Your All Time WrestleMania Card
I did something similar about 5 years ago (ahead of WM20 I believe) and I think someone has done it since, but it seemed appropriate to do this again ahead of the 25th installment of WrestleMania.
The rules are as follows:
|
This link may or may not help you guys:
http://prowrestling.about.com/od/wre...Each_Event.htm I'll post mine shortly. |
No repeat titles either
Main Event Icon vs Icon-Hogan vs Rock Macho Man vs Ultimate Warrior - Retirement match Shawn Michaels vs Ric Flair - Flair's Final Match Tables Ladders and Chairs - E + C vs Hardy's vs Dudleys Bret Hart Vs Steve Austin - I Quit Match HHH vs Batista Title Match CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Carlito, Montel Vontavious Porter, Mr. Kennedy, and John Morrison - Money in the Bank Undertaker VS Kane - WM14 Eddie Guerrero vs Kurt Angle World Title Match |
Shit, I used Jericho Twice....Fucker, Ill fix that.
|
Triple H versus Jericho was a shit match, Hanso. Pretty easy fix, there.
|
Fixed

Quote:
That is the swing match....like just trying to find one that doesnt involve anyone else. |
I hear you.
|
There you go, that Batista match was way better.
|
Rey Mysterio v. Eddie Guererro (21)
Bret Hart v. Owen Hart (10) Ricky Steamboat v. Randy Savage (3) Edge & Christian v. Hardys v. Dudleys (16; aka WM 2000) HHH v. Cena (22) Shawn Michaels v. Kurt Angle (21) Rock v. Austin (19) Undertaker v. Batista (23) Hogan v. Warrior (6) And one note-- Yes, Rock v. Austin from 19, not 17. I preferred this one, for whatever reason. Maybe because Rock was playing a stellar heel at the time, and he won this one. |
OK, I did this without repeating any title defenses (so if there's a title defended on this show, it's only defended once). I also did it without repeating any wrestlers. I know a lot of matches were omitted due to the stipulations, but I think that this would be a pretty solid card. The main event would be the first match listed, and the opener the last:
(WWE Championship) Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar (WM19) (World Heavyweight Championship) Triple H vs. Batista (WM21) Hulk Hogan vs. The Rock (WM18) Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels (WM19) (United States Championship) MVP vs. Chris Benoit (WM23) (Retirement Match) Ultimate Warrior vs. Randy Savage (WM7) (Tag Team Championship) TLC Match - Edge and Christian vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz (WM17) (Hollywood Backlot Brawl) Roddy Piper vs. Goldust (WM12) Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (WM10) |
Quote:
Not a bad card, I too thought about the Childkiller/MVP match. But I think the Austin/Hart match was the best match ever, so that was a no brainer, and really made it hard to work around it. |
Yeah, it was a real toss up between Hart/Austin, Hart/Michaels, and Hart/Owen, but I was the BIGGEST Owen Hart mark at the time and I couldn't believe he had actually beaten Bret. That match will always have a special place for me.
The other matches I would have considered Austin for would have been title matches, but I already had those titles being defended on the card. |
The funniest thing to me was throughout The Undertaker's "illustrious" streak, the only match I even almost considered putting on there was versus Edge just last year, but the TLC had to be on. His matches were mostly shit, minus Flair and maybe Triple H.
|
I also just noticed that I originally accidentally listed Angle/Lesnar as happening at Wrestlemania 6. I guess that will tell you what other match almost had that spot on my card.
|
Yeah, Taker has seriously only had 5 or 6 good WM matches.
Edge, Orton, Bats (was not bad for Bats) Trips, Flair, Sid and Kane or really the only decent matches. I mean, A Train and Big Show, Gonzalez, Snuka past his prime, Mark Henry etc. are nothing to be proud of. |
No LT vs. Bam Bam Bigelow? How dare you all!
|
Salt-N-Pepa will be furious with all of us.
|
WWE Championship
Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels World Heavyweight Championship Triple H vs. Batista (just had to get Triple H in this somehow) The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan Triple Threat TLC for Tag Team Championship Edge & Christian vs. Hardys vs. Dudleys Intercontinental and European Championship Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow Macho Man Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat Undertaker vs. Big Show & A-Train Playboy Pillow Fight Torrie Wilson vs. Candice Michelle |
Triple Naitch's card confuses me. Some complete garbage mixed with some greatness. What's his angle?
|
Well this is like a best of Wrestlemania DVD I guess ....
WM 17 - The Rock vs Stone Cold Steve Austin WM 20 - Shawn Michaels vs Triple H vs Chris Benoit WM 10 - Bret Hart vs Owen Hart WM 17 - Edge and Christain vs The Dudley Boys vs The Hardyz WM 3 - Randy Savage vs Ricky Steamboat WM 18 - Undertaker vs Ric Flair WM 14 - New Age Outlaws vs Cactus and Chainsaw Charlie WM 24 - Big Show vs Floyd Mayweather WM 12 - Goldust vs Roddy Piper There is a lot I would like to put on there but with those rules thats what I quickly came up with, I would also like to give mention to Hogan/Slaughter at WM 17, and Edge/Undertaker from last year, as well as the I Quit match from WM 13. |
Pretty crazy that somebody else but the Hollywood Backlot Brawl on too.
|
WWF/WWE Title - Hulk Hogan v Ultimate Warrior - WrestleMania 6
From a mark standpoint this was the biggest matchup of all time. So for nostalgia I will run with this. The Rock v "Stone Cold" Steve Austin - WrestleMania 19 I chose this not because I'd already had a WWE Title match but because it was my favourite of their series. HHH v Undertaker - WrestleMania 17 As said, Taker has some God awful WM matches. This is my personal favourite and it gets HHH on the card. WWE Tag Team Championship - TLCII - Edge & Christian v The Dudley Boyz v The Hardy Boyz - WrestleMania 17 Why anyone would choose the Triple Threat Ladder match from WM16 over this I don't know. Bret Hart v Owen Hart - WrestleMania 10 I think in my card from 5 years ago I had the Bret v Piper IC match from WM8 however, I can't have 2 IC Title matches and this is a stormer. Lots to choose from for Bret though - v Austin (13), v HBK (12) etc. Shawn Michaels v Ric Flair - WrestleMania 24 HBK always proves a problem when I try and do this. HBK v Jericho from 19 was my choice 5 years ago. Then we had HBK v Angle. IC/European Title - Triple Threat Double Pin Match - Chris Jericho v Kurt Angle v Chris Benoit - WrestleMania 16 I need to get Jericho and Angle on the card and as much as I'd like to get Angle v Eddie in there it's a WWE Title match, as is Angle v Lesnar. Street Fight - Vince McMahon v Shane McMahon - WrestleMania 17 This was a great little brawl. The storyline leading in was great, with Shane buying WCW from under his father's nose. As well as the match quality we had the culmination of the storylines involving both Trish and Linda. Eddie Guerrero v Rey Mysterio - WrestleMania 21 Like I said I would have loved to have Eddie's match against Angle on here but gotta stick to "the rules". |
Hogan/Warrior was at Wrestlemania 6.
|
Yeah, I knew that. No idea why I put 8 in there.
|
WWE Championship
Kurt Angle vs Brock Lesnar I Quit Match- Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret Hart Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho The Undertaker vs HHH Intercontinental Championship- Ricky Steamboat vs Macho Man Randy Savage Tag Team Championship - TLC Edge and Christian vs The Hardys vs The Dudley Boys The Rock n Sock Connection vs Evolution (This isn't one of the top 9 matches, but I wanted to get these guys on the card. Plus another tag match gives it balance) Women's Championship- Trish Stratus vs Mickie James (again, in the name of balance) Hardcore Title- Kane vs Big Show vs Raven (some backstage mayhem to switch things up.) |
I really have no clue. Not happy with that at all. I had a hard time getting all the guys I wanted in, while still not using too many title matches or making the card too stacked.
It needs to have diverse matches so that it's not one list of 9 main events. |

My Dream Wrestlemania Card TLC Triple Tag E&C VS Hardys VS Dudleys Retirement Match Flair Vs HBK WM 19 Stone Cold Vs The Rock WWE Championship Match Brock Lesnar Vs Kurt Angle Brother Vs Brother Bret Vs Owen "Macho Man" Randy Savage Vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat Taker Vs HHH Money in the Bank CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Carlito, Montel Vontavious Porter, Mr. Kennedy, and John Morrison No Trips Sorry just cant really think of a good match with him that doesnt already have another person or title involved |
You used Edge twice.
|
So that makes space for HHH to take on Taker.
|
Steve Austin vs. The Rock (X7)
Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior (VI) Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart (X) Undertaker vs. Batista (23) Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit (XX) Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather (24) TLC II (X7) Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase (as if Hogan would just be content with his only appearance being a J.O.B. You can replace DiBiase with Steamboat or Flair here) (IV) Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle (XIX) Gutted there's no Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude and maybe a few others but I ran out of room :-\ Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest Mania celeb appearances and you gotta have glitz so that's why that's there. Toss up between TLC II and the WM2000 match but I think the 2nd is there probably just for that spear. |
WWF CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. The Rock "The King of Kings" Triple H vs. John Cena INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker WWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TLC MATCH The Hardys vs. Edge and Christian vs. The Dudley Boys Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP TRIPLE THREAT MATCH Kane vs. Raven vs. The Big Show EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH X-Pac vs. Shane McMahon |
Intercontinental Championship - Steamboat v. Savage (c)
Bret v. Owen Hart Tag Team Championship - Edge and Christian v. Dudleyz v. Hardyz (WM X7) Austin v. The Rock (WM X7) WWE Championship - Eddie Guerrero v. Kurt Angle Women's Championship - Mickie James v. Trish Stratus Shawn Michaels v. Ric Flair Undertaker v. HHH The Brain Busters v. Strike Force I tried to only use each title once. I only have two tag matches though, and one is TLC II, but I guess it's balanced. |
Ugggh........I need to post. Can't resist this thread!
Heyman's all-time Wrestlemania Card: (EASILY the best card in this thread :p)

Would make it much easier for myself as far as opening up other match possibilities and title matches if I could just bring myself to take Stone Cold vs Bret Hart off my card, but that would be a massive injustice.

I actually think Steamboat/Savage is somewhat overrated, but I can't think of a better IC title match from WrestleMania history to fill that spot. (Razor/HBK was amazing, but HBK's matches with Jericho and Angle were better).
|
I didn't really see the point of putting an Intercontinental title match on a Wrestlemania card, seeing as to how they hardly ever do anyway.

Hmmm.....
Good one. I tried to think of every IC title match at every WrestleMania and somehow that slipped past me. It was a great match. I could probably see Steamboat/Savage = Hart/Piper. I still would put Steamboat/Savage on my card over that match though, because how could I possibly justify leaving arguably the greatest WrestleMania match of all time, Stone Cold vs Bret Hart, off the card to put the Hart/Piper match on instead? |
'Cause Austin has Austin/Rock (X7) to fall back on, which was every bit as good as Austin/Hart :) (Me arguing this even though I left Piper off my card altogether and included Steamboat/Savage)
|
I think it's pretty clear that I WIN.

I'm a fan of three of the four guys. Not to big on Bret "My paychecks for the last decade were written by one match" Hart (or was it "Hitman"?) but I'm a huge fan or Rowdy Roddy Piper. Savage and Steamboat on the other hand.... Much love to Steamboat, but from what I've read Savage was a bit of a control freak when it came to his matches. However, if Piper and Steamboat ever got in the ring for the IC title with each other I would cream my pants. |

It's pretty obvious by Delaney's card alone that he's a sock/troll.
The Fatal Fourway main event was shit, the Taker/Bossman match was the worst HiaC match there has ever been, Brock/Goldberg was a major letdown. I could go on. Why you guys give him the satisfaction of derailing the thread I will never know. Also, other people have had the title(s) defended numerous times on their cards. It's up to them, I never stated that you couldn't just that you should make it balanced/realistic. |
Dude you spelled it wrong AGAIN!!!
