E3 2009
E3 2009 is scheduled for June 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Major press conferences:
* Microsoft Corporation (June 1, 2009 1.25pm EST) * Electronic Arts (June 1, 2009 05.00pm EST) * Ubisoft (June 1, 2009 08.00pm EST) * Nintendo (June 2, 2009 12.00pm EST) * Sony Computer Entertainment (June 2, 2009 2.00am EST) Credible coverage: G4 Channel, live broadcast of the big three press conferences. IGN.com, to-the-minute text updates and covers third party conferences. Gamespot, see above. Kotaku, see above. And here! (though I may not update this year, any takers?) Hopefully there will be big announcements from Sony and Nintendo. Sony just posted a big loss and Nintendo had the crappiest of showings last year alongside having no good games.

Definitely expecting something about this new Zelda game with Wii Motion Plus thing that is "being worked on." And probably a whole bunch of fucking news about the DS and not much about the Wii.

The fact that we don't know any of MS or Nintendos big games for this year means both o those are being looked forward to.
At this point, the only surpise Sony could pull would be a price cut. Rumors right now: Nintendo New zelda New game from Retro that isn't a Metroid Pikmin 3 Worst case scenario: That silly bitch from last year talks about how she hurt herself in a hobby and Myamoto announces a new game based on a hobby called WiiRead - Book Edition MS Some weird motion sensor plus camera deal. Like Wii games without a Wiimote GTA4 DLC Worst case scenario: they don't have a big game and are relying on DLC PS3 There 2009 line up is pretty much known. I'm expecting some for of revenge for FF13 last year. Probably Mass Effect. Price cut? (rofl) PSP GO (or PSP: UMD Was a failure edition) Worst case scenario: they just talk about the power of PS3, highlighting that due to Bly ray, FF13 will have Japanese language on the PS3 as an option whereas the 360 one doesn't. |
Only big thing I'm interested in is what Miyamoto brings to the table for Nintendo this year. Last year he brought nothing and nowadays the core gamer natives are getting restless for something big to come their way for their Wiis that are collecting dust.
Zelda: Steam Tracks has been announced for the DS but I would love another to make it's way to the wii. Yes, I know that Punch Out hits shelves this week. But I hope that's not the only thing we're not getting this year to keep us in check. Playstation pretty much let the cat out of the bag already. But there's rumblings of a PS3 slim to be debuted at E3 this year also. They got a solid line up of games from Uncharted 2, God of War 3, MAG, and White Knight Chronicles to name a few. But as VC said, Sony took a hit in the first quarter so another price cut may be coming too. Microsoft is keeping quiet. Smart tactic? Or they that confident they are going to win this year? Hideo Kojima's big announcement is this week and the rumor is it's another MGS for the 360. Unless Bill Gates became BFF with another big time gaming outfit, I'm not worried about them right now. |

I'm out of town on the 1st and 2nd so I wont be watching live streams or anything. I hope their will be something cool to read or watch when I get back.
I'm not really excited over E3 this year, to be honest. After Nintendos farce last year, I'm not holding out hope for anything even slightly interesting from them even though I want a reason to play my Wii, very badly because it just sits around doing nothing. I'm not a big enough fan of Microsoft to be looking forward to anything specific from them, unless something Fable related is announced. I can imagin Microsoft may have something that will peak my interests in some way. In the 10 or so months I've had my 360, they've really blown me away a lot. I'm not bothering with Sony this genereation so it's up to Microsoft and Nintendo to show me something good. |

Aliens vs. Predator - The PC game was the first game to explain to me the idea of an online FPS ages ago. The same team is making a reboot and so far I've heard cool shit.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - Ended up loving the the first game's multiplayer, but I feel they will reveal a lot of single player shit for now. Dante's Inferno - EA's yankee-ass doing an action game? I actually wanna see where this goes... Can Western's take on action strike twice? Final Fantasy XIII - Give me some new elements, and an American demo. Final Fantasy Versus XIII - Something... anything! Lost Planet 2 - I'm so sprung for this after that boss battle trailer it's not funny. This game looks awesome. Can Eastern's take on 3rd Person shooting hit it's stride? Gladiator A.D. - Bushido Blade + WiiMotion+ = this? Count me interested. These High Voltage guys are really getting chummy with Nintendo's console and I like it. The Grinder - Left 4 Dead + other creatures of the night = this? High Voltage is feeding Wii owners well. MAG - Gameplay demo with at least a hundred dudes will wind me over. Otherwise it's all still talk a year later. Halo 3: ODST - Gameplay details and a peak at the last three maps maybe? |

My xbox 360 crapped out and its been shipped out so I am not really pumped for the stuff coming out for it because of it I guess. I am more excited to see what Nintendo has up their sleeve. Whatever they do, it won't be as bad as last year. I am crossing my fingers for AT LEAST a mention of a New Zelda game with details.

Splinter Cell has been scrapped twice. it's still Emo Sam, but it looks hot in action now.
Also, MS just sent out an email. We know nothing of their plans for the rest of this year and they are hyping this E3 conference so hard.
