Seriously, this is fucking awesome. Any word on an offical US release or will it only be Japan?
Edit: Just realized it's download only. There's really no reason not to bring it to the US. |
It's download only, so no amount of modding your 360 will play it...
HOWEVER, what will let you play it is creating a Japanese XBox Live account and then getting a Japanese MS points card or a Japanese credit card registered to a JAP address. That work around will be the only way to play it if it only comes out in Japan on both 360 and PS3 :( |
YO MIKE YOU MISSED THIS
If you guys haven't been following the thread in Victory Road, then you're probably clueless about this whole thing. Be sure to read the entire post. Read it slowly. This is all the information I have right now, and we may be getting more soon. Famitsu should be getting some media near the end of the month, but I'm not completely sure yet. That's way too much fucking effort for a single download.
From the forum about HD:
And the game is Japanese only. No plans for an English release. We need to support them just like we always have. A lot of us have been importing these games for a decade now. We're not going to stop. Some of you guys got spoiled with Fire Pro Returns. They're giving us an ENGLISH OPTION for Hansen sake. We should run with it and give them our money. At least there's an English option by default :( |

Yeah, been reading the forum.
Really, if they went to the length of doing the US translation there has to be plans, at least internally, to release it in either Europe or the US. The fact that it's download-only must have come up, and doing the English translation just for Japan seems silly. It almost seems like they're saying "it's in English, but you can't get it. You can pirate it, though." |
Dude, I like Fire Pro and all, but fuck getting a Jap gold account and importing Jap MS points for a single game. I'll wait for a US release. They brought Fire Pro R over, so no reason for them not to bring this over this on Live. I understand with PSN because they get charged up the ass for space on their servers, but Live is free for developers.
Fucking hell, topic is too hot. Can't keep up here.

Still, I'm so happy so rep for all just for being part of my joy :D
However I will neg everyone to make up for it if it's announced that it's being taken over by Yukes for Legends of Wrestlemania 2D Arcade :shifty:
Gawwwwwd. Don't say things like that.
Actually, this just reminded me of the fact that 360s are region free. Any word on that wrestling series that AKI made post No Mercy coming to the 360. I'd definitely import that sumbitch.
I am happy for you all.
Quote:
That's it. They've now been renamed Syn Sophia and were responsible for that god-awful Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Revolution on Wii :( |
No, not that one. There was a game that used the AKI engine in Japan and it had real wrestlers I think. Fignuts or Blitz should know it for sure.
Quote:
On the same subject, any word on the "rebuilt" game engine? I mean, what it entails? |
Dunno, it was on PS2 and I never played it
YES!!! Also, PS3 is region free too, and you can easily set up a Japanese PSN account to download Japanese stuff. Granted I haven't used my credit card on it, it shouldn't be an issue as my credit card works in foreign countries.
Unfortunatly, after the Tekken DR fiasco (with loads of people just creating Japanese PSN accounts to get the game early, then continuing to do so as the game was about $5 cheaper in Japan), Sony require the billing address to be in Japan to download Japanese stuff.
Can you get currency cards for PSN? |
Eh, worst case scenario, I know peeps in Japan.
Fucking Japs.
You can blindfold those people with fucking dental floss. |
When this comes to America and the visuals look tight enough, we'll have a winner.
All that bad stuff I said about the series being 2D will go out the window with an online-enabled edit-whore of a game like this coming around. Seems like a packed download only game. |
I only skimmed through this whole thing...
Landmines? Exploding cage? Edit ref? Match maker? Sure, why not? Whats SWA though? |
Quote:
Amazing game, but it doesn't compare to Firepro R, or KOC II. |
Also, I am verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy skeptical about this.
Especially given the time of year. |
I'm not too concerned. It's been ages since the last fire pro came out, and next gen systems have been out a bit too. I don't see why they'd dramatically change the engine, especially since they want to keep their main base happy, as that's where it's going to sell.
I mean seriously, a new fire pro game announced shortly before april 1st, that just HAPPENS to have a ton of stuff people on the fpc boards have wanted for years?
Nah. Not buying it just yet. |
Honestly, my biggest suspicion is the English translation coupled with it being Download-only in Japan.
If it's true, awesome, but yeah, this could easily be a fake. |
I trust SonnyBone.
Dunno, could def see sonnybone pulling this shit as a prank
Quote:
lol won't be a 3.
Why the fuck not?
dude vpw2 was for the n64. AKI hasn't been involved with puroresu games in over decade.
Fuck.
Oh, I thought you meant wrestling games after No Mercy. Yeah, VPW was the shit.
The engine tweak might be to compensate for HD. Haven't most of you guys experienced timing problems playing FPR?
Yeah, but wouldn't that be more of a technical tweak, than a "rebuilt engine"?
Doesn't matter anyway, cause this is all gobbledy gook. |
Yeah, the more I think about this, the more it seems like a bad April Fools joke.
Well I still have Fire Pro Returns and still playing it some.
No one at FPC seems worried about the PS3 address problem thingy. Could that just be with specific games? So far the general consensus is, if you make a jap PSN account, and get a Jap Network Points card from playasia, or ebay, then you are golden.
Yeah, that's cool. The only way you'd need a Jap address is if you wanted to use a credit card.
Quote:
Yeah, doing the same thing. JAP XBLA account, JAP points card, golden.
How would one go about getting a JAP account?

Creating your own Japanese Xbox Live Silver Account

1) Head on over to Microsoft's passport Web site (if you're logged in to a current account, make sure to sign out). Sign up for a new, free Hotmail account. 2) When asked, remember to answer that you're from Japan -- don't worry, you dirty liar, we won't judge you. 3) The next part, which would be the "trickiest," is entering some additional information about where you are from. You'll have to enter bogus information. The following should work fine (the phone number is for a Domino's Pizza near Akebonobashi Station in Tokyo): Postal code: 150-23454) Once you've activated your new Hotmai account, it's time to head on over to your Xbox 360. Switch profiles if necessary (the X button) and create a new profile, and a new Xbox Live account. 5) You'll next have to sign in with your new Japanese passport. Keep the number for Domino's Pizza Akebonobashi handy, because you're going to need to enter it again. Also, you might get hungry. 6) Create a gamertag and ... that's it! Anything downloaded off of the Japanese marketplace can be played using accounts from other regions. Enjoy yourself, and save me a slice of pizza if you decide to order any. |
nice
September is still a long ways off tho.
Quote:

fyi googleing this only gets other gaming message board posts about this. No actual news media has said anything about this.
None of you should be getting excited until April 1st has passed without incident. |
Meh, if it's fake, the fallout at that forum should at least be entertaining :D
It seems like all the regulars wither take his word for gospel, or they're all in on it.... They're a little too assured so either they've been shown something, or they're in on the joke.
Thregulars are all pretty tight on there, stima/tripleA/samichna/morcheeba style, so them believing him actually makes it look more fake.
Quote:
Or am I wrong? |
Famitsu is supposedmto have a feature on it this week so we'll see...
Yeah, for the record destor, the only reason I am so adamant about this, is so my own hopes don't get up, because I will be crushed if it is a hoax. The timing of the announcement is just too close to april 1st for me to believe it 100%.
It's a hoax.
Reaction at Fireproclub.com is hilarious though. |
LOL, that woulda just dragged on until he thought up a reasonable response. His board would have gone apeshit if he just said April Fools after the build up. Rookie mistake.

Sucks, good call Figgy.

Wasn't it a bit early for an April Fools joke?
LOL. I'm disappointed, but looking at its community, I'm not sure I like what Fire Pro does to people.
Indigo wrote:Also, this will sound VERY lame, but we should focus on what we have in our lives (loved ones, homes, etc.) It sounds lame, but it does help put things in perspective, and removes much of the sting (for me, anyhow). Wow. |
ROFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl
LOL, the internet is full of weirdos.
This games controls always fucked me up I could never figure anything out. But out of all the wrestling games I have played this one has the best gimmick matches.
BRB, gonna stick my head in the microwave. Think 5 minutes is good enough to cook a human head?

Also, hopefully this will make all the new posters who are all so easily butt hurt leave the FPC. That one comment about FPC turning into gamefaqs was dead on. But that was because of the domestic release of firepro r, and the flood of new posters from that very site. Before that, FPC had it's own unique charm to it, not unlike tpww. It was a fun place to post at. Now it's garbage. |
