That's my exact fucking point. :( I like Sherk, it's because I'm a wrestler base so naturally I pull for wrestlers, why would you strike with someone with a better striking yet weaker wrestling game than you. Rampage

Doubt it. Rampage is a great technical boxer with phenomenal power, but Machida will do what he always does. Stay outside your reach, wait for an opening, go in and fuck you up.

He'll probably take him to the ground and try to choke him out from behind. Easier than trying to fuck up that iron chin and dodge bombs at the same time and you avoid getting powerbombed otherwise.

Rampage needs to be in close usually...and that ain't gonna happen with Machida. After Rampage I honoustly don't know who will be number 1 contender...I suppose if Forrest beats Anderson he'll get the shot, but if he doesn't there isn't really a clear challenger.

Rashad took more of a beating before going down than most in the division would've been able to take. For a second I thought he was going to whether the last dragon storm also.

Well, let's see...

Edgar-Sherk: Frankie landed a Muscle Shark. Sad thing is, Sherk only went for two takedowns, and 1 was stuffed. He decided to kickbox instead of play to his strength. Stupid.

Miller-Sonnen: Chael looked much more confortable against Miller, once he escaped that first Guillotine. I told my friend that he really was happy he wasn't facing Demian Maia. He just dominated.

McFedries-Prof X: Short fight. Good lord, McFedries put it on him. He beat the guy so badly his last name is now pronounceable.

Krystoff-Fusmao: Krystoff has some nasty nasty hands to go with the Kimura of death. He could well be legit, but needs a good test.

Hughes-Serra: I told somebody that I had my money on Matt. Anyway, it was a close fight. Hughes won 29-28, but he just as well could have lost 29-28. It was probably the best fight of the night.

Machida-Evans: What else is there to say? Evans got systematically dissected for the first round. Machida hurt him and proceeded to destroy him in the second. When I heard the fight was changed, I said 'Shad was gonna die. Well the fight took place and...

I had to laugh when I heard Rogan try to argue the fan poll (64-36 in favor of Machida) wondering why they were underrating Evans.

Larson-Pyle: Pyle attempted alot of subs, but not of them worked. Nice arm triangle by Larson for the win.

Hague-Berry: Berry rocked him, but got reckless. Hague exposed Berry as being very weak on the ground. Nice guillotine. He said after the fight he wanted some beers. So do I, my large friend. So do I.

You aren't the only one. Machida looks so fast and accurate. You can say Evans was willing to take a punch to get some in himself when close in and he still couldn't tag him.

After reading about Lyoto Machida's career on other boards, this is all making me think just how good Tito Ortiz actually looked especially since he got buried after that fight. Nobody has come close to hitting Machida since and Ortiz actually had him close to being finished.

Yeah Machida's striking is far better than Rampages, I don't know why anyone would think that Rampage would dominate that fight.

It's not far better. Rampage is a lot more technical than people give him credit. Just because his hands are like 18 wheel trucks doesn't mean he doesn't have the skill to put them where he needs to. It's going to come down to footwork if they stand up.

I don't think Rampage's standup isn't world class, his boxing is extremely good, but from what I've seen of Machida... he seems on a different level.

In saying that I don't think Rampage would get ktfoed I just feel like he would get out classed in the footwork department, he doesn't exactly do as good a job as Machida avoiding damage.

I don't think Rampage will be able to get inside well enough to beat Machida. I think he'd have to bullrush and push Machida against the cage.

Man, that picture looks bad.

He is a tough hombre no doubt. He took some BOMBS in that fight... accurate nasty bombs. He is so durable too which allows him to win fights, and he fights smart... he jsut ran into the Dragon Train.
