Dawn of the Dead remake.
Looks good to me. Except, you know, it's another ****ing remake.
Anyone planning on seeing it? |
Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing it. I know a few people that got tickets to see the early preview showing or whatever tonight. So I will see what they thought tomorrow.
|
Probably won't see it.
Looks pretty shitty. |
Horror movies...who needs 'em?
|
horror movie remake = even worse
i'm sure it will have plenty of surprise moments but anyone can do that. i'm sick of horror movies. the only horror movie i actually enjoy was The Ring. (not a remake as far as i know) |
The Ring was a remake of some Japanese horror movie if I remember right. But it was still original to us.
|
Ringu, Hero.
But it looks interesting to me. If I hit big on my birthday, I'll definitely check it out. |
I would see it if the movies were closer to my school or if I was home. I enjoyed the original.
|
A horror movie this time of year? Nah :o

I'm gonna see that Saturday. Probably will suck, but it's cool.
|
Im a sucker for zombie movies so Im gonna check it out.
|
I can't wait to see it, the original is a classic so hopefully this will live up to it.
Everyone leave horror movis alone, lol. There's three ring films in Japan Ring 1 Ring 2 Ring 0 - prequel Ringu is the Korean rip off. |
Meep meep walla walla walla meep
I am not the Mackem today I'm Pingu Meep meep |

Maybe if anybody asks me to go, to see the movie.
|
It has nothing to offer. It made it's mark before as orginal and as shocking. It can't claim any of that this time around.
I hate remakes. |

With that said, it's in katakana, meaning it's a non-Japanese word in Japanese writing. Since their language has all sounds followed by a vowel, it would be impossible for a word to end with G. Therefore, Ringu is the japanese pronounciation of Ring. |

I'm not familiar with the Korean ripoff, sorry.
I study Japanese for school. Currently in my 4th semester/ second year. Language wise, at my college I'm in the highest language class. I might go on to an independent study, or possibly a class that teaches the radicals involved with Kanji. Surprisingly, Japanese isn't a very difficult language. Once you get the structure and style down, it's pretty easy to understand. |
The posters for it are pretty scary.
They got some zombie-fied kid with evil eyes on it. I'm not really into zombie movies, but I'm tempted to check it out. |

I dunno, the origional is so good, I don't think this could ever be on par. Looking at the trailer it looks REALLY different from the origional. Plus I think they said that in this movie the zombies can run?? wtf is up with that?
|
There's three stages of the zombie disease. So if there in the first stage then it's just started to affect them and so they can run.
|
When was the original made?
|
1998

I thought it was made in the 70's or something :wtf: |

Have you seen them? Both a lot more better than the re-make. Oh and check The Eye out too if you like these kind of films. |

Sorry I got mixed up with The Ring for some reason.
Yeah it was 1979, sorry Smitty. |
It was originally made in 1978. It was a sequel to 1968's Night of the Living Dead, and a sequel (Day of the Dead) was made in 1985.

Anyone seen the crappy remake of Night Of The Living Dead. That sucked.

It just wasn't as eery because of the colour, plus I can't remeber exactly but I think they changed the ending. That's the most shocking thing about the original, that he survives the zombies and then he gets killed by the rednecks the day after. Lol. |
I'm still a bit iffy on the quality of this remake. If the zombies ran in the original, then I can overlook the zombies running in the remake, but as memory seves me right, they didn't run in the original movie. My brother is a big fan of the original and really wants to see the movie, so i'll probably end up tagging aloong.
On another note, I think i'm like the only one who loved the Night of the Living Dead remake. :( |
I loved the original Dawn of the Dead and wasnt really a fan on how they just walked. I was watching some clips yesterday from the Remake of it and when I saw the Zombies run I thought it was great. Zombies running is great and gives you a bigger thrill of that one of the good guys might die. I cant wait to go see this movie.

Just saw it.... The best scenes involve Andy :)
|
HAHAHAHAHA
Andy is the fu</>cking man... |

Nope, I dislike blood and guts horror films.
|
I saw it earlier. I thought it was good, I've never even seen the original though so I'm not sure how similar it was. There was quite a lot of funny parts too, like when Andy was shooting Jay Leno, and Burt Reynolds.

If it was a carbon copy of the original would anybody really care? I mean it's been quite awhile since the original was made and I believe times have changed and movies have to change accordingly. They have to think of the new audience they want to attract, the ones that haven't seen any of the older movies because those that have will more often then not go just because they loved the original (even if it is just to criticize it and point out 256 ways the first was better). Yes we all know 75% of remakes suck but don't disregard all remakes just because of that. I saw Dawn of the Dead today, first showing, it's twice as good as anything in the past... several years. Unlike the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, this was a good change.
|
Haha the movie ruled. It had funny scenes, and some trippy scary ones. The funniest involves a fat lady zombie sprinting towards her prey, only to catch something in her eye.

I hate movies that when they remake them, they go away from what originally happened. I have yet to see this film and hopefully when I do it will be great.
