Iron Man opens today
Come on who's hyped for this movie.
http://www.moviesonline.ca/movie-gal...an_comicon.jpg IT'S GONNA BE GREAT!!! ok I'm not going to see it today because: a) I never see movies on opening day 2) I only see movies on Tightarse Tuesday |
Except today isn't the second
|
Yeah I know, it's the first.
That movie poster is wrong. |
Yeah, I think i may be going to the midnight opening :o
|
I'm pretty pumped, I won't lie
|
Just got back. I enjoyed it, as far as superhero movies go. It could've been a Fantastic Four, but it was more an X-Men 2. Robert Downey Jr. was surprisingly good as Tony Stark. Origin story was pulled off pretty nicely, effects were solid, and it was well if not brilliantly written.
Only major gripe (sorta spoiler): S.H.I.E.L.D but no Nick Fury. Booo urns. |
Oh shit, a thursday opening? Thought it was friday.
|
Not sure how much truth there is in it, but apparently there might be something after the end credits to stick around and see...
|
I'd rather play Grand Theft Auto 4
|
I'm interested to see how Robert Downey Jr does.

No I didn't.
|
poor Mitch :(
|
Yeah, I will see it again anyways. No big deal. Read what it was, I'm pissed I missed that. I wanted to stay till after the credits but the people I was with were impatient bastards
|
You should never go along with the crowd...make a stand next time...sitting down.

"At the end of the credits, Stark comes home and finds Nick Fury in his living room -staring towards the window. He then turns to tell Stark he's the not the only superhero in the world. Stark asks who he is, and Fury turns and says he's "Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D, and I'm here to talk to you about The Avengers Initiative".
dont read that if you dont like to be spoiled. |
Yeah, way to put the spoiler warning at the END of the post.
|
just went and saw it....
I was planning on seeing it early tomorrow morning but found out there was a showing in like 25 minutes so I drove my ass as fast as I could to the movie theater... Pretty awesome movie.....there was a part or two in there that I really didnt care for...I loved the final line in the movie...it made me laugh |
Loved it.
I think I like it even more than Batman Begins, which was my favorite comic movie til now. Bit of an Iron Man mark tho. |
Oh and during the beginning, I didn't think Jeff Bridges could pull off being the villain. I thought thats the only thing I wouldn't like about this movie. He's too warm and fuzzy. He's the dude.
He sure fooled me. |
Iron Mang
|
This is the best marvel movie ever and im completely serious about this. xmen and spiderman were good but this one takes the cake. The only reason people will disagree is because ironman isnt that big of a character and that the others were done first so they have that nastalgia, but i loved every part of this movie. also if ur a big comic book fan then i guess u should stay for the end of the credits, but theyre real fucking long so if u dont care then pass.
|
That was amazing. Last line was great.
His pick up lines were also top notch. |
also paltrow was hot.
|
Holy shit! So an Avengers movie is definitely on then?!?! :D:D:D
|
It's all but confirmed. Gonna be a while tho, as they want to make a Captain America movie and a Thor movie, THEN make the Avengers film using each film's respective lead actors.
|
Loved it. Awesome movie.
|
Saw it last night, and thought it was extremely good. I would see it again for sure.
|
I'm surprised Nunder is hyped for this. Looks like the type of movie he'd normally dismiss as "shite."
|
I want to see this bad.
|
Saw it. Honestly be the best comic movie we've had. I think I actually rate it over Batman Begins.
|
I would give Batman Begins an edge on it, but I'm in complete agreement that it was awesome.
|
Now that, I liked.
Loved the little War Machine tease as well - not to mention the fairly subtle hints towards the Mandarin. Get the feeling we might be seeing more of The Ten Rings in any sequels. |
Wow, on IMDB.com Iron Man is joint 1st highest rated Comic Book movie.
It currently has an 8.4 rating along with Sin City. Batman Begins has an 8.3. |
I read that Terrance Howard (Jim Rhode) has said there will be a sequel with War Machine. If this is true, then they could have Mandarin be the bad guy, and have him be too much for Stak to take on alone. So have Rhodes build the War Machine armour to help.
Then for an Avengers movie, they could have Iron Man, War Machine, Thor, Captain America (after they have movies made), Hulk, and possibly Wasp and Black Widow to throw some females in there. Just a thought. |
dont forget nick furry... they dont need a movie for widow and wasp tho.... they could just have unknown actors play them
|
Saw it the other night and really enjoyed it.
Robert Downey Jr was superb. Perfect fit for Tony Stark! |

When I first heard about it I rolled my eyes, but after seeing a trailer with Robert Downey Jr I changed my mind. I really don't think he's even done a bad movie (that I have seen) - the guy can act. This is also the reason Spiderman was such a load of shyte - Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunce couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag. |
LOL at rdj being an ass at the Leno interview
|
What an awesome movie.
|
yes [it was] please
|
Amazing flick
|
This was the best super hero movie I've seen. RDJ played the role perfect. Did not get bored for a second. I like the idea of a possible movie including the Avengers too.
I just realized this summer should be rolling off pretty well. Iron Man, Batman Begins, the new Indy movie, and the new Narnia movie should all deliver. Batman Begins looks awesome as hell. I always liked the Indiana Jones movies so hopefully I'll be easily entertained by the new one. Narnia was entertaining enough for what it was, hopefully the second movie will deliver. |
Definitely an awesome movie. Can't wait for the second Batman movie though even more.
|
I saw this yesterday. Pretty amazing. Only thing that bothered me was:
Spoiler in black: Jarvis. I thought Stark's computer was Homer like in the cartoon? |
God I loved that movie
I want to give Jon Favreau a hug right now |
That movie kicked ass. I wanna see it again. Right now. Someone make it happen

Robert Downey Jr was inspired casting. Can't wait til the next one and its set me up beautifully as i wait til the Dark Knight gets closer. |
I'll definitely jump on the love train. One of the best comic book movies ever. RD Jr. was teh awesome in this.
|
Just went and saw this again the other night. I had a free movie ticket from my movie card (one of those spend money earn rewards bits) and thought I could use it on Iron Man for a second go but it was 'restricted' or some nonsense so I couldn't. I was with some friends though and couldn't really not go see it at that point, so I paid to see it again. Pretty amazing for myself tbh because I normally won't even pay the $10 to go see a movie once at the theaters.
|
If Mandarin is going to be in the second one, they NEED Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa. The guy practicaly IS the mandarin.
|
It was okay.
I thought the final fight scene was a bit "Transformers." Downey was good, as was Bridges. |
Mate a couple of robots fighting can't help but be a little bit "Transformers"
Saw it last night, great fucking flick - RJD is the man. After the movie my mrs turned to me and said - that was a great movie (and she pretty much hates Superhero movies) As the credits strated rolling people we getting up and leaving and I was saying to everyone that walked past me: "dude your going to miss the end" and they all just looked at me and kept walking, all except about 4 people a row behind us. Marked out for the end bit :D |
Carry Your Wife and Throw Your Phone!
Staged at Sonkajärvi in eastern Finland since 1992, this ‘discipline’ dates back to the 19th century, if local legend is to be believed. Local villain Herkko Ronkainen used to swing his favourite local girl on his shoulders, an act that will be duplicated by couples competing in the World Championships on July 4-6, 2008.Mobile-phone throwing: In the homeland of Nokia, what could be more Finnish than this one? The next World Championships will be held on August 30, 2008 at Riihisaari in Savonlinna, eastern Finland. The organizer promises to provide “official WC mobile phones... During the throw the competitor must stay within the throwing area. The phone must land within the marked throwing sector.” Contestants may be relieved to learn that “there will be no doping tests. However the jury can rule out the contestant if his/her mental or physical preparedness is not adequate for full a performance.” 上海机票Sauna bathing contest: Some would say that sitting naked in a hot chamber is eccentric enough, but Finns have taken their national pastime a step further with an endurance test to determine the ‘World Champion’ at sauna bathing. The 10th Sauna World Championships will be held at Heinola on August 8-9, 2008. As many as 80 participants from 16 countries as varied as Kazakhstan and South Korea attended this increasingly popular competition in 2007. “Competitors have to sit in the sauna with buttocks and thighs on the seat,” say the rules. “Posture must be erect; elbows must stay on the knees and arms have to be in an upright position. The competitor will have to leave the sauna without outside help, otherwise the he/she will be disqualified.” Call the Heinola tourist office for more information on +358 0(3) 849 3615. 上海特价机票Twangy Guitar Festival: The Taarasti art centre in Nastola near Lahti was the venue on June 28, 2008, for the annual celebration of that peculiarly Finnish style of guitar playing, a kind of melancholy country sound often preferred at lakeside summer dances.Air guitar playing: What is it about Finns and guitars? Or in this case, Finns who wish they had guitars? Masters of the phantom instrument gather each year at the Club Teatria in Oulu in northern Finland. Would-be Jimi Hendrixes and aspiring Brian Mays congregate to trade licks and strut their stuff, with ‘training camps’, lectures and demonstrations of the ‘sport’, as well as the competition itself. Traditional Finnish dominance has been challenged recently: the 2006 winner hailed from Japan, with runners-up from Australia and Germany. The venue will be held August 20-22, 2008. 上海飞机票Winter swimming: Ellivuori in Vammala, southern Finland, was the venue in February 2007 for the annual Winter Swimming Finnish Championships.
