FTR, Santino is a great talent. his biggest problem is that the WWE gave his gimick to Koslov. that whole competition video reminded me of his OVW work.

The whole idea of his character is for him to be comedic. And the fact is, he's fucking funny. If you don't like him, stop bitching and just don't watch him. Santino is an awful example of a bad investment. Mark Henry, on the other hand, is a wonderful example.

Santino was in a bad position, rep to you screech for the video. If Santino came to WWE with his moveset added to this gimmick, He'd be fine. He's just funny now, Vladimeer Koslov is getting ME pushes with Santino's gimmick, that has to suck.

If they let him wrestle, he'd be great. I love his current character though, and don't mind him not wrestling so much.

I run the risk of "Noiding Up" here, but many of the guys that have been named really aren't/shouldn't have been such bad investments.

The Great Khali for one is a fantastic investment - especially if we are talking moneywise. He opens the Indian/Asian market up to WWE, as made by clear that a Khali loss is edited out of WWE programming shown in India.

Hell, even Bid Daddy V wasn't that bad. Granted he shouldn't have ever won KotR (that was a bad investment) but who doesn't think a 500lb, black guy is intimidating? He worked well within the Ministry and Big Daddy V gave him a new lease of life.

Zack Gowen, Colin Delaney and Santino even have their worth. Not every wrestler can be a Batista or a Cena. They offered/offer an alternative in a sideshow kinda way (well, for Gowen and Delaney).

Mark Henry on the otherhand was a bad investment based solely on the fact that he was givem a ridiculous contract.

BTW, A Khali loss is never edited in India. Besides the WWE was way too popular during the attitude era. WWE's popularity saw a decline after the departure of the Rock and Stone Cold. TNA gives some tough competition to the WWE in India.

The fact that two people hate him doesn't mean he's a bad investment. He is over with the crowd and his shirts sell (I see them everywhere). You should change "he's a bad investment" to "I just don't like him." They're two completely different things. He makes money for the company, so he's not a bad investment.

Mark Henry and Mike Adamle are two I agree with. I have nothing against either man, and I think that they cop it harsh from people, but the fact is they cost the WWE a lot of money, and they don't make any back. They are expenses that do not return revenue, or even make revenue possible. They are just wastes of money.

A lot of the talent TNA has signed have been horribly used. Rellik is actually a good talent, and the gimmick actually had legs, but TNA pretty much had him lose regularly from the start. In fact, I think I recall him winning maybe one match before he had all his heat cut out from him by becoming a glorified enhancement talent, only without any credibility to enhance someone. It's horrible execution that makes a lot of TNA's ventures horrible.

Adam "Pacman" Jones was just generally a horrible idea. So is bringing in Daffney as Palin, and not having her do any good what so ever. That may lead somewhere, though. Otherwise it is just a horrible deal. Also, bringing in Test and Rikishi as main event players without signing them to actual contracts were terrible investments.

That the WWE pays Hacksaw Jim Duggan to this day is a bit ridiculous, too.

Yeah will rellik could have been a good monster gimmick. BUt it don't help that the annoucers ever five minutes remind you thats his name is killer spelled backwardsor being in program ith Eric Young. Now the suicide gimmick. I am not even going to capitialize his name because I already know that in 5 years we are not going to be talking about how great suicide is we will be talking about how dumb it its. After watching his first entrance i couldn't stop laughing because there was no way in hell i was going to be serious about it...............

I don't get this Santino is a stereotype of Italians business people keep harping on about. Besides the accent he uses, nothing about Santino is really "Italian." If he's a stereotype of anything Italian, it'd probably be a character from old Italian street theatre. Maybe the captain who puts on a bravado, but is (not so) secretly a bumbling idiot? But that is a character the Italians created for their comedy. If anything, Italians should probably find as much amusement in the character as anyone else.

As for his DUI -- yes, Santino fucked up. No real negative publicity came of it, though, and Santino hasn't been involved in a situation then. If Santino is a bad investment because he fucked up with a substance, then surely Jeff Hardy is a bad investment, right?

Marella is much better in the ring than people give him credit for. His early work in OVW reminded people of Kurt Angle. If the WWE treated him more seriously, and gave him better opponents to work against, then he would be fairing a lot better.

Also, if the WWE regretted putting "all that money into Santino," then why do they push him so hard? Why do they keep paying more money to put out t-shirts for the guy if they don't sell?
