|
Actually looks pretty good.
|
lol tremendous

Might be the greatest trailer ever. This is my most anticipated movie to see of the summer.

"How do you defend yourself against a man with a dildo"?
|
Can't wait for this.
|
Amazing

I never liked Ali G back when everyone at school got into him, but the man is really quite clever. Borat was pretty funny, and this looks to be heading in the right direction, too.
|
That is such a Samantha thing to say.
|
this doesnt look funny at all
|
Bruno
Saw it yesterday, more daring and 'shocking' than Borat but not as funny
A few amazing moments in it, mainly his camping trip and his pilot for a chat show, overall though it feels more forced than Borat 7.5/10 |
I wasn't a big fan of this movie. Looking at Borat, I feel it was way better than Da Ali G Show skits with Borat for the most part. But Bruno wasn't close to the level of skits from Ali G Show. Was just a let down. I mean I laughed and enjoyed myself, but it was weak.
|
Looks like the stupidest thing ever. Is he really a faggot or just some dude playing a character?
|
Cohen doesn't make me laugh.
|
Borat was easily one of the funniest movies of all time.
Bruno looks like something I might wait til DVD for... |
It was all right. Some funny/interesting cameos at the end.
|
I often ignite huge rows when I say that I never found Borat (the film or the character more generally) HUGELY funny, I mean he makes me lolz from time to time, but he's not amazing or anything as a character.

Pretty much what deathtrap said. Still really liked it though.
Best part was easily the pilot for his show |
I think my favorite part was the dreadful things those parents would do to their kids in order for them to get a part in the photo shoot.
|
lol oh yeah. Incredible. Forgot about that part for some reason
|
Yeah, not as good as Borat but still pretty funny.
That long silence during one of the camping trip scenes was seriously the most awkward moment ever. |
Looks like it'd be good, but like people said: Borat kinda set the bar high for me. Going to see it tomorrow. Not expecting it to be as good, but still funny nonetheless.

Bruno is played by Sacha Baron Cohen, same guy who played Borat. He's married to the lovely Isla Fisher

Good lord. lol can't tell that Bruno is a character and can't tell that Morgan Webb is ugly as fuck.
|
Diesel Mac, that's borat.
|
We've been shwarza-listed!

He's just playing a stupid redneck to get a rise out of us. |
lol Diesel, when you watch wrestling do your parents have to sit you down and explain that Chris Jericho isn't a asshole in real life, it's just a character he plays on t.v? I think I had that conversation when I was like 4.
|
How did they set up an interview with a leader of a terrorist organization? And who was he? I didn't get to read the title.
I would assume that was the hardest part for Sascha Baron Cohen to play. |
He explained it on Letterman. Apparently, the Terrorist Orgnaization was a fan of the Ali G show and let him do it. The guy was legit according to SBC.
|
Surprised 'Ol Gertner is going to see Bruno since its based on a character who's gay
:p Inside Joke there people |
SBC still has the common sense to realize what a huge disappointment he'd be if he were really one.

He was only good as ali g.

Must be that insane gay humour.

I was thinking, and I think the film is a bit of a letdown because it changes the character of the show a lot. Borat was essentially the exact same person on TV as he was in the film, whereas Bruno is quite different. He's also pretty unlikable, so you don't really feel anything for him.
Having said that, if Bruno came before Borat it'd have a lot more praise I think, it's still a great film. The scene where Paula Abdul boasts about humanitarian work whilst sat on a Mexican is good |
^my favorite part right there
|

Orton is. |
The only way I will see any of this movie is by accident - the same way I saw a few minutes of Borat while waiting for Burn Notice to come on.
|
I wouldn't watch this shit if you paid me.

I went in with my expectations pretty low after hearing some of the negative reviews and really enjoyed myself. Obv not as good as Borat, it really couldn't be, but still funnier than 99% of comedies that come out.
|
Diesel Mac you are basically half of the people being made fun of this movie so you would definitely hate it
|
I dunno, not really stoked to see this at all. I thought Borat was funny, but not really my type of humour I guess. Might see it if a bunch of friends drag me to, type thing.

You mean normal people?

Diesel is too high class to lower hinself to that kind of humour.

Damn Straight :shifty:
|
Just saw it last night. Nowhere near as funny as Borat, but still had his moments.
The part at the end of the MMA event where they show the one guy crying made me lol. Bruno also trying to make a sex tape with Ron Paul was also classic. "I couldn't even film a sex tape with Ru Paul." |
Fag :p
|
Everyone is comparing Bruno to Borat so I will do the same. I found Borat funnier, but I found the presentation of Bruno to be a little more crisp. Borat is just a funnier character. Everyone loves clueless foreigners. There's a reason why Balki Bartokomous is a household name.
Overall the movie was great. And yes, the best part of the movie was his pilot. It would be awesome if they had the "full" half an hour pilot on the dvd. |
Definately found Borat better. I thought this movie was funny and had great parts, but it really felt forced. I probably will never watch Bruno again but it was definately funnier than a lot of comedies out there.
|
Compared to Borat, it does not have the same novelty effect, but I still laughed a lot, and it is very good overall.
|
watched part of it the other night on Justin tv and found it really wasn't that funny compared to Borat
it had its moments tho |
I just rewatched his movie the other day. This movie is hilarious but I had to fast forward through some parts. The peoples reactions at the TV show focus group was great, and him trying to seduce republican Ron Paul (and calling him Ru Paul) was priceless when Ron started FREAKING out
