"The Nature Boy" ______ ______

If you had to give the "Nature Boy" moniker to anyone currently wrestling today, who would it be?

...in the unlikely event that nickname were to be given...I would have Kenny Dykstra just go by Ken Doane and call him "The Nature Boy" Ken Doane. And I would actually give him a solid mid-level role on the card.

It was kinda hard to spell flare like that on tpww.net. I'm sure we're all used to Flair instead of flare.

I actually spelled it "flair" at first but then paused and looked at it for like 30 seconds thinking "something's not right..."

I am sorry guys but it is in my opinion that NO ONE should be given the name Nature Boy.

That is part of Ric Flair's legacy and I don't think it would be right for the WWE to give some guy Flair's name. It would be wrong.

I think there is only one nature boy and thats the man, Ric Flair.

The ONLY way I think this would be okay is if it was either Flair's relative or someone Flair himself decided to pass the nickname on to!

Xero 07-24-2008 04:33 PM

So basically you're saying Triple H should get it.

thedamndest 07-24-2008 04:37 PM

In all seriousness "Nature Boy" is way too old school of a name for the modern audience. It wouldn't stick on anyone, even Flair's son.

I mean, she isn't TERRIBLE looking (in fact, she is pretty good) but if you compare her to other women in/who have been in the company she's about three rungs above Chyna. (Out of, say, eight rungs.)

It's probably more to do with the fact that she reminds me of someone I know IRL and SHE is pretty hot. Don't get me wrong I reckon most of the WWE Divas are pretty hot, I just would rate Beth towards the bottom.

I get that people have different tastes and all, and that you're not saying she's ugly or anything, but I personally think Katie Lea is fucking hot. She's probably not the hottest the WWE has ever had, but I don't feel like ranking anyone above her. She's just got this charm about her.

She certainly does it for me, as Know You Role also presented.

Mr. Nerfect 07-27-2008 04:53 AM

See, I think Katie Lea is hotter than Maryse. That is a great picture of Maryse, by the way, though. :y:

Maryse also did it for me this week on SmackDown!. But sometimes I feel she is way too...I dunno. Processed? She's growing on me rapidly, though.

I also love how a topic based on the legacy of the greatest professional wrestler ever leaked its way into talk about the Divas. Maybe Vince isn't as crazy as we think? OK, he is.

"Nature Boy" Christian Bale.

Reid Flair coming up with the gimmick would be fantastic, but if I had to choose someone on the active WWE roster, I'd have to go with:

Charlie Haas: The man is a great wrestler, with the potential to develop a fantastic personality. He's got charisma, despite what people say. If Ric Flair became a manager for the guy, I would anticipate great things.

Ken Doane: Someone suggested this. Doane is young, full of talent, is one of the youngest men to win a championship in WWE history, and used to bang Mickie James. All of these things seem to fit a "Nature Boy" persona. He was also trained by Killer Kowalski, who also trained Triple H, who is one of Ric Flair's boys. I could see this working out really well.

John Morrison: Others have suggested this, and at first I didn't really agree, but the more I think about it, the more at peace I'd be with it. To some, he is already considered a World Champion, and the "Nature Boy" moniker could help solidify his status there.

Paul London: Yeah, I'm a mark for the guy. I wouldn't have Ric Flair pass the moniker onto him, but rather have him steal it as a joke, and then actually start wrestling matches/being used to the limit of his potential. OK, that's a ridiculous idea.

People also said Benoit had no Charisma. And Lesnar.

NeanderCarl 07-27-2008 09:31 AM

Benoit didn't. Lesnar wasn't oozing it, but he had more than Benoit or Haas.

Kane Knight 07-27-2008 09:41 AM

Are you high? Benoit was laden with Charisma.

NeanderCarl 07-27-2008 09:43 AM

Are you??? I must have blinked and missed that brief moment when Benoit displayed any charisma.

NeanderCarl 07-27-2008 09:49 AM

Chris Benoit... monosyllabic, monotone interviews... lame catchphrases that never caught on... about two different facial expressions, ever... it was always forgiven because he was such an internet darling and admittedly great wrestler, but a lot of the time, the crowd were just sat on their hands during his matches because they couldn't give a shit. Yeah, he had his moments of popularity, but he was so inconsistant in being able to connect with the audience... he always seemed so awkward and uncomfortable in front of a crowd, stoic but not in a quietly charismatic way like Dean Malenko, but rather in a 'he's just there' kinda fashion... nah, Benoit had the charisma of a mannequin.

Mr. Nerfect 07-27-2008 12:50 PM

Benoit had an "I'm going to kill everyone" charisma. I apologise for the ironic meaning that takes on now. But to say the man was not charismatic is retarded. People don't understand what charisma is. It's not about being the loudest or the most colourful. Sometimes it is about being quiet, and sometimes it is about not showing off.

Charlie Haas has gotten people into him. The WWE always pulls the plug. When he was with Rico and Jackie Gayda, he had a fantastic straight-man charisma. He was the star player on the football team that everyone at high school loved and wanted to be/be with. People say that Haas has no charisma because he is a guy focused on wrestling that rarely gets to cut promos.

People confuse a loud personality or the ability to talk with charisma. They are not the same thing.

NeanderCarl 07-27-2008 04:42 PM

No I didn't confuse the meaning of charisma, and no I am not retarded.

DarKCentaur 07-28-2008 07:02 PM
