Is anyone else chuckling a little at this?

For those who don't know, Carlito returned (skinnier than ever) to team up with his newly-hired brother, Primo Colon (pronounced ko-LOAN, supposed to be spelled with an accent over the 2nd "O"). Though not announced as such, the big bottom screen said "THE COLONS" in huge lettering.

It's just the WWE. Don't be so anal.

Who is the asshole who came up with this name?

I don't get it, what else are the WWE meant to call them? The San Juan Southpaws?

Not a complaint, as I like the tag team and it's the right move...I just find it funny that they couldn't decide to team him up with Carlito BEFORE bothering to have him appear on Raw.</font>

Carlito and Primo will be WWE Tag Team Champions soon, methinks. It's a good thing. I could actually get into them as a team. Part Hardy Boyz, part Los Guerreros.

Yeah I don't really see that either. They're too new (as a team) to really engender any opinion as of yet.

I am not racist, Republican. I drew an analogy to The Hardys because they are high-flying brothers who are considered a success with the ladies without really being particularly good looking (if you believe reports about Carlito). I drew similarities to the Los Guerreros because one is a more established singles wrestler than the other, who now team up, using a luchadore style with sneaky heelish personality attached to face characters.

He was wearing baggy pants, keep in mind. Also, his hair is pretty much the same, BDC. He wore the dreads at a house show to groom the fro, I believe. If Carlito went between dreads and afros on a weekly basis, I would pretty much mark-out.

Also, I suspect Carlito's wrestling style will change. As a face, he is allowed to fly more, something he never did too much of as a heel. He's capable of really going when allowed. The WWE also seems to be lightening up on their cruiserweight stylings, as evidenced by Evan Bourne. Primo, in particular, seems to have the shackles off him a little bit, and Carlito will probably be allowed to keep up. This is also the first cruiserweight tag team Carlito has been a part of since joining the WWE, so his tag team stuff will probably be more flowing and punctual. It's also the first face team he has been a part of.

Man... one could easily think this was a Sid thread if one didn't read the thread title. :p

They should bring back The Dicks and have them fued with The Colons.

Haven't seen the segment yet, but I assume that saying The Colons were trying to be like Eddie & Chavo is racist.

I want to see Primo Colon missile dropkick opponents into the Backcracker. Maybe a flipping front missile dropkick so that when he does that move in singles matches, it'd be a convincing finisher itself, and not just be a regular high-flying move made finisher.

The Tolands were treated like shit in the WWE, which is sad, because they were a talented tag team. Now the "cousins" apparently don't get along. If the WWE brought them back with that gimmick, however, I would mark out. I was also thinking the other day just how much I miss The Heartbreakers ("Why do we take their last names?" "Because we don't have last names silly").

God, even "Primo Colon" sounds like a laxative brand name.

I'm surprising the team is meeting this much hostility. It's a great way to humble Carlito and start using him again. It's a great way to introduce fans to his younger brother. It also provides SmackDown! with a charismatic and solid tag team. Wait until they get to work a few more matches together. People will be in love with them.

Not sure about Primo, but I don't mind Carlito on the mic. I didn't mind their introduction video during their first match together. It's probably more the writers than them.

Yeah, I used their OVW name, just because it sounds better and it didn't hide the obvious homosexuality of the characters. They were incredibly entertaining in whatever they did, and not a bad team in the ring.

Carlito has lost a lot of weight. Has he pretty much stopped working out? He's smaller and less toned than he was a couple of years ago. I'm wondering if his new baggy pants are worn because his legs got really skinny or if he just wanted a new look.

Well, slimming down for Carlito in this new team is probably a good thing. It'd allow him to keep up with Primo a lot easier, and let them mesh a lot more fluidly as a tag team.

I personally haven't noticed much change his physique. But I never really "checked out" Carlito, anyway. I was too distracted with Brian Kendrick. :drool:
