Samoa Joe shouldn't TALK.

He should use sign language.

SPOILER: show |
i meant it'd be amazing if joe used sign language BTW
Heatorz for Joe
Joe's got the heat.
I think this is my first Booker T match since joining TNA. It's nice to see him able to work freely again.
Haha there's gonna be a riot if Joe wins.
And Soma joe is wearing the crimson mask ladies and gentlemen, he is busted all the way open, and bah gawd what a match.
Joe isn't being very nice.
Okay, so Joe is brutalizing Booker T, hitting him with the face wash against the guard rail right in front of his wife, and he's beating up TNA referees and officials.
STING!
It's Meng!
I mean Sting!
Okay, not a bad ending to the night. Samoa Joe as a heel is the fucking goods with me.
New champ. Cool cool.
Or is he? Sharmell made the count and awarded him the belt. I didn't hear the bell ring. That title win will be "void" by Thursday night.
He will be my champ.
This match reminded me a little of WM 13...it was a double turn I guess. Joe came off looking like a mega heel though. The booking for TNA for once came full circle...Booker for so long was an over-confident cocky heel thinking he was going to win because he was a seasoned veteran..and everyone kept ragging on Joe the whole time. Well Booker fell flat on his ass at the end, and Joe was going insane to prove a point.
Though it ended in a no-contest, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't entertained. This was a pretty good ppv by TNA...I'll give them that. Knowing TNA though they'll screw everything up. |
Just got back from the show....
The show was alright. The section I was in wasnt really that into it except for the people in front of me and the people I was with. Ultimate X was a blast and the place erupted when Kaz leaped from the top. Basically the crowd was obviously pro Booker T. A bunch of students from his school were at the event also and were some of the people that got in the little fight with Joe. Basically the endig was crappy because the whole place was confused about what was going on. |
It sounded confusing and a bit of a letdown.
Can somebody explain to me regarding the World X Cup what purpose did the points prior to the Ultimate X match serve? |
Just build for the blow off match at the PPV. Following the points as if it were a sport would've been a huge waste of time.
So it was pointless?
What a waste of time. |
Yeah typical TNA fashion, the World X Cup Tournament isn't without its blunders. They've gone on and on for weeks about the point system. But they've been rather vague on everything the whole time. This is probably because TNA wasn't sure what they were going to do themselves.
Ultimately though, none of that matters. For over a month, TNA has offered one solid match after another, all of them deigned to elevate new talent, and every single one ending cleanly- not a run-in or a Dusty finish to be seen. Because of this, the X-Division once again feels like a prestigious class of wrestlers. It may not last, but up until this point, the hardest working wrestlers on national television are actually getting their due. Selling a pay-per-view based on having good competitive matches instead of goofy storylines- who'd have thunk it? Because that's whats been so fantastic about this, this score system, as bogus as everyone could see, made the angle about wrestling. It made getting victories really matter. It was great piece of booking that but over wrestling. And like past years could really elevate these Mexican performers if the choose to continue to use them and if they don't it will only strengthen their relationship with CMLL. which is great either way. Pointless? I dunno. I got new talent over, and that's never pointless. |
Not the tournament but the scoring system, the only way I can see them salvaging this would be some kind of Team TNA dispute of the result as they had more points.
Maybe it comes across differently on the PPV, the results I was reading was keeping a tab on the scoring system and when Team Mexico won Ultimate X and the tournament I was thinking...um what? I was thinking of a better way of incorporating the scoring system in the final match. The thing I came up with was some sort of time limit match where each pinfall counts as a point. It would still be possible for a team behind the leaders to win but doesn't shit on points already accumulated. The problem with that is, obviously, it doesn't incorporate the Ulitmate X match. And good job on gettting the talent over Destor :shifty: |
lol
*it Anyway, I think in wrestling simple is the key, and making an audience count past 3 is a bad idea, especially a wrestling audience. |
Ending to the main event sucked, and really it wasn't necessary to cut to Sharmell every 4 seconds
It was good for the most part. The Kim/Love match sucked, but maybe I just feel that way because I hate them both. Ending to the main event was bad, but the bell never rang so technically it never ended. The match could go on for days.
I think the double turn was nice.

The double turn was nice, but it could be good or bad depending on how they handle it. I'd love to see Joe go back to not talking and just kicking ass (and maybe dropping some weight). I also want to see Sting stop talking so much and go back to coming down from the rafters. He doesn't necessarily have to be a heel, but he should go back to being a badass.
