"He's 400 lbs and he moves like a lightweight!!"

So we've heard similar things like this about everybody but who do you think this actually applies to? Who are guys that were massive but actually moved stealthily around.

Out of all the guys they've said it about over the years I can only think of a couple that I actually think were like that:

Mike Awesome
British Bulldog
Maybe Vader to an extent when he first came in.

Who do you think moved like a cat despite being a tank?

Kane Knight 12-27-2008 11:24 AM

I take it we're talking in KAYFABE? Like, what they show off in the ring, not their actual aptitude?

Gertner 12-27-2008 12:32 PM

Umaga moves extremely well for a heavyweight as did Bam Bam Bigelow and to a lessor extent Yokozuna until he got ridiculously huge. Rikishi was pretty agile as well.

Bulldog was like 5"10, 250, I'd hardly call that massive.

Nark Order 12-27-2008 12:37 PM

Yeah, I guess you're right. He seemed pretty huge on television though, maybe that's why I thought he was a bit bigger.

SuperSlim 12-27-2008 01:36 PM

What about "The Next Big Thing" Brock Lesnar

SammyG 12-27-2008 02:27 PM

Yeah. To a lesser extent, big show.

Dave Youell 12-27-2008 02:32 PM

Lashley

As for Big Show, the man could do a moonsault, that's enough to put him in that list.

Bam Bam was for my money the most agile big man going

The Mask 12-27-2008 02:43 PM

Jeritron 12-27-2008 02:55 PM

Kane and Undertaker have always impressed me for their size. They're tall, and huge, but they're proportioned normally, and are athletic as opposed to oafish.
They move pretty well in the ring. In fact, I'd say they move better than most of "normal" size.

Jeritron 12-27-2008 02:55 PM

You have to credit Joe for moving so well for a guy his size, but he's not really that big. He's wide, but he's not a big-man.

Savio 12-27-2008 03:23 PM

I wouldn't say kane or undertaker move like a light weight.

Good Ol JG 12-27-2008 04:47 PM

So I can't believe only 1 person has said Bam Bam Bigelow. He was the very definition of an agile big man. It's so amazing to think how a man that big could do moonsaults, drop kicks, he even cartwheeled for god's sake. Vader comes awfully close, but for my money no big guy ever moved as agile as the Bammer.

Juan 12-27-2008 05:00 PM

Bam Bam Bigelow was the first name that popped in my head. lol remember when he did cartwheels?

Gerard 12-27-2008 05:01 PM

Earthquake was pretty fast and agile for a big guy.

I wouldn't say that any of those guys move (or used to) like lightweights.

Ruien 12-27-2008 06:13 PM

Brock Lesnar.

parkmania 12-27-2008 07:12 PM

The Beast from the East wins this discussion hands-down.

Eh.... I'm sticking with Vader on this. Chris Farley could do a cartwheel. Vader was agile, but he was way more imposing than Bam Bam.

DaVe 12-27-2008 07:41 PM

Lesnar for sure.

I wouldn't say kane or undertaker move like a light weight.

Kane used to move pretty well with some missile drop kicks, standing dropkicks, non-sloppy flying clothesline, etc. And Taker has always had that crazy suicide dive over the top rope, spinning/flying lariat, and also used to come off the top rope with a few moves.

JT 12-27-2008 07:48 PM

I think no one else was really talking about Bam Bam because he was one of the first mentioned, but yea...the guy could definately move.

Other than that, I always think of Undertaker and Kane moving very swiftly for people their size. Granted...I can't say they move like lightweights, but Undertaker use to be able to pull off an amazing suicide dive over the top rope, and one of Kane's signatures is a lariet from the top rope. On top of that, you know anyone else that big that can actuall run as decently as them in the ring?

Mr. Nerfect 12-27-2008 09:27 PM

-Samoa Joe
-Umaga
-Brock Lesnar

Stop being such a smark.

The Optimist 12-28-2008 01:35 AM

Vader
Mike Awesome
Hugh Morris
Fake Kane/Festus
Samoa Joe, also, I guess.

Vastardikai 12-28-2008 01:51 AM

Big Bubba Rodgers/Big Bossman is an as yet unmentioned member of this list. He was incredibly agile for a guy as big as he was. Maybe not a Vader or a Bigelow, but still an impressive big man.

Obviously Bigelow and Vader.

Seriously though, Bam Bam was great.

Mark Henry or Big Daddy V

Volare 12-28-2008 07:10 AM

He didn't hit it on RVD...but it makes a statement all it's own.

Alright I've seen Bigshow, Yoko, Kane and Undertaker mentioned in this thread is there any 400 hundred pounders that moves like a 400 pounder?

Legend Killer 12-28-2008 01:27 PM

I was watching AWA on ESPN Classic the other night and a wrestler by the name of Jake "The Milkman" Milliman moved like a cat. He impressed me by his agility.

The Show Off 12-28-2008 04:17 PM

I think Bubba Ray Dudley is underrated for his size and agility.

lol Jake the Milkman was like 5"8 220. And was the winner of the turkey on a pole match!

Rollermacka 12-29-2008 05:10 PM

Vicious Vic Grimes in WSX :shifty:

The Franchise 12-29-2008 05:43 PM

Vader, Lesnar and Big Show. Although Show was a lazy fatass from like 2001 to 2003, then got good again. He was great in 2000.

The Rock did originally

ozzman6669 12-30-2008 01:48 PM

I saw some video from Andre The Giant when he was wrestling in Quebec and he was really agile, he did some dropkick and top rope move, nothing crazy but it was in the 70s.

That man was huge, but yes short. Turkey of a Pole Match? Should have been a cat or a rooster.

Vastardikai 12-30-2008 10:07 PM

Pussy on a pole sounds kinky.

Cock on a pole... just redundant.
