Mark Henry is growing on me

I used to cringe whenever 3 6 Mafia told me that somebody was gon' get they wig split, but as of late, he hasn't really been bothering me so much. Sure he's not a Master of Mobility, and he's extremely limited due to his size, but there's just something completely believeable about him beating the shit out of somebody. He's not even bad on the mic, really, and his reactions are great. For example, I loved the look on his face this past ECW when Santino was ripping on his physique. I am interested to see how they use him in Money in the Bank.

Anybody with me on this one?

Fox 03-05-2009 02:42 PM

His splitting of wigs amuses me.

...no, it doesn't.

BigDaddyCool 03-05-2009 02:46 PM

I like Henry. He has look to him that says don't fuck with me. And he is the prefect hoss for ECW. No one can match up to his power, so he is the big dog. Sure he is no matt techincian, like say a Ian Rotten, but he really doesn't need to be.

Anybody Thrilla 03-05-2009 03:03 PM

Ian Rotten

I think sometimes I forget that he used to entertain me a bit back in the day when he had that crush on Chyna. Also, he defeated The Rock on PPV once. That's pretty impressive.

Fignuts 03-05-2009 03:12 PM

Always been a henry mark.

GD 03-05-2009 03:17 PM

I am looking forward for to a Huge Mark Henry Splash from the top of the ladder at Wrestlemania.

I hope you have a strong back. And a good chiropractor.

mike adamle 03-05-2009 05:02 PM

No.

Hornicane 03-05-2009 07:07 PM

Having Henry in the MITB has the potential to be epic, hilarious, and/or both.

Jeritron 03-05-2009 07:15 PM

To be honest, yes.

thedamndest 03-05-2009 07:23 PM

I won't go so far as to say he's grown on me, but I will say that he's felt less forced since the move to ECW and with Tony Atlas.

Ruien 03-05-2009 07:25 PM

Does he bother me? Nope.
Does he entertain me? Somewhat.
Do I want him anywhere near the main event (Besides ECW)? Nope.

Jeritron 03-05-2009 07:30 PM

I can pinpoint the moment where Mark Henry made the turn. I couldn't stand him being on my tv for years, but he became enjoyable to me in a comedic way during the live edition of the dirtsheet.
He responded to the comments of Matt Hardy (being portrayed as a still frame with a mouth replacement a la Conan O'Brien) as if they were real.

Ever since then, I guess I've tolerated him in a joke capacity.

Someone's gon get their ass kicked. Someone's gon get their wig split

Juan 03-05-2009 08:22 PM

I never need bod', how could I be scared of a man?
I walk through this land like I run this land
Never can you imagine the pain that I bring
If I said I'm do it in the streets it's the same
It's the K-I-N, G in here
Wildest man in the world and I have no fear
I'm the mean in the mean, the nightmare dream
The root of all evil, the weak fear me, yeah!

Nark Order 03-05-2009 08:30 PM

Mark Henry seems to just be growing in general.

OMAR DAYS 03-05-2009 09:04 PM

I haven't found Henry to be awful for a while now. He's got an awesome theme going for him, plus he has TONY ATLAS by his side.

BA-ZING

Mr. Nerfect 03-05-2009 09:30 PM

I've always felt that Henry got way too much shit. The man hasn't been horrible for a few years now, and he's obviously got a passion for what he does. He's also reportedly a very nice guy. That being said, I'm not too fussed on the man. He's got credibility now, with a Hall of Famer talking about carrying his bags, and an ECW Title reign behind him, but I just don't feel compelled to want to see him anywhere near the main event.

I feel no malice towards Mark Henry, but there are far better choices for an ECW main eventer than him.

Anybody else notice that the's smiling and laughing alot in the video?

World's Strongest Gigglebox? :shifty:

Juan 03-05-2009 09:35 PM

Wig splitting is fun, that's all.

Theo Dious 03-05-2009 09:54 PM

Henry was a lot better back in the NOD days. When he looked like a human being and not a partially shaved ape.

Somebody get me the video clip where Jericho asked him if he'd "doused himself in ass."

Theo Dious 03-05-2009 09:55 PM

Anyways, he's been decent since he went to ECW, and should never ever leave there.

He's gotta be a friendlier, more goofy Wig-Splitter with that WWE Kids logo in the corner.

HE BANG YO' HEAD, DAWG.
'TILL YO HEAD LIKE EGG-NAWG.

Funky Fly 03-06-2009 03:00 AM

He is teh horrible.

The Fonz 03-06-2009 09:21 AM

He'll leave you red dawg.

Rammsteinmad 03-06-2009 10:22 AM

I never thought I'd see the day someone made a thread titled "Mark Henry is growing on me". :nono:

Mooияakeя™ 03-06-2009 01:22 PM

Imagine how über something must be if it was the other way around and something was growing on Mark Henry? Shit, that'd be some heavy stuff. (lol puns.)

It could be like that segment of Creepshow with Stephen King. He could finally cash in that big money gimmick of.....

MOSS-MAN HENRY.

Mooияakeя™ 03-07-2009 02:37 PM

lolz. If Robocop can make a Wrestling appearance, that can above. Boogey mans new persona in TNA?

Anybody Thrilla 03-07-2009 02:45 PM

The Boogeyman actually owns the right to his gimmick, so you'd see the exact same ridiculous person in TNA should he go there.

Either way, Henry is much better than The Boogeyman.

Mooияakeя™ 03-07-2009 02:47 PM

Oh shit, if that's indeed right, worms are no longer sleeping better. In fact, they're worried.

The Optimist 03-07-2009 09:55 PM

No.

Kozlov, I like. And I used to hate. Actually, the same thing happened with Umaga.

Krimzon7 03-08-2009 12:45 PM

Now I love Umaga! He's great in his gimick.

screech 03-08-2009 08:45 PM

I've never been a fan of Henry, but his run on ECW is tolerable. He is better being a hoss on Tuesdays than being pushed as a legitimate main-eventer on Mondays or Fridays. As long as he stays on ECW and has Tony Atlas dress up like a reindeer every Christmas, I will be less angered by his presence.

Krimzon7 03-08-2009 08:48 PM

I'm actually hating Tony Atlas. Mark shoulda served as MVP's muscle.

Juan 03-08-2009 08:51 PM

Hate him? He's practically invisible.

311 03-08-2009 08:53 PM

I honestly don't think he's worth the risk of putting in the ring with any superstar you have ANY plans with in the future.

The guy an injury machine.

Xero 03-08-2009 09:11 PM

He seems to have stopped injuring people but is gaining weight.

One vice for another I suppose.

Krimzon7 03-08-2009 09:11 PM

Eating careers or eating sandwiches...

Anybody Thrilla 03-08-2009 10:05 PM

Who was the last person he injured in the ring?

thedamndest 03-08-2009 10:19 PM

Not counting the viewers at home?

Juan 03-08-2009 10:20 PM

ZING!

Anybody Thrilla 03-08-2009 10:22 PM

Right. Not counting them.
