Yeah since I'm the greatest Metallica fan on TPWW I should be the one to start this.

So we know that Master of Puppets is confirmed. Which songs should and should not be included.

Well I myself also a big 'Tallica fan am geeked up for it . It probably will be full band play as all music games will be from now on.

If they keep strictly to the early stuff it will be great.

I dunno. I'll give it a chance, but Battery was one of the least immersive songs I played in RB2. I felt like I was pushing buttons more than playing along, and without the whole immersive rock star fantasy is gone, I feel kind of silly fingering a large piece of plastic.

Although DMac will certainly enjoy fingering his plastic phallus and thinking of James....

Nah, there's a lot of newer stuff that would be fun to play too. From a difficulty standpoint, it's good to have them in lower sets.

Full band is the current standard now right? They will sell copies regardless, but they would make more money if they had full band sets at 189 bucks to Metallica fans who don't have RB or GH.

A full band set would be over doing it. Just sell the game alone and make it compatible with the instruments. Most people who'll buy surely have past peripherals.

Let's not rule out a 'Tallica exclusive guitar, though.

Funny you say that, cause I was thinking that Death Magnetic should be playable in this game. I don't think there's an interface to separate one DLC from another (but really, just have old DLC work in exclusive GH games anyway).

Game Informer is claiming 28 songs straight from Metallica, 17 from their favorites and influences. They're also saying that most DLC won't be compatible with this, but Death Magnetic will be.

Nah if you could export songs from World Tour to this, then it would be obsolete. But it still has it's uses. Like Ozzy and The Eagles.

I wonder if this will have Guitar Battle vs Kirk, Bass Battle vs Robert, and Drum Battle vs Lars? Vocal Battle vs James? lol

Also, I wonder if in No Leaf Clover they will have the symphony rendered in the game, or if it will just be the song and Met playing, or taking the symphony out alltogether.

I don't think the symphony tracks would be hard to keep. It's a lot of layers (I wasn't at the mix or anything), but it could happen.

And speaking of that, why the fuck wasn't Fade To Black on that set-list? Those S&M tracks were epic. S&M Master of Puppets changed my life.

There's still more Met songs to be announced. FTB will probably be one of them. Better be anyways.

I'm wondering about the RB Drums as well. I'd like to try getting this, then returning the unopened game to a different Gamestop. It connects via splitter.

If you downloaded the "Death Magnetic" album for Xbox and PS3, those ten songs will play in their entirety in the full game mode. PS2 and Wii versions (coming in the Spring, most likely in early May) will include "Broken Beat & Scarred," "Cyanide" and "My Apocalypse" since they are not compatible with the Death Magnetic downloadable content.

Figured there would be a St. Anger song on there. Hoped for The Unnamed Feeling but Frantic is ok I guess. No Until it Sleeps kinda sucks. But at least it has Fade and Sanitarium.

Also was hoping for the Metallica version of Turn the Page. DLC hopefully.

Was the same way with the GH Aerosmith game, what made you think this would be any different.

They claim there aren't any exclusive acts. I'm kinda pissed that the Metallica game gets a Queen tune, albeit this one makes sense. I just don't like the track list enough to bother.

On the plus side, if they marketed it for one band, there's an increased chance it'll appear on the other.

COC and the Sword will both get HUGE bumps from this.

My buds disowned me for buying the 'Tallica pack last year for RB (citing its difficulty as reason), so it's safe to say I'll be rocking it alone when I get the game. Damn shame, nothing beats offline all-Expert band play but it seems me and my nephew will be the only ones jamming on the thing.

FUCK. They choose now to drop that shit? I guess my hopes of future Guitar Heroes having Lead/Rhythm/Bass options on one track is shot down. And I figured this game would benefit most from it.

IGN Hands On:

- "Drum Over" mode let's you play a track with no Drum Note Chart, essentially you can provide whatever beat you want using the tracks set drum effects. And this my friends should have been in Rock Band fuckin one.
- All songs are unlocked for quickplay out of the box. Personally, unlocking songs through (co-op/single) campaign play should be one convention that remains untouched. Don't get me wrong, I fuckin love the idea!
- "Metallifacts" is a non-playable mode where the band plays while pop-up facts appear on screen. Yeah, they said it was like Pop-Up Video.

The latest Guitar Hero sold more on Wii than PS3 and 360 combined, yet it's being released for Wii later.

I also don't understand why they wouldn't have lead and rhythm guitars.

The only albums I've loved are their ones from the 80s. Black album was great, but I never got too into it. I'm surprised to like Death Magnetic as much as I do. I didn't like Load or Re-Load and St. Anger can suck my shit. I think this might be the first and only Guitar Hero game I own despite hating the fact that they're releasing way too many Guitar Hero games. One game a year should be enough.

No Four Horsemen pisses me off...

But Mercyful Fate medley makes me wet myself...

All Nightmare Long is a track waste IMO, they could have offered the DLC version free if you buy the game or some shit, and have another track like Turn the Page or Four Horsemen instead.

Me and a friend had this conversation and came to the following conclusion:

If "Load" and "Re-Load" were put out by any other band, they'd be considered Good Albums. And, in reality, they ARE good albums. They're just not good METALLICA albums. If that makes any sense.

Gamers will be able to take to the stage as Lemmy and even rock out to Motorhead's 2008 version of Ace of Spades. Guitar Hero Metallica features the iconic band as well as 21 other musical acts.
