So, anybody tired of Bret singin the same "think I'm great casue I punched Vince in the face" song that he's been singing for 10 years?

Also, as far as the part about Flair... Is Bret really the guy to talk? Sure he was great once but then he decided to throw a ten year long sniveling bitch fit. That isn't very great in my opinion. Flair continued to entertain until his body literally made him retire. That's an admirable trait IMO. Convincing people to feel sorry for you for a full decade isn't.

Pretty sure Bret Hart retired because of the concussion and the subsequent stroke. I'm sure Bret would still be wrestling if it weren't for that fact.

Yeah, it would be different if there was another developement once in awhile I guess. He just tells the same exact god damned story every single year like it's new information.

If Bret had just put Shawn over in the first place, the whole thing could have been avoided. For someone who grew up in the business, he didn't really treat it with much respect to refuse to lose one company's title before going to another.

For the last time - Vince McMahon gave him creative control and was breaching his contract. Bret Hart didn't owe Vince McMahon a thing. McMahon ain't exactly done what was best for his talent over the years.

Oh and Montreal happening changed the business so much that it had the biggest boom in the history of the industry. Would you really want to avoid that?

It's shockingly honest actually. One of my friends who is a huge Hart fan said he loved the book when I gave it to him but he went a bit sour on Hart for having an ego.

Every single star in the business with the exception of The Rock all had an ego. They wouldn't have been top guys without it.

Ive read Brets book and it is up there as one of my favs right next to Dynamite Kid but certain aspect of it did make him come off as an ego maniac though one can make a claim he earned the right

As for all the HBK lovers saying Bret is a douche for not wanting to drop the title to him.The main reason for that is because Shawn refused the same thing and instead of dropping the title to Bret "lost his smile" I also remember hear how HBK was refusing to drop the belt to stone cold.So HBK has pulled the same shit as Bret did.

Someone said all Bret hart does is talk about Montreal and Ric Flair and has been doing that for 10 years. Well, read this -

Notice that word in bold? If you didn't, here it is again INTERVIEW. If the guy is constantly interviewed about it, he's probably going to constantly talk about it. Has he thrown a bitch fit? Yes, absolutely, but he's not the only one to bring it up, so do interviewers, fans, and the WWE every fuckin chance they can, either to further Vince or Shawn as heels or to tease the fans with a Bret return.

Next thing...Bret DID put Shawn Michaels over. Wrestlemania 12 anyone? That's a fact, no disputing that. Now whether or not the Bret Hart/Dave Meltzer "True Story" is the truth or not, who knows? It's all subjective, you believe who you want. Maybe Shawn refused the job, maybe he didn't. I really don't care because as far as I'm concerned both men were in the wrong and so was Vince McMahon. Another fact: all three men are raving fucking egomaniacs, and rightfully so. And to a certain extent, Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart both acted like fucking children wanting daddy's approval, and Vince chose the child he loved more, it is what it is. Bret's probably bitter about that, he probably has a right to be. To me there is no one who comes off "in the right" in Montreal, and personally, I wish we didn't still talk about it. And goddamn if it wasn't 11 years ago, let's let it die already.

At least some people are starting to catch on about who actually keeps bringing it up.

Bret Hart is the greater legend than HBK, but Bret is pathetic for CONSTANTLY talking about "the screw job" even when others bring it up. If Bret was truly 'over it' or 'the bigger man', he'd simply say (to the interviewer), "You know what man....it was a long time ago...I'm over it." Period.

Bret is either doing this for the money (controversy sells), or because he truly hasn't gotten over it.

Shawn Michaels (Michael Hickenbottom) is a joke (human being...not wrestler) and his faith in Christianity is also garbage. However - as unfortunate as it is, Bret is actually making Hickenbottom to look like the bigger man.

Now I'm not going to say "yay bret" or "fuck bret" (albeit by now I'm sure most of you know what side I'm on) but as a man, he needs to get over it. He didn't want to play ball with his boss, which is the worst thing to do, ever. He made his choice, and he has to live with it.
I'm sure Bret would get more support from the fans if he didn't openly bitch about it every few months.

I can see why you (and probably others) would think that, but I personally feel if he did say that to an interviewer and not discuss about it then he would probably come across as still being bitter, especially if the interviewer asks questions about Owen and Stu etc and he opened up about that.

This is the first time I've EVER heard of this, this is brand new news to me.

If somebody was paying me that much money to show up and tell the same story over and over again, everyone had better be ready to hear that story a lot. Same situation here.

Is it old news? Yes.
Are we tired of hearing it? Yes.
Is Bret tired of telling it? I'd have to say yes.
Is he still getting paid to tell it? Yes.
Are we going to continue hearing it until he stops getting asked/paid about it? Yes.

Don't see why everyone gets so worked up over it. It's the same thing everyone of us would do unless we were incredibly stupid enough to turn down easy money.

If anything we should be upset with the people who ask him the same question 1000 different ways and expect a different answer.

I don't see it that way at all. All Bret has (had?) to do in this situation, is say, "Look...it happened a long time ago. Vince and I are on decent terms now, Shawn Michaels has become a better person, and I think it's time that we all move on.' PERIOD.

Heck - even if Bret DOESN'T believe that HBK has truly "evolved", Bret would still look like a much bigger man by saying that. Instead - Bret, like a bitter idiot, continues to talk trash whenever the subject is brought up. He may not INITIATE these conversations, but he JUMPS at the opportunity when others bring it up. To me - that indicates one of two things (or both):

1) Bret still isn't over the Screw Job.
2) Bret knows that by continuously talking about it, there is $$$ in it for Bret....and people still keep Bret in mind.

It's interesting how Bret continues to trash Vince, etc., but had no problem accepting the WWE Hall of fame induction.

I will say this from personal experience. When I went to the NWA Fanfest here is Charlotte in 2005, Bret did a Q&A there with about 100-200 people. He said at the beginning of the session that he didn't want to spend time on two subjects: Owen Death and Montreal. He reasoned because he gets asked about it all the time. And he never mentioned anything about eathier of them throughout the 2 hour Q & A.

Having said that - I STILL think that it's sad that Bret trashes Vince and HBK on certain occassions (and still talks about Montreal at certain times).

I can't talk for Bret Hart but every interview where Montreal gets brought up, he always mentions how he is on speaking terms with Vince McMahon and is LOOOOOOOONG over it. He continously says the stroke he had ended any bitterness he had in his life, not just that night.

And as for me, it only bothers me how people ignore facts and keep harping on about this like it's something new people will change their minds on.

A little off topic but I love how people go on about my man love for Bret and never bring up how much I've rated Shawn Michaels since his comeback and how he was one half of my tag team man crush.

Blame the higher ups who hadnt a clue then, not Bret. Bret was still putting on the best matches there while being fucked over by clueless guys in charge of things, hence why the promotion died.

And Bret only talks about it whenever asked about it. That's what people always bring up with him whenever they interview the guy.

Anyways his book is fucking primo. Pick it up.

Not gonna lie I actually enjoyed Bret's run in WCW, post Owen Hart's death. Up until nWo 2000 came around anyway.

I was getting worried about you for awhile there. This thread is 4 days old and we hadn't heard from you.

Being a Canadian (and unlike that asshole Scott Delaney poster.....:shifty:), I'll always love Bret. While I do think HBK was the better wrestler (by the slimmest margin), Bret is easily one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time. IMO - here is the top 5.

1) Kurt Angle
2) Dynamite Kid
3) Shawn Michaels
4) Bret Hart
5) Ric Flair

Bret however, atleast in my opinion, was a bigger legend than HBK.

My only annoyance with Bret (and even you have to admit this), is that he DOES (on certain occasion) jump at the fact to attack HBK and Vince.....even when others are the ones bringing it up. In my opinion - Bret would prove himself to be a FAR bigger man if he NEVER spoke about this issue...period. All he has to do (when others bring it up), is smile and say....lets let the past be the past.
