Best Cartoon Villain
This is mostly from the more action oriented cartoons from my youth.
Who do you think is the best villain? |
i will always have a weak spot for mumm-ra the ever-living
Roger Klotz
Yea, you're gonna catch shit from some for ommitting Megatron
d'oh! I knew I was forgetting someone.
Angelica Pickles
Also no love for Elmer or Yosemite.
Charles Montgomery Burns
Fuck Megatron. How can you forget StarScream? I mean his name alone, is the most badass name ever invented. Try and think of a name more badass than Starscream. Just try.
YOU FUCKING CAN'T. |
...
You know those ideas that seemed great in your head until you actually put them down into writing. I'm not saying this is one of them, but the lack of putting out thought resulted in this idea being fail. :-( |
Take this back to the drawing board. It's not a lost cause
that's a strong cast there.
Skeletor, Mum-Ra, Cobra Commander, Megatron, Shredder, Gargamel, Who are the other three (I know one of them is from She-Ra) |
Bet they all fucked eachother after the pic was taken.
In the ass.
Cause they are all dudes.

I think Scar is probably #1 on my list. There are a lot of great choices but how do you beat that? Not too many cartoon villains have regicide on their list of accomplishments.
MO JO JO JO!!!! Hell yeah! Seriously My vote woulda went to Megatron if he was there. Since he is not, I will align myself wit Cobra Commander. HE was the shit!

Somehow, a thread with a botched poll got saved by great pics of animated villainry.
I am humbled (but not in the Iron Shiek way). |

Great show all around. |

Sure, he sucks now, but he was an evil son of a bitch in the 90s cartoon. |
Marked out through this whole thread.

Either way, he was a damn good villain on the animated series. I wouldn't call him the best though, since he shared the spotlight from episode to episode with the rest of the rogues gallery. That's my take on it though. Def a valid opinion on your part. |
Look at those choppers.
Yeah, I thought we were talking Cartoons, not Comics, slightly different formats. And all the cartoon verisions of Joker are kinda tame.
Compared to the comics and movies yeah, he's not as just flat out shock-value twisted, but the Animated-Series Joker was still a hell of a lot of fun. Plus, the cartoon Joker gave us Harley Quinn, and was voiced by Luke Goddamn Skywalker.

I have no idea how the Batman: The Animated Series Joker is tame. He's the perfect mix of psychopath and clown.
Yeah, and you ever seen Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker?
This bit in particular is animated Joker at his most awesomest.

His laugh was the best. Something that you can't quite appreciate as much in the comics.
Hmmm, watching that reminded me how Tim Drake's costume was different in the animated series. Though they actually changed his costume in the comics, and now he looks like his animated counterpart.
The Animated Series elevated Mr. Freeze as a villain. Big time.
No kidding. He was crap before they re-introduced him
I thought the stuff they did with Clayface was great too. They made it seem like a big deal. The whole show was epic, but they really hyped it up and portrayed it as the biggest thing in the animated Gotham world.
Just realized Ron Perlman voiced him. I had heard that but forgot. Lucius Fox is in those episodes too.
Megatron is a really good choice. I loved the way he seemed so effortlessly evil. At times, it almost seemed like he understood heroism, had considered it, looked at its implications and the philosophies behind it, but then rejected it as idiocy. That line he mutters when he blows away Ironhide, who is already a goner, but is doing everything he can to prevent Megatron from invading Autobot City -- "Such heroic nonsense." It tells so much about the character.
Also, you never got the real sense that Megatron was a coward, or a fool. He was a bad-ass and he knew it. Sometimes he played things smarter, but the man was a great conquerer. And the way he used to be like eight steps ahead of Starscream and his ambition. "Megatron, we should do this and that and this and then that," "You're an idiot, Starscream." When Megatron became Galvatron in the animated movie, he was a bad-ass, as well. I never liked him in the next series, but when Starscream asks "Megatron, is that you?" And Galvatron goes "Here's a hint." Pure bad-ass. Since they are technically the same robotic spark, I'd consider them the same character. Fantastic. |
Sideshow Bob is a good one, too. The eloquence and likeable human traits in the character never got in the way of him being a complete psychopath.
