that dick from nickelback. i saw a show about them on tv and he was being interviewed and he basically said straight up he had a formula for making songs that would sell as many copies as possible, and that he keeps the topic of his songs simple because obviously his fanbase is full of humongous morons.

I read an interview with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer who claimed something like that too.
