Turtles in Time 3D remake on XBLA!!

Turtles in Time remake in development for XBLA, possibly PSN and WiiWare

by David Hinkle { 43 minutes ago } http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...reaking001.png http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...001xbox001.png http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...intendo001.png http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...station001.png
The 25th Anniversary Tour for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is traveling across the country right now, and reports are rolling in from those lucky enough to stop by one of the locations that a remake for Turtles in Time is currently in development. The Alpha build of the game is being demoed on the Xbox 360 throughout the tour, but we're getting reports it could possibly makes its way to PSN and WiiWare as well, though there is no confirmation of that right now. One of our tipsters pointed us to the Twitter account for Hyperfludd (who stopped by and snagged some pics), but we've also found other sources confirming this game's existence.

Turtles in Time is arguably the best Turtles game ever, so remaking that is definitely a smart idea. Kind of like putting peanut butter on pizza.

Fignuts 05-01-2009 03:18 PM

Fucking awesome. Although it better be the SNES version and not the arcade.

Xero 05-01-2009 03:20 PM

If the controls stay as good and it's just a graphical makeover I'll be very happy. Been waiting for this to be released, by far my favorite Turtles game.

I'd have been less weary if they just released it the way they did SF2 HD. Hopefully they'll include the original because the sprites looked MUCH better than that screen (which is usually the case anyway).

#BROKEN Hasney 05-01-2009 03:23 PM

Yeah, if the 2D version is in as well it's is freaking awesome.

Also, whats wrong with the Arcade version? I preffered the Hyperstone Heist (Same game, just for the Mega Drive) to the other 2 versions. Well, bar the music.

Fignuts 05-01-2009 03:28 PM

SNES version has 1 or 2 more levels I think. Different bosses too. Like, instead of that kickass slash guy, the prehistoric level has this generic blob thing. I don't think the arcade has Toka and Ryzar either.

Xero 05-01-2009 03:32 PM

I seriously doubt this is a straight-up remake. They'll probably include the SNES stages.

I just hope they don't "modernize" it and turn the difficulty down to pussy levels.

G 05-01-2009 03:33 PM

my favorite

Fignuts 05-01-2009 03:35 PM

k, did some wiki research, and tokka and rahzar are in the arcade version, but ratking, behop and rocksteady aren't. Also, there are two technodrome levels in the snes version.

Also, Hyperstone Heist is almost a completly different game. Just takes a few elements from TiT.

#BROKEN Hasney 05-01-2009 03:39 PM

Man, my memories fucked. I remember playing the arcade version, then that and thinking it was the same game.

Neverowned the SNES one, but if it has Bebop and Rocksteady then defo the SNES version

Mr. Monday Morning 05-01-2009 03:42 PM

OMG YES

Vietnamese Crippler 05-01-2009 05:09 PM

I'm not usually hyped for downloading stuff from XBLA or PSN, but

Funky Fly 05-01-2009 05:11 PM

Yeah, I have the SNES version. Much better than Hyperstone Heist.

This is awesome news. Also, IMO the best Turtles game ever is TMNT: Tournament Fighters for the SNES. It's Street Fighter with Ninja Turtles. NES and Genesis versions are completely different and totally suck ass games. SNES version is godly.

Yeah, I like the ones where they have both the retro version and the new one.

Anyway, my keyboard's all wet from the news.

To be fair, apples and oranges.

Funky Fly 05-01-2009 07:31 PM

To be fair, I did say "IMO".

Dark-Slicer Diago 05-01-2009 08:59 PM

Sweet, definately going to get this.

Jeritron 05-01-2009 09:03 PM

I still play the real deal all the time. I have it for SNES, and my friend has it on his homeade mame arcade cabinet (along with every other arcade game ever)

G 05-01-2009 09:04 PM

WELL ISN'T HE JUST GEE GOLLY FANTASTIC

Jeritron 05-01-2009 09:15 PM

I'm going to make one of my own. It is incredible.

I mean, they're amazing, yeah.

But I got kinda tired of seeing them, ya know?

Either way, all of them would be awesome.

It's not like they can't add more shit in, which since it's a "new" version they may do?

I dunno, felt like watching random gameplay footage.

Between this and that Ninja Turtles/Smash Brothers game getting worked on... well, it looks like the turtles are making a comeback

Shaggy 05-02-2009 12:18 AM

This game is the only reason my super nintendo still has a spot in my living room. I guess once this hits the console officially goes in the closet.

turtles/smash game?

It better be on PSN as well!

.44 Magdalene 05-02-2009 12:29 AM

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up is a four player fighting game based on Ninja Turtles, being made by a combination of the guys that made Smash Bros and a few guys from Team Ninja. All the screenshots and whatnot so far indicate that it's going to be alot like Smash Bros., up to and including the name of it.

The game story is being written by Peter Laird, one of the original creators; Mirage Studios is picking the characters, and are looking to surprise a few people.

Yeah baby.

.44 Magdalene 05-02-2009 12:30 AM

Oh, and it's for the Wii.

Taft 05-02-2009 01:17 AM

Wii?
bum

Funky Fly 05-02-2009 01:17 AM

Any word on when either is due out?

.44 Magdalene 05-02-2009 02:08 AM

Heeeell no

Jeritron 05-02-2009 02:59 AM

I have Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters for SNES. It's basically SF2.

My biggest complaint would be the lack of actual noteworthy turtles characters outside of the Turtles and Shredder.
No Rocksteady and Beebop? No Casey Jones? No Splinter?
Yet theres a handful of made up characters.

Rat King is unlockable, which is cool.

But yea, it'd be awesome if this Smash Bros type deal has all the classic characters

Yeah, the Mega Drive version had a much better roster. Shame the game sucked balls.

I was always a a sucker for Chrome Dome on the SNES.

Yeah baby.

I didn't know about this. I may have to get this. TMNT interests me a lot more than Pit.

Laird has been involved in most of the recent TMNT stuff. And it's been damn good, far as I've seen. Kevin Eastman is no longer involved in the process.

Pit was one of the really good things about Brawl. I dominate with him, even though he's got 0 strength and weighs less than a wet paper towel.

Judging by the boss silhouettes, it is based on the arcade version. Which means no Bebop and Rocksteady, no ratking, and no technodrome.

Michelangelo wears orange and his name is Mike. That is enough to make him the best character of anything in the world.

OssMan 05-06-2009 02:27 PM

Hyperstone Heist not having Sewer Surfin' was so stupid. They had a sewer stage with a crappy version of the song but you just walked through it.

Fignuts 05-06-2009 04:58 PM

wtf no slash and no super shredder either?

Fuck this noise. I'll stick with the snes rom.

Taft 05-06-2009 06:32 PM

So you're honestly not going to buy this?

Fignuts 05-06-2009 06:34 PM

No.

Jeritron 05-08-2009 02:32 AM

I don't see the appeal either. It's a generic looking change. It takes the retro-cartoony look, and replaces it with an uneeded intern looking 3D skin.
Since the game is all the same, what's the point? To me it seems like all cons, and no real pros.

Of course, I have access to both versions of this, so maybe that's why I think this. I suppose if I didn't have the real deal I would mark out for this

did they just switch the charecters or something to promote the movie?

Funky Fly 05-13-2009 06:16 AM

Yeah they added more levels in the SNES version, so you fight Tokka and Rahzar earlier in a technodrome level instead of the boat. Rocksteady and Bebop are the pirate stage bosses.

But that's not what he's saying, lol

TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled a timed Xbox 360 exclusive

by David Hinkle { 11 hours ago } http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.jo...001xbox001.png
Kotaku is reporting that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled has received a release date of July 22, and will be a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360. Since we're not in the business of just believing everything we read, we decided to contact Ubisoft for some clarification.

Our rep at Ubisoft indeed did confirm the release date and the timed exclusivity on Xbox Live Arcade, which is likely to tick off a few PS3 owners out there. We'd suggest copious amounts of Infamous and, if you're lucky enough, the Uncharted 2 beta to get you through these tough times.

I was hoping it would be out next week or something

I think the x-men arcade game is before assman's time.

Also, if they do release it on live, fuck adding 3-d graphics. The 2-d sprites captured the art of the book at the time, perfectly.
