Anything by Joy Division is from the 70s I believe. Didn't Ian Curtis commit suicide in 1979? If not it was very early in 1980 which was after their last recordings
I agree though Clox, I think Love Will Tear Us Apart is one of the greatest songs ever, along with a lot of their shit. I can only comment on people lists here, with my own opinionated reactions. It's impossible for me to make any kind of list. Edit: I thought I recognized Distortion, but I was thinking "Isolation". As far as I know or can see on the track listings of my cds, they don't have a song called Distortion....? |
Maybe you mean New Order
Actually it was on the 79 album, although Closer came out in 1980.
But I meant to say Disorder, not distortion. |
Disorder? Is that what you mean? Excellent song if so.
And the Power Corruption and Lies album is a very nice album as well.
The first 20 seconds of Burning For You by Blue Oyster Cult. I repeat just those first 20 seconds, have been stuck in my head since birth
Yo Clox, have you seen that new documentary on Joy Division?
Fascination Street by The Cure is one of the best songs ever
Little Red Corvette
And the song that never ends from Lambchops Playalong
Duel Of The Iron Mic - GZA/Genius
I think the best rap song ever is Notorious Thugs
or anyhting by Wu Tang. But even though I have a soft spot for SOME rap, I don't rank much of it on the level of my favorite "bands"
Lay You Down- G Unit

God's Gonna Cut You Down - Johnny Cash
