Kid rock deserves the death penalty

Sheryl crow has lost the title of artist with the worst cover

Awful awful shit

Shoot the bitch!

thedamndest 08-12-2008 02:36 PM

What is the cover in question?

BigDaddyCool 08-12-2008 02:37 PM

I wasn't aware Kid Rock did covers. I know he samples heavily from other songs, but he tends to make up his own lyrics.

Renaissance man 08-12-2008 02:38 PM

He ass raped "Sweet home Alabama"

BigDaddyCool 08-12-2008 02:41 PM

Oh, techincally that isn't a cover, that is him sampling Sweet Home Alabama and making up his own lyrics. But I agree, he does suck.

thedamndest 08-12-2008 02:41 PM

The only one I can think of is "Feel Like Makin' Love." I wouldn't say it warrants the death penalty though, maybe some community service just to set an example for any other would-be Bad Company coverers.

No he didn't, he brought it up to 2000. Don't be so jealous over his success.

Renaissance man 08-12-2008 02:43 PM

It was a great song before that hack came along

Kris P Lettus 08-12-2008 02:44 PM

Always liked Kid Rock..

:dunno:

thedamndest 08-12-2008 02:47 PM

Is it this "All Summer Long"?

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uUaP7LoppGw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uUaP7LoppGw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

OverTaker 08-12-2008 02:47 PM

I bet you also say, he ASS RAPED "Werewolves of London" when obviously just the chords but not the vocals.

Renaissance man 08-12-2008 02:49 PM

[QUOTE=thedamndest;2249510]Is it this "All Summer Long"?

Thats the shit

thedamndest 08-12-2008 02:55 PM

I would say the worst cover is the one that is currently running on JC Penny's commercials of Don't You Forget about Me by Simple Minds. That's one that is ridiculous to cover since Breakfast Club is so ubiquitous.

Renaissance man 08-12-2008 02:58 PM

Celine Dion singing AC/DC. Oh the horror

Kris P Lettus 08-12-2008 04:03 PM

If every band that made bad music got killed what would MTV play??

Wait a minute.. I forgot MTV doesn't play music..

Renaissance man 08-12-2008 04:20 PM

Vh1 is so much better.

RP 08-12-2008 05:24 PM

I actually like the song. I dont take music all fucking serious like you guys. Its a good toon to listen to while driving. So pull the stick out of your ass and get over it.

Would be great if this happened. But it won't.

Blitz 08-12-2008 06:10 PM

If we're killing people for being terrible, Renaissance Man needs to run far, far away.

New Found Glory would be the culprit :$

Skippord 08-12-2008 11:22 PM

I'd disagree with this but after hearing that "All Summer Long" song I hate Kid Rock

lol yeah

Inadequacy 08-13-2008 12:42 AM

I hear this song on the radio roughly two or three times every time I go to work and yes; he deserves the death penalty.

Juan 08-13-2008 03:13 AM

Kid Rock's only had one good album.

2000 was still 8 years ago.

But you can't possibly have posted that with a straight face.

Hanso Amore 08-13-2008 02:55 PM

I dont love it at all.

But it is still way better than most of the shite on the radio.

I would rather see Lil Wayne take a bullet. And whoever the fuck Akon is, kill him too.

Word. RP gets shit.

DaveWadding 08-13-2008 05:20 PM

For as much of the fucking song he aped, you may as well just cut the shit and listen to Sweet Home Alabama in the 1st place.

Rob 08-13-2008 05:40 PM

Who fucking cares? Seriously? It's not like it was a 100% and tore the original to shit.

PapaGeorgio 08-13-2008 07:36 PM

Everytime the song comes on I get really excited for some Werewolves in Londer, but no luck.

Well I meant that he brought it up to the next generation.

yes, I actually did type that without a laugh or smirk. I like the song.

Too bad Sweet Home Alabama is a TIMELESS CLASSIC that doesnt need to be updated for the retarded teenagers today.

OverTaker 08-13-2008 11:39 PM

True, but still good song.

DaveWadding 08-13-2008 11:39 PM

"Huh huh, what's a Watergate? derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

DaveWadding 08-13-2008 11:39 PM

PS: this song fucking sucks

OverTaker 08-13-2008 11:40 PM

:nono:

Kane Knight 08-13-2008 11:48 PM

LOL at the people trying to defend it.

Bad Company 08-14-2008 02:41 AM

Yeah, cant believe he butchered werewolves of london as well :(

What Would Kevin Do? 08-14-2008 03:10 AM

Both songs suck. Although I think I can actually tolerate Kidrock's song more than I can Sweet Home Alabama... God I hate that fucking song.

PapaGeorgio 08-14-2008 11:18 PM

Ya'll aren't focusing on the true song that is getting fucked with. WEREWOLVES IN LONDON!

RP 08-14-2008 11:22 PM

Heres the thing. I dont get the feeling Kid Rock is trying to make money off Sweet Home Alabama. Aka riding the songs coat tails. I truely believe Kid Rock just loves the song and wanted to attach lyrics of his own teenage life to it. And it reflects in the song. I dont listen to this song and think " OMG ripping Skynard off " . I honestly listen to it and think its a great summer toon. Nothing more, nothing less. I appreciate Kid Rock quite a bit. He doesnt come off as some poppy rap rock douche. He knows his music, respects those who came before and i think he's just giving a shout out with this song. Its a good song. Stop trying to be all elite and shit. Its a good song.

RP 08-14-2008 11:25 PM

I was gunna make a thread last week about how i thought Kid Rock was more the just a fad. I like the guy as a musician. I think he's talented. His music isnt grammy worthy, but i respect him enough and the music enough to enjoy it and not come off as some dipshit with a giant stick up my ass preaching Skinnard, Zepplin and Hendrix like i actually was around to feel those guys at the time they were big.

OverTaker 08-14-2008 11:33 PM

^ I couldn't say it any better. :foc: Kane Knight & DaveWadding.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-15-2008 12:41 AM

Obviously the guys in Lynyrd Skynyrd don't think Kid Rock ripped them off since they're currently on tour with him.

He always plays covers he likes at his shows and Sweet Home Alabama is always one of them.

What Would Kevin Do? 08-15-2008 11:42 AM

It's great live when he breaks into Freebird during "Motherfucker like me."

But does Warren Zevon fucking approve? That is the true question, and the true song being fucked with. Listening to it right now. The first line of this song is better than Kid Rocks or Lynyrd Skynyrds stupid song.

I SAW A WEREWOLF WITH A CHINESE MENU IN HIS HAND.

Why, that would be completely unprecedented if they did!

Damn right. It's still one of my top 6, next to a tyraid of Zeppelin.

I did try to give Kid Rock the benefit of the doubt, even bought into the whole 'Hey, it's a good song to hear on the road to work'....However, I've always felt that 'Werewolves of London' was a good enough song to hear in the car and prefer Warren Zevon's lyrics to Kid Rocks butchering. I know it's not a cover, but for fuck's sake...He could have made something DECENT with the borrowed instrumentals.
