John Morrison > AJ Styles
Before everyone gets on my case for hating AJ Syles, this is coming from a non-hate perspecitve.
I am just saying right now, as of this second with current abs. It seems much more likely that John Morrison could get a world title shot (ECW), if not win it before AJ Styles could get a TNA title shot. Discuss. |
John Morrison is fucking amazing. AJ Styles is on TNA.
|
John Morrison still a little to green to better then AJ.
|
I didn't like AJ at first but then I was watching him when some of the TNA wrestlers were in Japan and I started liking him.
|
The man did a moonsault while holding a ladder. The only thing that can top that is if he had a gun that shot lightning.
|
From a poll about two wrestlers who I like and think are talented, to a poll about two guys I couldn't give a shit about if you paid me...
I voted equal, because shit is shit. Ironically, I'll probably get less criticism for calling both these guys ass than for saying I like Jericho, but think his recent work has been sloppy and sub-par. |
I think given their current situations, AJ Styles could get a title shot sooner. Simply because he is in TNA and Vince "Bat Swingin' Fool" Russo is at the helm. TNA is sometimes unpredictable, but not in a way thats like "Wow this is exciting!", more of a "What the fuck is going on?"
|
Both are pretty cool imo. Just wrong time for them, wrong writers for them.
|
I don't dislike AJ Styles, but I am a huge Morrison mark. I remember liking him all the way back when Tough Enough was on MTV, and he's come such a long way. He's only going to keep getting better, and I am excited at the prospect.
|
Both do crazy moves. Both have a look about them. Morrison can't get over, and can't cut a promo. Styles is a goof who also can't cut a serious promo. They're both pretty much equal.
I wonder how they're trying to book Morrison right now? He's a heel, but he's obviously not doing anything heelish next to beating faces and hanging out with The Miz. I guess that's enough these days? At least Styles has direction, even if it's TNA direction. |

Morrison shouldnt have been pushed single so quick. He went from being a guy with abs on a team to a single guy with abs. He never really got to Grow into a character. He has gotten much better, but still needs time. I think he can be a main eventer though, and within 2 years.
Styles will never be better than he is now, so I went Morrison. |

When he was he pushed as a single? ECW counts?
|
He was an Intercontinental champion (while on Raw) and ECW Champion for a pretty decent amount of time. He went over CM Punk numerous times....are you really going to discredit all of that?
|
I looked at "pushed as a single" with more of a main event in mine. Even then, if you want to talk about being in character, he had to change personas by the time he got to ECW.
Either way. I see where your coming from now, but I don't think that's his only problem. He's yet to come up with a good promo or get over from his looks alone like Jeff Hardy has. Again, he's absolutely nuts awesome in the ring. |
He's got some great charisma. He's hilarious on The Dirt Sheet, but it's hard to cut promos for a character that isn't 'you' (i.e. movie star, rock legend) which is what he has portrayed thus far. At least now they seem to be letting him use some of his own characteristics in his on-screen character. Even Steve Austin was a shity Ringmaster.
Just listen to him and Miz on commentary. Hilarious, both of them. |
I remember him doing a split legged moonsault (like RVD used to do) but added a corkscrew twist to it that looked pretty fucking amazing.

So, both?

AJ does AMAZING spots. They're done without build up or warrent, but physically he impresses me with what he can do. John Morrison once did a promo that I didn't totally hate. I'm going with AJ, though neither is worth my nickel.

Morrison is not only more talented in the ring than AJ, he's also better on the stick.

Nah, I asked both the Bashams and Val if they would let me tattoo the memo on their stomach, but they said no. So I ran out of ideas of how to get it in front of Noid's eyes.

well for Val it would be the stomach, but for Doug you should try a Tramp Stamp.

All I know is if there were a thread comparing two wrestlers I didn't like or care about, I probably wouldn't post in it.
|
If I didn't post in a thread with wrestlers that I didn't care about I would have like 3 posts by this point. :p
|
Three very excellent posts they'd be, I'm sure.

LoL! I just watched that episode the other day over at a friends house.
(P.S. need to spread some rep around, but I'll hit ya for it) |
Morrison's improving his character through The Dirt Sheet and AJ I just found to be totally overrated.
|
John Morrison's abs >>>> Joey Styles entire career.
|
John Morriosn doesn't allow comparisons to AJ Styles in the Palace of Wisdom.
|
Why are so many people gay for Morrison's abs?
|
Because they are gaytastic.
|
I love Morrison to death (i think his ring ability is very underrated) but he
needs more edge to his character. Rockstars feel like they can do what they want and thats what he needs to do. If they want to make him look credible, have him almost upset HHH for the title on RAW. I'm talking **** type of match with HHH barely escaping. |
I really like both of them.
But I went with AJ, don't get me wrong; Morrison's ring work is awesome, but AJ's is marginally better IMO. Some of the spots he pulls of are incredible, he rarely botches, and sells moves brilliantly. What is it people (TPWW) don't like about AJ? I mean usually I can at least understand the reasons for disliking a wrestler if not agreeing with them, but when I watch an AJ match there's usually very little wrong with it and it'll be fast-paced and exciting. Only bad things about AJ are that his promo abilities aren't great, and for some reason he's in midcard hell at the moment with a weak version of his 2004 gimmick. Dunno. |

Ya homo. :shifty:

I like both. I think Morrison might have a more promising future though, because he's in the WWE and they seem to be high on him. Not to mention AJ Styles seems to have been around and utilized in a high place on the card for a while now and I doubt he's going to click anymore than he already has.
He's a great wrestler, but his character is like Brian Christopher. He'll prob be the next guy outside of the already established guys in TNA to get a world title push, but it will be too late. If he were to come to WWE, he'd prob get over as hell for a while, but never go far. |

Mind, I don't really hate either of them. I just can't be arsed to care about either. I'd give a nod to Styles over Morrison because TNA's shitty following was largely built up in no small part to AJ. However, Styles is kind of average, and Morrison is kind of average. |
I personally would have to go with AJ Styles simply because he seems to be more fluent in the ring.
This is something to keep in mind though. AJ Styles has been toned down by TNA, and Morrison has been toned down even more by the WWE. Ever since AJ has been a heel he hasn't been half as amazing as he used to me in the ring (probably to avoid pops) and Morrison works for the WWE, so he's only allowed to be amazing once a year at Wrestlemania. |
