I think a modern generation Indiana Jones game would be cool
I don't mean the Lego stuff. It's just not my thing, really. But watching the new Indy movie, I was thinking how cool a more open-world sort of game (Not as in Sandbox style, but various areas to explore) with an action theme. Mostly, I just want to kick Nazi ass with a whip and a gun.
I saw a "working title" PS3 game, though I know fuck all about it. Could be what I'm looking for if/when it comes out, but otherwise, I'd love to see a third person action game with some platforming and exploration elements. Though with my luck, it'll probably be full of QTEs or something. If anyone knows anything about the Indiana Jones game for the PS3, or if it's even real, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise, anyone else want an Indiana Jones game? |
By modern generation, I meant as in generation of consoles, not as in like Indiana Jones '09.

Sooo... Tomb Raider with nazis

And whips. I'm pretty sure the only whips Lara's ever used are in fanfics.
|
Hmmm
So some sort of Castlevania with Lara Croft and Nazis for Draculas |
Nazis for Draculas is probably an indie band
|
Mitchables and Clox probably think they're 10/10.
Still awesome summary. |
Was there a Castlevania set in the thirties or forties in Germany or India? Perhaps with Zombie Hitler?
|
Yes. With modern gaming it would be a lot of fun. The franchise obviously has potential for limitless stories and adventures, build around endless amounts of artifacts, history, and geography.
Since age will likely only allow them to do one more movie, if that, (which I'm all for btw), VGs is a great place to keep the potential alive. |
I remember seeing screenshots of a new Indy game ages ago - sure it involved cable cars in San Francisco or similar.
Pretty sure it is still in development, but Lucasarts put it on hold to focus on The Force Unleashed. |

I've been thinking they should take old movie licences and make next gen games, like they're doing with Ghostbusters.
Several things come to mind, like this, Terminator, Jurrasic Park etc. |

The PC Indy games were Tomb Raider with Nazis...seriously.
|
Never played one.
|
Wasn't there an Indy game for the Xbox? Was it any good? Is it BC with the 360?

That is seemingly still the game that's in development though. |

And a fucking awesome one, at that. |
Well of course that. But everybody should know about that one. At least I think they should.
I was talking all the modern gen stuff. |
Screw modern gen. Fate of Atlantis is the only Indy game that matters.

Sooo, in this Indy game, would you be Jones and the main part of the game is trying to escape the evil Jew clutches of Spielberg and Lucas before they rape you?
Sorry, I've only seen the south park version. |
Ooh, how clever of them.
|
An Indy game should have interactive 'Indy moments'. Like fist fighting Nazis on top of a truck at high speed, and being able to hop on other cars on the road. I'd like plenty of 'fighting on something moving toward doom' events.

Does any game still do that? That shit's weak. An paradox of cutscene/interaction I grew out of years ago.

I mean, if it's an otherwise excellent game, I will probably give it a spin, but... |
I remember Spider-Man 3 having those moments, but that was one of its many issues.
Kinda hard to believe Indy didn't get a decent game at this point, not so much as an honorable nod or anything. Especially with license-happy LucasArts at the helm. |
Errr, Lego Indiana Jones?

I don't know how frequently, but I was in a cutscene (or so I thought) and it started telling me to hit buttons. |
|
Non-news. Why even have a page?
|
Because they can.
|
Reason enough, I suppose.
For stupid shit. |

Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. It's coming out for Wii, PSP, and DS. |
I fuckin hate target render vids to announce games. 10 out of 10 times the game falls short.
Anyway, I wonder if this is the Indy game Lucasarts talked about for like three years. |
From what I've read, it's going to be using Force Unleashed's engine.
|
Oh, a half-decent physics engine under the hood of a non-decent ho-hum 3rd Person wasteofmoney. Is that right?
How do you even let a team responsible for platforming games just up and make a better Indy game than your own when you have the license? How hard is this sort of thing? Action, adventure, humor, chases - come on, people! |
why isnt this coming out on 360?
|
Why isn't what coming out for 360? We didn't see a damn thing.

Yea I was so happy to see this trailer earlier today except for the end when it shows the systems its on. Im glad that its coming out for some next gen consoles but I was really hoping for a 360 version. Who knows...the game still has time.
