Wrestlemania tickets

Did anybody get any over the weekend? I've got mine through the travel package, but was just wondering if anyone tried for tickets since they went on sale and to see if anyone from the forums will be in Houston.

Ben Rodrigues 11-13-2008 01:44 PM

Yeah I got.

Team Sheep 11-13-2008 02:00 PM

Sounds like a good spot right at the front of the tier :y:

St. Jimmy 11-13-2008 03:58 PM

Now remember - Cena overcomes the odds or your money back.

Team Sheep 11-13-2008 04:02 PM

I'm thinking Batista vs Cena and Taker vs HBK.

Halbowsky 11-13-2008 04:52 PM

I got a Platinum package also for the 3rd year in a row

Awesome. Do you get treated well as a package holder? This is my first Wrestlemania and I can't fucking wait. I'm well excited. Always wanted to do my own American adventure thing

Volare 11-13-2008 06:14 PM

So I'm gonna be worried more about looking for TPWW signs than the matches...sweet!

NeanderCarl 11-13-2008 06:19 PM

TS how much did it all set you back including flights? You flying from Cardiff or London?

The platinum package (including an extra night's stay at the hotel which I booked on top) was about $1800. The flights were an extra £500 flying direct from London Heathrow. I'm going for a week and I only have 4 nights of accomodation booked at the moment so I need to book another 3 nights somewhere.

So far for the package and flights it's put me back about £1,400. (I booked the package when the exchange rate was much better, i.e. £1=$2.)

Now onto booking the other 3 nights somewhere and saving up my spending money!

Shaggy 11-13-2008 11:00 PM

Got mine....I live in Houston so of course I planned on going this year.

FourFifty 11-13-2008 11:04 PM

We need to plan a small tpww.net WrestleMania meetup.

Team Sheep 11-14-2008 12:02 AM

Yeah.

FourFifty 11-14-2008 12:02 AM

It'll be at that place that Booker T and Boogen got kicked out of. We'll all wear crosses.

Lux 11-14-2008 12:32 AM

Hey 450, wanna throw down so I can see this? :D Buddy ol pal.

Team Sheep 11-14-2008 12:45 AM

Everyone should go to Wrestlemania. Go on. Do it.

Lux 11-14-2008 12:51 AM

I like the way Team Sheep thinks.

James Steele 11-14-2008 12:52 AM

They really don't treat you that well. You have to pay for all air & ground transportation, meals (except for the Bacon, Bagels, & Biceps Brunch), you have to wait on this long ass line to register and for autographs, and they rush you. You also have to find your own way to bring your commemorative chair home.

Last year in Orlando after The Hall of Fame, I didn't get back to the hotel after 2am because there were hardly any cabs. I really wish they had a shuttle to and from the events. Luckily, we found a cab after WrestleMania, but now I'm not so sure if he worked for a cab company. Plus, the hotel where they kept us at was so far from Universal Studios and The Citrus Bowl.

But Detroit was better. There was a train right in the hotel which took you to Ford Field and Fox Theatre.

But it's still an overall good experience. You meet people from all around the world and you get friendly with them since you all have something in common. You end up splitting cab rides with people and having dinner with those people. I met a couple of kids in Orlando who I've stayed in touch with to this day.

And in case anyone cares, I was the guy with the "FLAIR 4 EVER" sign at WrestleMania XXIV.

Package people are staying at the Hyatt Regency in Houston; so if we do a TPWW meet and greet, that would probably be a good place.

See you all in Houston!

For that reason I booked stay at the Holiday Inn next to the Reliant Stadium. Last years transportation after events was terrible.

Team Sheep 11-15-2008 06:19 AM

Isn't the transportation going to be much better this year? Isn't there like a metro line in Houston? I heard the Citrus Bowl wasn't exactly a prime location in Orlando, I can just imagine how hectic it was after the show.

There isn't enough whiskey in Houston...

NeanderCarl 11-15-2008 07:37 AM

This "Bacon, Bagels & Biceps" brunch... isn't a bagel originally a Jewish food? And am I right in thinking Jews don't eat pig products? Such as, y'know, bacon. And am I right in thinking Jews traditionally have underdeveloped biceps too?

Vince McMahon = the ultimate anti-semite.

NeanderCarl 11-15-2008 07:38 AM

Well... after that guy with the moustache, anyway.

Bagel Nash in Leeds does a pig feast bagel with bacon, pork, ham, sausage and all this crap in a choice of bael. Good eats.

Lux 02-25-2009 03:46 AM

Why would anyone feel it necessary to bring a Laser Pen?

Juan 02-25-2009 03:52 AM

Laser pens were all the rage in the late 90's

thedamndest 02-25-2009 03:59 AM

In case you need to make Melina look like she has a red nipple, lol.

Or blind her in one eye, not so lol.

Volare 02-25-2009 03:27 PM

Im saving up for Arizona.

Mooияakeя™ 02-25-2009 06:16 PM

So the platinum package (A-L) that TS got, is that the one to take home your chair?

I'd go, but it's a bit late now and I wanna get my car paid off this summer.

Next year, me thinks I'm going. Might rent an RV and just live in that. Be able to go drive somewhere across US then too.

Yeah get to take home the commemorative chair. No idea how I'm gonna get it back across the Atlantic but I guess I'll worry about that later.

Hell, I'll get some beer and bring it in my hotel room.... totally not hitting on you or anything, but since it's Texas you kinda have to drink while you're there or they'll kill you.

Get a suitcase big enough for a chair. Bring a crappy chair to Texas, and leave that chair in Texas so you have the room for a chair.

Nice one. I gotta have a drink whilst I'm there eh  My 21 year old brother's coming as well so he's gonna get me beer for the room :P Are you staying at the Hyatt?

FourFifty 02-27-2009 06:01 PM

Yea, that's part of the package.
I just gotta figure out the public transportation in Huston. I don't plan on renting a car, but I might have to break down and do it... as long as I can get GPS on that.

Transportation is pretty good. A taxi from the airport to the hotel is the most you'll spend probably (less from Hobby if that's where you're flying to cause it's closer to downtown than George Bush, George Bush is gonna cost me about $45-50 flat rate taxi to the hotel) but after that I'll just be living off the metro service. From what I understand it's $1 for a single journey, or $2 for a day ticket! And a taxi within downtown is a flat rate of $6 so it's all very reasonable.

Team Sheep 02-28-2009 11:59 AM

BTW FourFifty, I really don't think you need a hire car, but if you do decide to go for one then go with this place: http://www.budgetcarrental.com/budge...x.html?U152099
