I one time helped size Taz's son for a mit at work about 2 or 3 years ago. I don't have any pics though.

Dorkchop 04-29-2009 12:05 AM

I met Hardcore Holly (ugh), Lita, Edge (twice) and Val Venis all through autograph signings. All except for one Edge meeting were done for day one ticket sales. The second Edge meeting was

I've met some very very very indie wrestlers because I sometimes help out a local indie fed. I might talk to Sonjay Butt on Saturday through this same fed, but I'll probably just say hi, introduce myself, and then let him go do his thing.

Xero 04-29-2009 12:07 AM

I met Edge once. He stole my girlfriend and I posted it on... the... interne-... Nevermind... :$

Juan 04-29-2009 12:09 AM

I've met Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Rey Mysterio Jr, Steve Austin, Mankind, Legion of Doom, D-Von Dudley, Maven, Rico, Greg Valentine, Jerry Lawler and Mickie James.

LuigiD 04-29-2009 12:09 AM

I met Raven, Disco Inferno(lol), Chris Jericho, Jake Roberts and Piper at signings.
I met Edge two times.
First time I saw Edge was at a wal-mart when I was a kid. How ironic was it that I was wearing an Edge shirt!
saw Edge at a shopping mall near my house and I saw Eddie at Sports Authority. Nice guys they both actually talked.

Oh yeah and Taz was with him.

KYR 04-29-2009 12:49 AM

I met HBK and HHH (K4L :shifty: ) at an autograph signing on a RAW tour here a couple of years ago.

HBK surprised me as he is a lot 'bigger' IRL than he appears on TV.

Don't have pics so I'll just GTFO now.

RGWhat316 04-29-2009 01:14 AM

Since this is a post your pics thread, I pulled some from my myspace page. I have also met Matt Hardy, Edge, Gail Kim, Christy Hemme, and Booker, but no pics with them. These are also in chronological order.

my friend with edge and chavo at midday madness WM 24

Fignuts 04-29-2009 03:20 AM

No pics, but I've met CIMA, Shingo Takagi, Edge, Ric Flair, Christian, Big Show, Kevin Nash, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Trish, Goldberg, and J.R.

J.R. was the fucking man. He took a few seconds to talk to everyone who came up. Nothing long, jst a moment or two. When I got up there, This guy comes over to J.R., and says"you need to hurry it up". J.R. spins right around and snaps "I'll take as uch damn time as I want. All these people came out to see me."

Thought that was really cool.

taker707 04-29-2009 03:35 AM

When i was at the signing at the midday maddness session Edge got up in the middle of it and left as he was leaving Victoria blurts out oh poor baby has to go potty . The whole room burst out laughing . When he came back in Every one including Victoria Beth, Chavo , Lillan and Snitsky Started a Christian Cage and TNA chant . So edge yelled out hes my best friend Dammit. It was fun . Just have the three pics i posted earlier . i dont know how to scan a polaroid on to my computer

No pics, but when the WWE came to Sheffield back at the end of 2003/beginning 2004, I was working in a shoe store in Meadowhall (Sheffield's shopping mall). I looked up and saw a guy that looked like Orlando Jordan walking through the door....it was Orlando, and with him was an unmasked Rey Rey.

Orlando was pretty cool and asked if we had a red Adidas boxing boot in a size 14 (!)...he was a lot taller than on TV. Rey seemed upset that somebody had recognised him...I think they both thought they wouldn't get recognised if they went shopping in the mall in the UK.

Fabien Barthez 04-29-2009 04:43 AM

Weird. I live in Sheffield, and last November when the SS revenge tour was on, I saw Kane and Jamie Noble queueing for coffee in Starbuck near Ponds Forge. I was with a girl at the time, so I wasn't really up for going and shaking hands with some wrestlers, but I nonchelantly whistled a few bars of the Kane theme, and he turned round with a very curious look on his face.

Not so much of a meeting, but it made me chuckle.

I'll try and scan some pics of wrestlers I met at Wrestlemania this year. Didn't have my camera on me, so my friend took the pictures and got them developed for me, so it'll have to be a scan job later.

Rob 04-29-2009 06:48 AM

I'm forgetting a bunch but I've met The Rock, Bill Goldberg, Stacey Keibler, Mick Foley, David Flair, DDP, Brian Christopher, Norman Smiley, Gerald Brisco, Chris Daniels (man he was a very lowly indy geek back then too), Eddie Guerrero, Earthquake and Typhoon, Shawn Michaels.

I didn't even remember Foley until I saw a picture of him just now.

Evil Vito 04-29-2009 07:41 AM

<font color=goldenrod>I met Kane at an autograph signing at the local mall in like 1999. Christian, Abyss, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, The Heart Throbs, and Tommy Dreamer at a local indy show in 2006. And most recently, like a month week ago:</font>

Most of them are in 2 different places in Michigan called Gibralter. Its a place where they hold sports card shows, and etc. There is 2 different locations about 40 miles apart, but a bunch of wrestlers usually show up there. However a buddy of mine, the one who is in the Christian picture, knows people that work at this building, and they actually let us go to the back room and meet the wrestlers before their signing starts. So we dont usually stand in line, and can get a couple of minutes with the wrestler beforehand.

The 2 most recent of Foley was at a KMart, and Kennedy was at a Best Buy.

Anybody Thrilla 04-29-2009 03:31 PM

I've met Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Mark Henry (twice), Nigel McGuninness, Jimmy Wang Yang, Lillian Garcia, Abyss, Shark Boy, and Raven. Oddly enough, only one of those meetings (Jericho) was at an autograph signing. I met Chris Benoit at a movie theater. I also met Mark Henry at a movie theater (where I was working at the time) and another time at another job when he was asking me about some portable CD players. I met Jimmy Yang at Hooter's during the December PPV this past year and I talked to him for like ten minutes. I met Abyss and Shark Boy after an HWA show and I did Jagerbombs with them. Nigel and Lillian were just after shows.

Anybody Thrilla 04-29-2009 03:32 PM

Oh yeah, I also met Disco Inferno, Norman Smiley, Lenny Lane, and Lodi at the Gathering of the Juggalos. At Wendy's, I met Mad Man Pondo, but I'm not so sure he counts.

I've met Billy Kidman, Juventud Guerrera, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan all in Universal Studios when WCW used to tape there. I met The Rock at an autograph signing at the King of Prussia mall, I have his autograph in a frame somewhere.

My dad met The Headbangers in the airport once.

Strangely, my girlfriend has a very interesting story about a pro wrestler. She has a gay friend and one day she went out with him to meet his newest "boyfriend". She goes to his house and it is fucking huge. He told her that he was some sort of pro wrestler. She got to test drive his Ferrari and hang out there for a day. She was never a big wrestling fan, so she didn't care what he did for a living. She forgets his name, but he live(s/d) somewhere in the Philadelphia area. I'd have to ask her again for a description of what he looked like. But when she told me that it blew my mind.

Never met a well known pro wrestler, but I played rugby with an indy worker who wrestled in a tag team called the flatliners. Pretty weak compared to you guys, but he was a cool guy and knew a lot of well known guys.

It'd be cool if I played rugby with some well known indy worker (obviously it'd be awesome if it was a wwe or tna wreslter but I don't think they'd have the time to play summer league rugby)

There's a tag team called the Flatliners who've wrestled for the indie promotion here I sometimes help out with. If it's the same guy/team they had an amazing finisher one night. One guy did a powerbomb while his partner did the backcracker. It was pretty sick (and the one guy may have gone off the top rope for the backcracker). Regardless, it was sick.

FourFifty 04-30-2009 12:05 AM

Aside from WWE set up autograph signings I've met The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine. HTM is a hell of a guy, and I wish I would have gotten a picture. He signed my belt though.

This shortly after WrestleMania (as in later that night). He was staying in the same hotel that a lot of fans were staying at (the hotel that the WWE used for the packages).
Now walking in Houston all that weekend I was handed a lot of flyers from a lot of religious zealots. So I get to the hotel and this guy all but shoves this piece of paper in my face. I try to wave him away as I said "Sorry, I don't believe in god." The guy laughed a little and said it has nothing to do with faith. The Honky Tonk Man and Greg Valentine were having a "private" autograph singing in their hotel room.
I thought this was a prank, but I heard other people talking about it. So I'm on the elevator with other people who were talking about it, and the phrase "Rythym and Broke" was the greattest running joke ever, until we all got to the room.
It wasn't a joke.

That guy is so fucking entertaining. I looked at him dead in the eyes and said "I grew up hating you."
"AND WHY DID YOU HATE ME!?!?! Did I do anything to you? Did I do anything to your family? What did I do to you that caused you to hate me so much that down the line you'll tell me you grew up hating me?"
He had a beer in his hand, I had a beer in mine, so I had a beer with The Honky Tonk Man.

And Greg "The Hammer" Valentine looked like he was Greg "The Hammered" Valentine. He didn't say much.

thedamndest 04-30-2009 12:17 AM

My God! I almost forgot! I met Mr. Backlund too. He was raising money for his political campaign (an actual one, not his kayfabe Presidential race) and selling autographed shirts and photos at events. I actually got to talk with him a bit. Don't remember what about though. I remember he was a lot like Mr. Backlund in a way, but kidding around. Very cool.

Saw Punk and Maria after Final Battle 06 when Cide won the belt, but didn't make anything of it since I was in shock. One being a Punk fan, but mainly because Maria was so damn hot I ended up just staring.

DaveWadding 04-30-2009 05:00 PM

Met Nash in Target in like 95. He was shopping for an ironing board. I was like 9 and had a huge markout moment.

I met Lawler after a RAW one time, walking back through the the elevator from the floor seats we had.

Zeeboe 05-03-2009 09:50 AM

I saw Mick Foley in a movie theater lobby in Round Rock, Texas one time back in late May of 2000 on a Friday night. As he was leaving, he walked right past me. I didn't have the jam to say anything however. Infact, no one did, and almost everyone knew who he was. One guy finally yelled out, "Mick Foley rules!" as ol' Cactus Jack was at the doors. He turned, grinned, gave a little wave, then left. A lot of people followed him outside, and one girl went up to him, and spoke with him, and they walked together for a minute. No clue what was happening there. Then Mrs. Foley's baby boy got in his car, and left. Everyone out there were mostly teenagers, and we were all marking out.

I met Chris Jericho in the summer of 2000 when he was doing an autograph session at the Lakeline mall here in Austin. It was the day after Fully Loaded where he had a brutal Last Man Standing match with Triple H. The WWF was going to be doing Raw that same night. I remember Y2J looked very sleepy through out the whole signing. I felt bad for him. He was still nice to everyone. When it was my turn, I said. "Hey, what's up Chris?" I remember he had his eyes closed, and sleepish said..."Hey, what's up man?" He opened his eyes, and I stuck my hand out to shake his hand. He smiled at me, and shook my hand. I kinda felt like a dork for doing that, but I only had one chance to shake hands, so I had to go for it. I thought it was nice that he humored me. Of course it could have been worst.....

I had this friend of mine there too, but we didn't know each other at that time. Years later, when we worked together, we were talking wrestling, and we both find out we were at that same signing years ago. He told me a funny story about that day. He said that he was with a buddy, and that his mate went up to Y2J, and in a very excited tone said:

"I just wanna know ONE thing! When are you gonna turn heel!?!?"

"I don't man! I don't decide stuff like that!"

My co-worker said the way Jericho said it was priceless, and he was trying not to burst out laughing. Between Jericho's tone, and the fact that his pal just got dissed was pure comedy gold.

Also, didn't exactly meet him per se, but at a RAW house show, I think last year sometime, as he was wrapping up his gig as RAW GM, William Regal came out and did a promo from where he was standing, which was a few rows down from me, by the soundboard guy, but he had his back to me so I didn't bother yelling at him or taking a pic of him or anything.

I did security for JBL in Iraq, I'm good friends with "Irish" Mickey Doyle, I've interviewed Raven, talked with AMW, Gail Kim, and Sonjay Dutt. I've talked with Bastion Booger and Virgil, who are both assholes.

Theres probably more, but, none come to mind.

Oh, and as a side note, I saw one of Ken Kennedy...Anderson... Kennedys first matches In my hometown at a hockey rink.
