritate me, and Kanye does.
The shitty thing is, there are several where I really LIKE both bands, too. Queen and the Smashing Punpkins, for example, because they're near the bottom of the list and easy to find. SP are awesome, but I cannot. Vote. Againt. Queen.
