Better Wrestler #62

The Macho Man has been nearly perfect against his last couple of challengers. His challenger this round knows a thing or two about that...

3 days.

CSL 03-02-2009 02:05 AM

Mr. Perfect. There are only 2, maybe 3 people I would put above him and Savage isn't one of them.

Destor 03-02-2009 02:14 AM

This one should be good.

Tazz Dan 03-02-2009 02:28 AM

Wow. A tough one early. I think I need to go with Mr. Perfect though.

Jeritron 03-02-2009 02:34 AM

This is the 4th round

The Optimist 03-02-2009 02:56 AM

Macho was too good at everything.

Ruien 03-02-2009 05:41 AM

Macho was to good at everything.

HeartBreakMan2k 03-02-2009 05:56 AM

But Curt was Perfect at everything.

Juan 03-02-2009 07:04 AM

This is was hard for me. I really liked both guys and both were great in the ring. Because of that, I had to use professional success to "break the tie" so to speak, so in that regard, Macho wins for me.

Krimzon7 03-02-2009 08:08 AM

Curt Henning was what he said he was, 'absolutely perfect'. He was a true talent. Both are HOFers in my book, but this vote goes to the one that's in already.

The Mackem 03-02-2009 08:14 AM

Just feel Savage deserves it more.

Tazz Dan 03-02-2009 08:58 AM

lol. Really? My bad, it skipped away from me.

Triple Naitch 03-02-2009 10:32 AM

This is difficult. I was hoping Macho would just have an easy path to the HoF. I'm still going with him, though.

Innovator 03-02-2009 10:33 AM

All I think back to is Hennig bumping like a machine in the Summerslam 91 match with a fucked up back.

Perfect

Rammsteinmad 03-02-2009 02:05 PM

Mr. Perfect EASILY!

Xero 03-02-2009 02:06 PM

The perfect man to beat the Macho Man.

Good Ol JG 03-02-2009 02:23 PM

This one was so hard. Mr. Perfect has an almost perfect resume...only thing missing is a world title. Savage for me, by a very slim margin.

Nark Order 03-02-2009 02:41 PM

I cannot accept anything other than a Macho Man win here. It's very close for me as I think both are in my top 5 but Macho is probably closer to #1 for me. Macho takes it.

Xero 03-02-2009 02:42 PM

Define "probably".

Clearly you're undecided and your vote is invalid. So the final vote will be Perfect vs Savage - 1.

Nark Order 03-02-2009 02:48 PM

I will have no faith in humanity if Macho Man does not make it to the HOF.

BigDaddyCool 03-02-2009 02:56 PM

I went with Savage because I'm more familiar with Savage, and he has "it." Henning is good on all levels, but Savage just has the little extra whatever it is that makes him a shining star.

Also Savage is the quintessential wrestler.

BigDaddyCool 03-02-2009 02:59 PM

Also, ask anyone who hates wrestling or doesn't watch it. Ask them to describle a wrestler, I will bet you they discribe Savage.

Kane86 03-02-2009 03:09 PM

Mr. Perfect is the way better wrestler. The Macho Man is jsut few goofy phrases and so on while Mr. Perfect is jsut well plain PERFECT.

Xero 03-02-2009 03:39 PM

We're talking "better wrestler" here, remember? Not "better on the mic" or "better in the storylines". Perfect beats Savage out by miles.

Don't you know anything?

BigDaddyCool 03-02-2009 03:44 PM

Savage is a good wrestler/was a good wrestler, and he was a complete package if there ever was one.

Xero 03-02-2009 03:49 PM

I agree Savage was great, but he's no Mr. Perfect in the ring.

BigDaddyCool 03-02-2009 03:55 PM

Mr. Perfect is dead, and Savage is not. Savage > Hennig.

Nark Order 03-02-2009 03:58 PM

I think people use Hennig's gimmick as a way to describe him too much. He was really good. Really god damn good but he wasn't perfect and he wasn't the best at what he did when compared to others IMO. I can think of more than a handful of guys that I would put over Perfect. He's up there but his personal demons weighed him down alot and prevented him from achieving what alot of guys did (not talking about storylines here).

Savage was everything you could ever want in a performer. He didn't need written vignettes to get over. You stick him in the ring, he gets over. You put the stick in his hand, he gets over. He was good at everything he did and anybody that had a match with him said the same things. Hogan said he was the biggest perfectionist he had ever worked with. DDP said that he doesn't feel that he had even wrestled a real match until he started wrestling Savage. I mean for god's sake, he pulled a 4 star match out of Warrior. There are VERY few people that I would put over Savage. I even have trouble saying that Flair was a better performer than Savage (although I do think they are of the same calibur). Bottom Line: Vince likes to downplay the role that Savage played but Randy Savage is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time.

thedamndest 03-02-2009 04:04 PM

Savage has the best opening grapple in the business. Look at the intensity in which he grabs a man. That is why he snaps into Slim Jims and Lex Luger shoots up IcoPro.

Supreme Olajuwon 03-02-2009 04:11 PM

Savage's overly-telegraphed top rope double axe handle always bugged me, and that's really the only flaw I can find with either of them, so I'll say Mr. Perfect.

BigDaddyCool 03-02-2009 04:29 PM

Also, how many wrestles say they wanted to emulate Savage? All of them.

lol, that's too bold of a statement to make in this competition, where there have been many joke/ridiculous results

Nicky Fives 03-02-2009 06:59 PM

tough call.... I go with Perfect.... not too many that were better than him taking all aspects of wrestling into consideration

Now I love Mr. Perfect, and this is definately a very tough call between these two, but Narcissus sums it all up perfectly, you gotta go with the Macho Man here.

DIG IT!!! :y:

Kane86 03-02-2009 07:06 PM

PERFECTION!

Triple Naitch 03-02-2009 09:16 PM

If Mr. Perfect was so perfect, then he would have never lost a match. :shifty:

Supreme Olajuwon 03-02-2009 09:30 PM

"then he would have never had lost"

perfect

Mercury Bullet 03-03-2009 12:12 AM

Mr. Perfect based solely on personal mark-ism.

Fabien Barthez 03-03-2009 12:44 AM

It is pretty hard this one.

I think Hennig has the edge as a worker, but savage has the edge in overall career success. With that it boils down to pre-New York and mic work for me.

I loved curt in AWA. there are a lot of matches from then of his on Youtube if you search enough. They really are great, and he was even better in the ring back then. Savage in Memphis was good, but not as good as he bacame,

And as for the stick, Savage just always sounded like he was on speedballs or something. He has had his moments of great promo's, but often they could have done more to push an angle with some real belivable hate. Hennig's work as a commentator (which Savage was awful at) was always entertaining, he was the reason I used to watch Prime Time Wrestling, and his stuff with Flair and Heenan before WM8 were some of my favourite promos of all time.

I vote, the Berzerker.

Juan 03-03-2009 12:46 AM

We got a tie! Hot match so far

Kane86 03-03-2009 01:34 AM

Yes it is but we all know who is better. Mr Perfect

thedamndest 03-03-2009 01:37 AM

Strawman, are you sure you're a registered voter?

Kane86 03-03-2009 03:00 PM

Look the next person who doesn't vote for Mr. Perfect ia m going to to kick them in the fucking nuts. Because thats what you get for not seeing things my way. Bitch

Nark Order 03-03-2009 04:02 PM

Wow, this is really going to happen? Mr. Perfect is going to beat Randy Fucking Savage?

CSL 03-03-2009 04:04 PM

Tazz beat Triple H, The Rock beat Shawn Michaels, both worse results than this. You seem to forget that Curt Hennig is one of those guys great enough that he can have 'Fuckin' inserted into the middle of his name too

St. Jimmy 03-03-2009 04:06 PM

MR........ PERFECT.

PERFECT.

Nark Order 03-03-2009 04:07 PM

Maybe Randy would win if he was dead.

CSL 03-03-2009 04:23 PM

Nah. One of his main appeals is the fact that he is batshit crazy

Nark Order 03-03-2009 04:30 PM

That is true.

Kane86 03-03-2009 04:32 PM

It would not matter if he was dead. Mr. Perfect is hands down the better wrestler

Nark Order 03-03-2009 04:54 PM

HA! Alright...

The Optimist 03-03-2009 11:49 PM

It basically just ends up being luck, to be honest. Perfect never got to the top of the mountain so he doesn't have all the epic epic shit that Savage had. If they both had equal oppurtunity, Perfect would take it I think. But they don't, so Macho is better.

Oxstar 03-04-2009 12:32 AM

Two of my all time favorite wrestlers, i really couldn't choose 1 over the other

Better Than You 03-04-2009 07:43 AM

Hennig hates rap. Savage released a rap album. Hennig is easily the supirior man.

Supreme Olajuwon 03-04-2009 12:03 PM

In addition to being a better wrestler than Savage, Mr. Perfect was also far superior as a color commentator. Perfect was a great heel commentator in the classic Ventura mold while Savage just sputtered shit incoherently while taking away mic time from Bobby Heenan.

Nark Order 03-04-2009 02:19 PM

lol ridiculous

Droford 03-04-2009 03:47 PM

I had to vote for Macho but it was close.

Jeritron 03-04-2009 04:14 PM

Gonna have IP checks ran

Anybody Thrilla 03-05-2009 02:02 PM

What the fuck? How is this poll closed already????

I HAVE TO VOTE FOR THE MACHO MAN!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe this. Shame on you, TPWW. Fucking shame.

Jeritron 03-05-2009 07:49 PM

Voters: 69.

hehe

Xero 03-05-2009 07:50 PM

I'd call that a Perfect Win.

Xero 03-05-2009 07:50 PM

Can't wait for Narc's rant.

Jeritron 03-05-2009 07:52 PM

Define perfect

Xero 03-05-2009 07:53 PM

13a. applied to the consonances of unison, octave, and fifth, as distinguished from those of the third and sixth, which are called imperfect.

Nark Order 03-05-2009 08:24 PM

lol, I like how I've morphed into some maga heel on TPWW for some reason now. Perfect shouldn't have beat Macho by any stretch of the imagination but whatever, not the first time this has happened. Should've expected it. Oh well.

Xero 03-05-2009 08:31 PM

You still haven't defined wrestler, buddy.

Nark Order 03-05-2009 08:32 PM

The Macho Man Randy Savage is the definition of wrestler. There. Now stop bothering me, fly.

Xero 03-05-2009 08:36 PM

Crazy Santa Claus = Wrestler?

Holy shit.

Theo Dious 03-05-2009 10:17 PM

I demand that Mr Pefect's next opponent on his way to the HOF should be none other than "Leaping" Lanny Poffo,
the World's Smartest Man, the Genius!

To qualify my opinion, I submit this: the Genius owns a win over Hulk Hogan... if Savage can even claim that, I'm pretty sure you have to look to WCW for it.

The Mackem 03-06-2009 06:05 AM

These do throw up some interesting results.

Jeritron 03-06-2009 06:17 PM

I'll get around to the next one before the weekends up. I'm too lazy to brainstorm right now

If you really want to go by current status to judge these two guys, you should probably remember that Curt Hennig is fertilizer by now.

CSL 03-07-2009 02:47 PM

The Perfect Fertilizer however. That shit will grow trees in days

Nark Order 03-07-2009 03:30 PM

You all understand that being perfect was a gimmick, right?

It's still real to me, damnit?

That takes ALL promos and angles out of the equation and leaves only in-ring work. And Perfect wins.

Nark Order 03-07-2009 04:50 PM

IYO. There is nothing you could say to me or show me that could convince me that Perfect in his prime was a better ring worker than Savage in his prime.
