How....Did...The best Heel in the WWE become...
Vickie? She started as a charity case. They were throwing Eddies widow a bone.
And now she is the best heat machine I have seen not named McMahon since Bobby Heenan. How? |
She is simply the best heel I've ever seen. Her voice, her mannerisms, just everything. She reminds me of that really bitchy manager that everyone has at their first part time job out of high school. She does it even better than Stephany.
|
It's probably the god awful voice and the fact she starts every promo with "EXCUSE ME!"
|
I can't explain it. She just is. It's a phenomenon.
|
The relationship with Edge, her facials, her voice, the catchphrase catching on, just connecting with the audience
Perfect example of how simple things can be |

Like A Perfect Storm of Heat.
Seriously, anything she says.....wow... |
EXCUSE ME!
She's an awesome heel because she's "fucking" Edge, she's whiny and in charge. It's a giant hate machine of awesome. Does Hector Guerreo have a wife? TNA should try that gimmick out on her. |
she's not an awesome heel, everyone just hates her, legit

Vickie is the goods. I can't believe I just typed that, looked back at it, and didn't delete it.
|
i would so have sex with Vickie.
|
In her defense, she has lost a bit of weight recently :naughty:
|
I've noticed over the past few months how much heat she can generate. Did anyone think she'd ever become this awesome? I know I was completely against her being put on tv... well I wasn't against WWE hiring her because of what happened. I was against her being a GM.
Seriously. Vickie is awesome. |
This would definitely fall under the 'boy did we get lucky with this move' category for Vinny Mac!
|
I know a few people who have asked my "why did they hire Vickie, she is so annoying?". And I told them, thats why. She can really generate heat like no one else, its really kind of amazing.
|
Alright, but if Eddie were still alive (god rest his soul) and in Edge's shoes, could she still pull this off?
|
Not sure. Eddie isn't the manipulator Edge is.
|
Probably, Eddie was a heat magnet when he wanted to be. You ever see the silent promo he did a few years back?
|
I have never really liked her because I always felt weird about that fact that she has kind of profited from Eddie's death.
|
"Excuse me!" is brilliant

She should profit from his death. It's not like she's cashing in off it in an immoral way. It's a job, and she does it well. Eddie isn't talked about anymore for storyline purposes. It's simply Vickie and Edge, and if the things suggested get her heat then oh well.
I don't see how this job is any worse than families that lose their father in tragedy collecting proceeds and donations. There's nothing wrong with either. |
I also am of the mind that the lifelong wrestling community is of a different mindset than us. Cheap heat and storylines probably don't offend them or matter to them as much. The way I see it, if Chavo, Rey and Vickie can be okay with certain things, then who am I to disagree? It's not my family or life.
|
Fuck Rey, if it doesn't bother Chavo or Vickie, then you should be ok with it.

Even if he was clean by the end, the damage was clearly already done.
|
I understand that, and he was a bit big by the end, but I'm sure there are tons of wrestlers that still take roids/did (do) drugs, but I'm sure they, and Eddie cared about their life.
And I think he'd be happy with what Vickie was doing, better this than bumming off Chavo for a buck. |
Chavo wishes he had a buck to bum out
|
It doesn't matter whether employing Vickie was a guilt move on WWE's part, or whether Vickie accepting the job was 'cashing in' or profiting from her late husband's name and notoriety (no doubt it most certainly was) the fact remains that during the last couple of years, Vickie has actually started earning those paychecks. She does a very good job, irregardless of who her husband was or what became of him.

EXCUSE ME!!!!!!
Seriously, she's they greatest non-wrestling heel in modern history. Team her up with Hassan and there WILL be riots. We all know she got her job over he late husband's dead body, and for a while we were all okay with that. Eddie left behind a family, and the McMahons were doing the right thing and helping Vickie out. As a bland face I'm sure we were all saying "Cut her a check and get her off my tv, she's boring!" Turning her heel was the greatest thing to ever happen to her. |
The only problem I have with her is:
Yes, she is the most over heel. BUT SHE DOESN'T WRESTLE. The only person even CLOSE to her heat is Jericho. Even Edge doesn't garner as much heat. The best heat SHOULD go to a WRESTLER, but it really isn't currently, and that's pretty sad, IMO. |

Yeah, that's the ENTIRE philosophy behind heel ringside managers.

*Forgot to add the asterisk explanation: I know that Lesnar has always had more talent in one testicle than the rest of those guys combined, but without Heyman as a mouthpiece, I don't see him EVER getting over. ESPECIALLY once he spoke. |
well said.

How dare a heel get heat! What the fuck is wrong with WWE?
All of you overbearing self-righteous smarks need to go fuck off. |
Quote:
But seriously, Chavo should be either very proud or very ashamed of the heat Vickie is getting. I'd have to suggest that Vickie is more over as a heel than anyone in the company is as a face. The WWE should start selling "Fire Vickie" t-shirts. They'd make a bundle. |
EXCUSE ME!!!!!!!!!!
|
|
I have tried to hate her a lot of times but she reminds me of Eddie.
BTW, I simply hate when Chavito jobs. |
They should bring Eric Bischoff back to manage RAW. Bischoff versus Vickie could be great TV.

Seriously, though, on the topic of non-wrestling characters, I wish the WWE would re-hire Paul Heyman for some televised role. That man is an incredible performer. Also, while I can't be bothered of a suitable role for him, I wish Joey Styles would make the occasional appearance. |
Quote:
So no, he didn't value his life by getting clean. |

On topic, Vickie is amazing. She was given a job to do and she is doing it very, very well. Fucking heat machine. |
Saw the beginning of Raw and the heat she gets is nothing short of incredible. Only ever saw her on Smackdown before so figured a lot of heat was piped in but on Monday, Jesus the heat she got made Cena seem like the most popular guy in the universe, something no other heel in the last few years has been able to do.

As for Styles, a role for the best commentator over the last 15 years, tricky one that is. I actually don't think there is an on-screen role for Styles unless they allow him to call matches on his own. Don't think he works well with anyone. Barely ever saw ECW but I believe Cyrus was a decent foil for him but I don't think anyone currently in the WWE would work well with Styles. Perhaps JBL but even that's a stretch. |

But that's paints something in an unpopular light; therefore it must be cast out for soothing platitudes. |
If you look at pictures of him before he died, he was ripped. He was more ripped then than when he was a young man. How can you say he wasn't juicing? Also, he was best friends with Chris Benoit, who we know for a fact was juicing. It is safe to assume they were probably juicing up together.
|
Juice or no juice, Eddie was the man.

Fair enough.

Meh, Eddie wasn't even the man. I still think the best thing he did for his career was die. I mean now he is a legend, a hall of famer, and pretty much untouchable. He didn't have the chance to go the Kurt Angle/crazy route or tarnish his good name anymore than being a druggy could.
|
What the Fuck is JUICE?

Maybe they could have Joey Styles get his own backstage interview show? They have Jim Ross do the occasional sit-down interview, but what if Joey Styles did that? Or hosted some sort of "Styles' Superstar Spotlight" segment, where he talked about a wrestler and really put over their abilities and career? As for Paul Heyman, I honestly never dug him too much as a manager. As a commentator he was classic, and he played the evil owner so well. He'd have made a great interim General Manager of RAW while Stephanie was playing injured. |
Eddie Guerrero was about to reach new heights as a performer in 2005, I think. If you believe the rumours, he was about to win the World Heavyweight Title off Batista, because he was just too much of a fireball for the WWE to deny.
If he didn't die, I truthfully believe that eventually he would have become "the guy" in the WWE. He never even got to run on RAW as a main eventer. Imaging main event programs with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho and even John Cena just do awesome things to the mind. |

She is just cashing in on here husbands name like every other mexican does in WWE

btw... LMFAO |
Perhaps that's why Paul London was released? Not riding on Eddie Guerrero's legacy?
|
Okay. She started as a charity case. - That already pisses me off. Next, she's ugly, has annoying voice and has been on television for much longer than she necessary.
|
Some Optimist you are.

I think the only reason they haven't produced "Fire Vickie" t-shirts yet is because it would out-sell Cena's merchandise, and then the WWE would have no reason to cling so tightly to him.
