Disaster Movie

Why?!???

Shaggy 08-24-2008 01:30 AM

I will admit that I really enjoyed the last spoof Superhero movie.....

But I refuse to go see this pile of shit....

Triple A 08-24-2008 04:21 AM

Seems like it's now down to every 6 months one of these comes out.

Because people pay money to watch them apparently because people find them hilarious.

Bad Company 08-24-2008 04:31 AM

Shit like this makes me wonder why I am not filthy rich right now. It takes no talent or effort to put one of these together, but they make millions doing it somehow.

U-Warrior 08-24-2008 05:22 AM

Just look to the movie's title for the review.

Triple A 08-24-2008 05:30 AM

+ $10-$20 mil DVD sales for each

Triple A 08-24-2008 05:32 AM

Budgets:

Epic Movie: $20 mil
Date Movie: $20 mil
Superhero Movie: $35 mil
Meet the Spartans: $30 mil

Bad Company 08-24-2008 05:44 AM

Way too many Americans are seeing those movies.

Also, Triple A, I read a post about movies you like and decided to watch Lilja 4-Ever, it was excellent. Cheers :)

Boondock Saint 08-24-2008 06:37 AM

Hate this shit.

But just FYI, Superhero Movie is not made by the same douches of Date, Epic, Disaster and Meet The Spartans.

Xerzes 08-24-2008 06:40 AM

Die, shit, die.

Champion of Europa 08-24-2008 01:53 PM

I thought Superhero Movie was funny, but its from the Scary Movie crew, not the Epic Movie crew.

The Genius 08-24-2008 02:34 PM

i watched epic movie for free on cinemax and couldnt even tolerate 5 minutes of it.

Crimson 08-24-2008 02:38 PM

You know damn well it will be number 1 next week. Fucking teenagers

Rammsteinmad 08-24-2008 02:42 PM

They're all shit. The first Scary Movie was funny. After that I thought they were trying too hard. :nono:

El Fangel 08-24-2008 04:42 PM

Seeing that profit margin for the movies angers me verily.

Really looking forward to this:y:

Kane Knight 08-24-2008 05:09 PM

Well, at least the title "Disaster Movie" is honest.

Seeing the previews for this makes me want to throw up.

And that would be about 50 times more entertaining than watching this movie.

This steaming pile of crap is slightly warmer than this other steaming pile of crap.

#1-norm-fan 08-24-2008 08:24 PM

I actually enjoy watching bad comedies with people just to laugh at how bad they are and I couldn't even do it with Meet the Spartans. It was painful. They fucking parodied American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, America's Next Top Model, and I think one other "do something and then be judged" show. And every time it was the same exact fucking joke.

And I'm just scratching the surface with the horrid-ness of these movies. The most retarded man on the world could not set out to make a good movie and come up with shit this bad. You have to TRY to take the biggest dump on a roll of film humanly possible to produce this stuff. These movies are the worst thing to ever happen to pop culture. I can not overstate this.

... and people pay money to watch it.

Xero 08-24-2008 10:42 PM

Shit like American Pie and Will Ferrell paved the way for this. You have yourselves to blame.

El Fangel 08-24-2008 11:16 PM

Honestly I think that the few movies these are parodying are to blame.

By making movies that are actually funny?

I don't follow.

The Mask 08-25-2008 12:15 AM

they're car crash movies. i know they're going to suck, i know i'm going to hate every minute, but i still go. i have to see how far they can plunge. meet the spartans, seriously.

Xerzes 08-25-2008 05:40 AM

I watched the first fifteen minutes or so of Epic Movie on Cinemax once, since a friend of mine bitches about me hating these movies without having seen them. My friend can fuck himself. That fifteen minutes was sheer torture. It finally beat me when Willy Wonka was beginning to breakdance to a Fergie song. no, no, and no. Fuck you. These people need to be stopped.

Right. By making popular movies, other movies try to use a similar style of, in this case comedy, and it usually comes out terrible despite the huge numbers they may get.

The current generation only knows this style of comedy since it's the most used style, and it's those that I mentioned and others which paved the way to this rut of terrible movies in the genre.

If you didn't enjoy the mindless shit of those movies, you wouldn't be getting the next level of stupidity from these.

I watched some of it on HBO one night. I agree.

BigDaddyCool 08-25-2008 01:39 PM

sugar butt wants to see it, kinda, but not until it comes out on dvd. We saw Meet the Spartans, and that sucked, but again we only rented it. Sometimes it is fun to watch something you know is going to be a piece of crap.

Kane Knight 08-25-2008 03:06 PM

Sugar Butt had better be a demon in the sack.

#1-norm-fan 08-25-2008 03:43 PM

I guess American Pie and Will Ferrell movies may have paved the way for this...

Some 8 year old got his hands on Anchorman, his big brother thought it was funny and he decided he wanted to write a funny movie after naptime to make all the grown-ups laugh. 2 hours later, ta-da!

Triple A 08-25-2008 03:56 PM

Saying American Pie and Ferrell movies paved the way for this is retarded. It is like saying The Godfather paved the way for Corky Romano because people ate up a movie about the mafia.

It is a completely different type of humor.

This is such a ridiculous statement I can't even argue against it properly because I have no idea wtf you are even thinking or where your logic is coming from.

#1-norm-fan 08-25-2008 04:05 PM

My post was sarcasm.... it is a retarded argument. Even though the more I think about these movies, the more my scenario of how they came about seems not-so-far fetched.

Triple A 08-25-2008 04:07 PM

I know, I was not talking to you asshole!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeritron 08-25-2008 04:14 PM

Will Ferrell and American Pie? Makes no sense at all. In all honesty, movies like Naked Gun, Loaded Weapon and Scary Movie paved the way for this shit.

However, they're not to blame. Just because they paved the way doesn't mean they're responsible. They're good. Naked Gun is fucking great.

That's like saying Psycho paved the way for Jeepers Creepers 2 or some shit. Technically, it did. It was a thriller/suspense that paved the way for slasher focused films like Halloween, and then all the garbage.
You can't place the blame on good or moderate films for trash imitations or deviations. Nobody is to blame other than the people who go to see them. Even the writers/producers can't be blamed because they're just supplying the demand.

So we should never enjoy any movies ever? Cause this arguement could be applied to every genre.

So you don't think there should be any movies, ever? Because if the ones they parody didn't exist, they would just pick others to parody.........................

It's one of the most assinine comments ever made on TPWW

Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, and Woody Allen are all rolling in their graves right now.

Woody Allen is just testing his out with a cousin or something though.

Champion of Europa 08-31-2008 10:58 PM

This movie bombed.

I'm pleased.
