Breaking News. More Controversy for WWE.

Just thought I'd pass this along.

The following report is courtesy of Wrestlezone.com

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is an article from AZCentral.com:

Three professional wrestlers and World Wrestling Entertainment are being sued in Maricopa County by flight attendants who allege the wrestlers sexually harassed them aboard a chartered luxury airplane.

The suit, filed late Monday in Superior Court, accuses Ric "The Nature Boy" Flair, Scott "The Diamond Stud" Hall and Dustin "Golddust" Rhodes of "extreme and outrageous" behavior on a return flight from Europe aboard Phoenix-based SportsJet on May 5, 2002.

The suit alleges Flair wore only a jeweled cape, flashed his penis and forced a flight attendant to touch his crotch. It claims that Hall asked a flight attendant to give him oral sex and licked the face of another attendant. Runnels, the suit says, grabbed one attendant and said they were going to have sex.

The suit also said other wrestlers on the return flight from Europe repeatedly groped the attendants.

Calls to World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., based in Stamford, Conn., were not returned. An official for SportsJet could be reached for comment.

SportsJet also is being investigated over the allegations by the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The company is owned by Phoenix Coyotes owner Jerry Moyes, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns. It provides flights for the three teams, as well as other teams, athletes and rock stars.

Dont worry. Its in my head too. Why did I have to read this post. Oh well even though it is brutal, picturing old Flair flashing is pretty funny when you think about it.

RGWhat316 03-30-2004 11:52 PM

If this happened nearly 2 years ago, why is it being brought up now?

Corkscrewed 03-30-2004 11:55 PM

^ That's exactly what I was wondering. You think they would have brought up up..ya know.. when it happened? It's not like it happened to one woman too and she was intimidated. This is a group of victims.

So I'm not too sure what's going on here...

loopydate 03-30-2004 11:58 PM

So, what (if anything) have we learned in the last two years?

Don't let WWE fly on your airline! Baaaaaaaad things happen when wrestlers get on a plane.

Cause it takes approx. 2 years come up with a story that makes wrestlers seem bad enough. Plus with the WWE in the news because of Wrestlemania XX it finally came into these ladies heads that now is a jackpot time for them to file there suit against the WWE. Vince will settle out of court and no investigation will be made, just what these gold diggers are looking for. I hate to sound harsh, but 2 years? What probably happened was the three wrestlers in question got a little drunk and said some things that didn't sit well with the ladies, but they never really thought it was a big deal, until the WWE was in the news with Wrestlemania XX, then they figured... Why get some money?

Corkscrewed 03-31-2004 12:19 AM

I finally figured it out! The ladies work for the World Wildlife Foundation!!

Rock Bottom 03-31-2004 12:22 AM

rottednation 03-31-2004 02:28 AM

I really can't see them doing that shit, but then again, we're all human, and there are wierd and crazy people in the world. I just hope that they didn't...

PureHatred 03-31-2004 04:01 AM

Every shoot interview I've read with women who worked in the WCW pretty much said Flair was a perv. So i can believe that he, along with those other two, could get out of hand. But if these women were so traumatized, why did it take two years to bring charges? Why weren't these guys cuffed as soon as the flight landed if things were so bad? They just want a paycheck.

Also, is Scott hall cursed or born under a bad moon, or what?

So THAT is why Brock bought his own plane....

His last PPV appearance was Backlash, he was fired shortly after InsurreXtion, He was definantly in the WWE in May. I remember the first 'WWE' Raw was also Scott Hall's last match.

PureHatred 03-31-2004 02:05 PM

If you believed the Net, the incidents on this flight and while he was overseas are what led directly to his release.

VonErich Lives 03-31-2004 02:32 PM

yeah, this was "The Flight" where Hall and Henning got cut after.

Hayes got drunk, started an altercation w/ Bradshaw, and after Haynes passed out, Xpac cut off his pony tail. Story is, the next night it was hung in the locker room w/ a sign "auctioning off, money going twords AA".

This was also where Henning started a brawl w/ Lesner and they crashed into the emergency exit.

Ross was on the flight, but didn't feel he "could do anything" suposivly from what I read, the only person who did anything was Taker in breaking up Bradshaw and Haynes and calming down Bradshaw (after he decked haynes).

As for Flair, this was the first I heard of the "flashing" but from what I've read, he's been known for years (decades) to flash people, he does it sober.. he finds it "funny".

As for 2yrs, I doubt it has anything to do w/ WMXX, more likely they have been trying to settle out of court w/ the WWE for 2yrs and either didn't get what they wanted or WWE walked away. That's why most these cases take so long, they contact the company or people directly to work an out of court settlement. It saves the victems from having to go through court, saves the guilty from the same, which saves both sides from public embarasement and also saves court expenses.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Kalyx triaD 03-31-2004 02:33 PM

I would've believed Hall's action and maybe Goldust's. But Family man Flair? In his robe that he couldn't have possible stepped on to the plane in?! He just went into the bathroom with his bags or took his robe out and changed right there?!? If you appear HALF drunk on a plane they will control you I assure, no matter how first class it is. Hall may have been in WWE at the time, but he couldn't have been on the plane with Hall and Flair; I may be wrong, but was Dusty even active at the time?

I don't believe a damn thing these 'Kobe-Suckers' say.

PureHatred 03-31-2004 02:52 PM

Dustin Runnels was active and on the European tour. Do you really believe that a lawsuit would've gone this far w/o someone checking whether or not the guy was even on the flight?

Dustin was on the flight (a funny story is he suposivly sang to Teri but she wasn't amused) Hell as on the Flight and so was Flair.

As for "if you appear half drunk" sorry, thats crap. Especially on a charter.

Remember, we're not talking "first class" on a comercial flight, this was a private charter.

CanAmConnection 03-31-2004 04:45 PM

While 2 years is a while, most causes of action in a civil lawsuit have a 3 years statute of limitations to file suit. People wait to file suits all the time, for all kinds of reasons.

VonErich Lives 03-31-2004 06:21 PM

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0331042wwe1.html

Page 6 gives the details... what I do find interesting and I may not understand this, but they appear to be charging the wives of Flair, Golddust and Hall... which I can't say for sure all 3 were married at the time and looks like they can't either. I'd assume this just keeps them from moving money into their wives name.

BigDaddyCool 03-31-2004 06:53 PM

I don't believe it. Like Ric Flair only wears a sprackly robe.

DaveWadding 03-31-2004 10:58 PM

It probably is legit. I do remember the incident fairly well. I think that was the same flight that Brock Lesner and Mr. Perfect were shoot wrestling on the flight and smashed a bunch of stuff up. There were rumors afterwards that said that while they were doing it they bumped into the door and it almost opened, but those rumors were later shot down. Everyone on the plane was drunk for the most part :nono: ...idiots...

Evolution 04-01-2004 05:57 PM

Wasn't there something (I remember reading thid in a Scott Hall interview) about Vince McMahon riding Howard Finkel like a bull in the aisleway?
