Loved the first one, this one looks quite interesting. Shame its quite some time before it comes out though.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-06-2009 03:33 PM

I loved the first one too, but I know I shouldn't have. If you want highly repetitive, that was what it was, but for some reason it worked. Can't wait for this.

Kalyx triaD 02-06-2009 03:42 PM

Civil War adapted to a game, huh? I kinda like it, but I wonder how the hero vs hero dynamic will translate to a game where all the heroes have to work together in a co-op gameplay system. And will they pull back the damn camera this time?

I didn't watch the vids, but if that's what it's based on I'm now super-hyped.

Wasn't there a Marvel Zombies game planned?

Kalyx triaD 02-06-2009 03:53 PM

I don't think so, but I wouldn't be surprised if we got some zombie skins for this game. It would make more sense than that shit in SvR (what the fuck were they thinking?).

#BROKEN Hasney 02-06-2009 03:59 PM

Fuck that, it would just be skins in an Activision game. We need a proper Marvel Zombies game.

Kalyx triaD 02-06-2009 04:05 PM

They treat there Ultimate Universe like a bastard child, there's little hope for Zombies. Would be funny, though.

#BROKEN Hasney 02-06-2009 04:14 PM

I would normally agree with you about the Marvel Zombies, but if they're interested in the civil war story and pull this off PROPERLY, I will disagree with you.

Mr Regal 02-06-2009 05:23 PM

That could be immense.

Fryza 02-06-2009 10:40 PM

So fucking pumped.

Still need to finish one more achievement on the first one to 100% it.

Wish this came out sooner.

Funky Fly 02-06-2009 11:50 PM

Fuck yeah. Love these shits.

HeartBreakMan2k 02-06-2009 11:53 PM

So excited about this game. We've been playing through the first one again lately. Ready for a new one. Especially the Civil War base.

Dorkchop 02-07-2009 01:56 PM

I'm hoping to own a 360 or PS3 by the end of the year so I might wait to pick it up. I have the first one on the Wii and it's pretty fun even though the motion controls are tacked on. I'm glad they've improved every new game in the series (X-Men Legends included). I started X-Men Legends II a month ago and Marvel Ultimate Alliance is so much better (I loved both X-Men Legends still). I wonder how awesome this will be.

Kalyx triaD 02-07-2009 02:04 PM

I hope the interactive moves are still in. It's funny, I found the Wii controls silly but liked using a thumbstick to control certain action (like Thor's tornado, where I have to yell, "For Asgard!" while doing it).

That does it, buying the damn game again.

Dorkchop 02-07-2009 02:22 PM

The only thing I loved about the Wii controls was rotating the camera by rotating the nunchuck.

DaveBrawl 02-11-2009 12:40 PM

Cant wait for this. Went back and finished beating the first one again a couple weeks ago. The one thing I hope they fix is the mini game on the PS3 where you had to tilt the controller in certain directions to complete a task. It didn't work half the time for me. I liked the PS2 version better where you just hit the coresponding button as it popped up on screen.

Kalyx triaD 04-06-2009 12:25 PM

IGN put up a preview of the game.
  • You choose a side (either for or against the Registration Act) and stick to it for the whole game. There are multiple endings, of course.
  • You can choose which superheroes join your side, if you think Iron Fist may have a good reason for joining Iron Man for whatever reason.
  • Iron Fist confirmed, BTW.
  • IGN, the pussies that they are, made no mention of whether the cramp camera would be pulled back in any way or why the visuals just barely improve over MUA1. They'll basically hype until review time when they'll surely complain then, not when the devs might do something about it.

#BROKEN Hasney 04-06-2009 12:27 PM

Yeah, IGN's a joke site. Every game they preview will be the best game of all time ever.

DaveBrawl 04-06-2009 12:54 PM

What's the current release date on this by the way?

Kalyx triaD 04-06-2009 01:20 PM

Fall 2009

G 04-06-2009 01:57 PM

Maybe I'll play the first one some more. I think I put maybe 15 minutes into it.

LuigiD 04-07-2009 02:51 AM

I loved the first one.
I have high expectations for this one..even though..didn't the first one end with Galactus getting pissed? I wonder if we will something about that on this one.
thumbs up for the Iron Fist.
I wish they had side missions like X-Men Legends were you took part of famous comic book moments like Juggernaut raiding the mansion. Would be nice to have a mission like that with the zombies..

Juggernaut is going to be a Gamestop pre-order bonus. I hate those things.

Kalyx triaD 05-29-2009 02:11 PM

God dammit. He's the Juggernaut, bitch!

Fignuts 05-29-2009 02:59 PM

It's nice that they are basing the story around civil war, but just once, I'd like to be able to play all the notable story arcs in marvel history. Kind of like how you pick sagas in dragonball z games.

I can never get into these games, because the story feels like a saturday morning cartoon, where nothing notable ever happens. It feels like filler.

Fignuts 05-29-2009 07:20 PM

Pretty sweet to see the thunderbolts and young avengers in there.

Funky Fly 05-29-2009 07:34 PM

Bullseye FTW

Triple Naitch 05-29-2009 07:46 PM

Not a big comic guy, but I loved the first one.

Hornicane 05-29-2009 07:54 PM

Got the first one right after I moved out of my parents house and was playing it with my brothers, and we still haven't managed to get through it since we can only get together occasionally. Gonna have to get on that shit by September, apparently.

Kalyx triaD 05-30-2009 12:46 AM

Hope we get more X-Men.

The Destroyer 05-30-2009 03:47 AM

Better dig out the old X-Men Legends games if you want more X-Men, since if anything this game will probably have less X-Men in it. They didn't really have a huge involvement in Civil War in the comics.

Kalyx triaD 05-30-2009 03:52 AM

And we're looking at Storm, Wolverine, and Thor - who had about nothing to do with the story line.

LuigiD 05-30-2009 10:43 AM

I think the game will probably have the usual x-men..Cyclops,storm,Wolverine,etc. Maybe gambit due to Wolverine Origins. I hope this game is longer than the first one. I swept through the first one pretty quick and I was left hungry.
The only guys I want are Punisher and Ronin.

Fignuts 05-30-2009 01:04 PM

Glad they've finally decided to pick one universe for the designs. The mix of ultimate and 616 was another reason it felt like filler.

LuigiD 09-11-2009 11:57 PM

I am surprised you guys aren't talking about this yet.
I wasn't so hyped for this game until recently until I got more info.
The roster looks awesome. I am excited for the new comers like Iron Fist, The Goblin, Venom, etc.
http://cdn.uncaged.com/marvel/mua2/i...03_0019_ra.jpg

I swear..if the Iron Patriot costume is in as an unlockable..I am fucking marking out.

Funky Fly 09-12-2009 12:30 AM

K, I have $70 and change in gamestop credit (got a lot more than I was expecting for my trade ins to get Beatles, woop woop) so I'll probably get this right away.

DaveBrawl 09-12-2009 01:54 AM

Already preordered it to get the Juggernaut last Monday. I have a few things to trade in that will hopefully knock a good chunk out of what's remaining.

Funky Fly 09-12-2009 02:06 AM

Juggy's preorder only? Boooooo

Jura 09-12-2009 02:23 AM

Grenado - A tornado filled with grenades.

HeartBreakMan2k 09-12-2009 11:16 AM

I've had it paid for for about 2 weeks, which makes me fill like a bit of a loser haha. Anyway, the Gamestops already have it, they received it yesterday. I'm sure there are a couple of stores breaking streetdate.

LuigiD 09-12-2009 11:39 AM

by the way, the Wii version has 3 special characters.
The Wii version is getting Blade, Cyclops and Psylocke(:D)
No Juggy tho.

DaveBrawl 09-12-2009 02:14 PM

I took my games in to Gamestop to trade to get some credit to help pay off what's left of this, and they game me $7 for TNA Impact, but only $2 for Madden 09. Now I know it's probably because they get so many copies of Madden and the new one is out as well, but I was shocked to get over $.25 for Impact, much less more than Madden. They gave me $5 for SVR 09 and $1.75 for SVR08. Ended up with more than enough to cover the rest so I am just amped for Tuesday.

LuigiD 09-12-2009 02:48 PM

So it looks like the final roster of the game will be:
Captain America, Daredevil, Deadpool, Gambit, Green Goblin, Hulk, Human Torch, Iceman, Invisible Woman, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Jean Grey, Luke Cage, Mister Fantastic, Penance, Songbird, Spider-Man, Storm, Thing, Thor, Venom, Wolverine.

Wii exclusives: Psylocke, Cyclops and Blade.
Xbox 360 and PS3 exclusive: Juggernaut.
Nintendo DS exclusives: She-Hulk and The Sentry.

There is a ton of other characters..however, they haven't been confirmed as playable or what role they will have. Most likely they will be members to recruit for each faction.
Among them there is:
A-Bomb, Bishop, Blacklash, Black Panther, Black Widow, Bullseye, Cable, Cloak And Dagger, Colossus, Equinox, Firestar, Grim Reaper, Hercules, Havok, Justice, Lady Deathstrike, Maria hill, Moonstone, Patriot, Prodigy, She-Hulk, Spider-Woman, War Machine and Wonderman.

good line-up in my opinion. Sad not to see Fury's name in the playable list or Ghost Rider.

DaveBrawl 09-12-2009 02:56 PM

That is a great lineup. It could be cool if you could play as Havok, it could bring about some fun times. I kind of miss Magneto though. He was my favorite from X-Men Legends 2 and once you had him powered up he was almost unfair to use.

But it is nice to see a lot of new characters to use this time.

Disturbed316 09-12-2009 02:56 PM

SPOILERS

Apparently Fury is unlockable as something called RoboFury, and is also the last boss of the game., according to a few people on GameFAQs. Can't confirm yet, but apparently someone has some pictures gonna try to find them.

I am pretty sure the Wii exclusives will probably appear for download in the other consoles sooner or later. Just like it happens with most wii games.

Kalyx triaD 09-13-2009 02:47 PM

Yeah, they're all coming a DLC. They're not crazy.

Nark Order 09-15-2009 07:19 PM

I preorded it a couple months ago and picked it up today. I didn't get my juggernaut code though. Pretty pissed.

Funky Fly 09-15-2009 07:48 PM

I got it for $5. Fucking love that extra trade in credit promo they've got right now. Maybe your code is inside the case, Narc. When I picked mine up, they had the preorder copies separated from the general release copies.

Also, when I got Arkham Asylum at Walmart, they had the DLC code slip packaged inside case then too.

Nark Order 09-15-2009 08:18 PM

It wasn't in the case or anything so I called my gamestop store. Apparently you need to go to www.gamestop.com/mua2vip and put in your receipt code. They'll send the code in e-mail in a day or so. Lame.

Funky Fly 09-15-2009 08:30 PM

Fuck that noise.

G 09-15-2009 09:26 PM

at least you're getting it, since it guarantees you a code then. i don't see what the big fuss is about. prevents gs employees from stealing all the codes for themselves. i prefer this

Reavant 09-15-2009 09:32 PM

so you can never get jug if you didnt preorder the game?

G 09-15-2009 09:39 PM

kind of the point of being a "preorder bonus".

i dunno maybe tho

G 09-15-2009 09:39 PM

DLC for 400 points perhaps

LuigiD 09-15-2009 11:35 PM

The game is good but not as good as the original.
As awesome as Civil War is..the game feels way too short and I don't feel like they do Civil War justice and the final boss is a real lame ass.

The Genius 09-15-2009 11:46 PM

i picked this up hours ago and the guy at gamestop said that since juggernaut was a gamestop exclusive it will never appear as DLC. you also had to use some special code that was on each preorder receipt or something.

Your guy is wrong.
XBL says it's a gold membership exclusive dlc.
Either way you look at it, be it XBL or gamestop, they're lying about Juggernaut being exclusive.

Either way you look at it, be it XBL or gamestop, they're lying about Juggernaut being exclusive.

XBL Market Place.
He's free to gold members, and unavailable to silver.

The Genius 09-16-2009 05:03 AM

weird i was there earlier today downloading the 18mb patch so that i could play with others who had juggernaut but didnt see juggernaut himself. ill go check again.

The Genius 09-16-2009 05:12 AM

is it called "juggernaut playable character teaser"?

HeartBreakMan2k 09-16-2009 05:30 AM

They did that last year with the four downloadable characters as well. Just meant you could play with people who had them, but you don't actually get him.

G 09-16-2009 10:15 AM

Well I haven't located one yet but I read stories about just sticking anything in at the receipt website tends to work. But can take hours to get it so I dont know if its successful yet or not.
http://www.gamestop.com/gs/landing/m...p/default.aspx

Apparently it goes like this XXXXX/XX-XXX
first 5 is store ID. you can use gamestop store locator to get a store ID
next XX is register #, I hear keep it 01, 02, or 03. And last xxx is sale #, I heard keep it under 200.
So I did 2, we'll see what happens. Might be delayed now because other people tried some bogus info. but im thinking back and wondering how hard it would be to check this since no date is involved, and transaction # cant pass 999 anyways.

Just tried it and it said

Thank you for entering your information.

Your code for VIP access will be emailed to you within two business days. Codes for the Juggernaut unlock will be emailed when the game is released.

We'll see what happens. I don't even have the game.

Funky Fly 09-16-2009 02:20 PM

If it works, send me the code then, plz.

G 09-16-2009 02:42 PM

Nah it's for me for when I do get the game.

G 09-16-2009 02:45 PM

2 different forums are saying this works SO STAY POSITIVE

Funky Fly 09-16-2009 05:46 PM

Yo, for the store ID I see most stores have 3 or 4 digit numbers, but the receipt number has 5 digits. Do I just put a 0 at the beginning or what?

G 09-16-2009 05:49 PM

I guess. That's what my receipt said. I actually just copied what was on my MW2 receipt.

Dorkchop 09-16-2009 07:10 PM

I heard the Wii version is kind of ass. I really liked the first one on Wii, despite the tacked on motion controls. There's a very small chance I might get a PS3. If I do I'll pick it up for that.

The Genius 09-16-2009 09:20 PM

i followed sgand's advice and got the following:

Thank you for entering your information.

Your code for VIP access will be emailed to you within two business days. Codes for the Juggernaut unlock will be emailed when the game is released

I looked at my receipt when i bought it last night and got the 5 digit store number off it no problem, got the register number which is right next to store number. and the transaction number was right next to that. i just hope this works.

Game itself is pretty sweet. Graphics are way better. Gameplay is essentially the same (not a bad thing). Fusion powers are kinda cool, but some of them suck.

The Destroyer 09-17-2009 04:17 AM

For some reason I like the look of the character lineup for this less than the last game. Oh well.

Not out here for another week. :(

Extreme Angle 09-17-2009 07:46 AM

Buddies over tonight :) 4 Player Marvel Co-op and some cans

Yeah..me too.
I mean, I welcome the addition of the Thunderbolts without a doubt..but I felt like the past one had a more extensive roster for some reason. I feel like the first one is a better game to begin with. I felt like they could have done way more with this one.

Yeah, that's the general consensus on the internets.

G 09-17-2009 10:16 PM

LOL poor guy

I preordered Marvel Alliance 2 and I tried to go to the website to get my code. The website said "Page not found".

I called customer service and the rep. told me that they are out of codes and that is the reason behind the "Page not found". I find it annoying that I preorder the game to find out I am out of luck.

Not sure why activision did not place the codes inside preordered copies of the game or send the retail store codes, instead of VIP ACCESS cards to only hope you get a code.

So I going on a limb here, if anyone has a extra Juggernaut code, could you please email the code at Vladimar@rocketmail.com.

Thanks
