What are some movies you love, but almost everyone else hates?
Just to name a few, some of mine are: Celtic Pride, The Fan, The Blair Witch Project, Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows, and The Village.
Anyone else? |
Fever Pitch
50 First Dates |
Hmmm interesting thread. Off the top of my head: Celtic Pride, The Fan, The Blair Witch Project, Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows, and The Village.
|
I LOVE Celtic Pride
|
I need to go ask almost everyone else what they hate. Will return.
|
the new x-files movie i want to beleive
people just cant stand that it had no aliens which ya i was disapointed in but it was still a good fucking movie |
Daredevil
Domino First two that come to mind |
I remember being disappointed that Domino, about a badass chick was in fact not about Domino... another badass chick.
|
I had a conversation today with someone who hated Gridiron Gang. I love that movie. I don't know how how everyone else feels about it....
|
With the Rock and the football team? It was okay.
|
speed racer
|
Miami Vice
People didn't hate it, but I loved it more than everyone else it seems. |

:y: Right there with you. I knew I was forgetting one. |
Karate Kid 2
Batman Forever Spider-Man 3 Alien Resurrection Blank Check |
Pulp Fiction
Common opinion is that it is not an 'amazing' film and that for instance Ghostbustes is the 'better movie' but honestly, I loved it:) |
I really liked Snakes on a Plane. Also, I don't ever see much love for Zoolander, which is one of my absolute favourites.
|
A Night At The Roxbury
|
Phantom Menace. Jar Jar Binks doesn't even bother me all that much.
|
Mermaids
Most people never saw it or don't want to watch it but it is one of my favorite movies. |
Dry land is not a myth. I've seen it. Kevin Costner. Waterworld. I don't know what the big fuss is about. I saw that movie nine times. It rules!
So yeah, both Waterworld and The Cable Guy. |
The Cable Guy. Might be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
|
Almost everyone hates the Blair Witch Project?
|
Yeah that one perplexed me too slightly, I thought it was a pretty big commercial and critical success

I said it. |
Mutant Chronicles. Seems like only me and two of my buddies loved it.
|
Zoolander and The Cable Guy definately are two of my faves
Another good one is One Hour Photo with Robin Williams...Was a flop at the box office but is RW's best thrillers ever |
Superman Returns. Sure, it was no Dark Knight, but I rather enjoyed it.

Papa - You and your friends would be making lots of Hogan jokes about me cause I say "brother" daily. Speaking of the Hulkster, No Holds Barred is another film I love, but almost everyone else seems to dislike. Road House is another. I also loved Karate Kid 2, Blank Check, and 50 First Dates. I never knew that one was disliked. :( I thought it was great. I liked Spider-Man 3 as well, and Batman Forever. Have not seen Alien Resurrection in a long time, but I do recall enjoying it. I should also add I love Alien 3, and never understood the dislikement of it. The Cable Guy is another fav. As is One Hour Photo.

Phonebooth
|
I love phonebooth. Do people really hate that? I think they just have ADD if they do, since it's in one location the whole time.
|
Most of the people talk to said they hated it, but I thought it was excellent movie.
|
Yea I thought it was great.
|
I also enjoyed Phonebooth. :-\
|
Ditto.
I love the new Shaft with Samuel L. Jackson. I have the dvd. :-\ |
I remember liking Daredevil, Phonebooth and Batman Forever with nobody else in my family liking those.
|
I liked Phone Booth as well. I think most of the people who didn't like it don't like Colin Farrell.
|
Colin Farrell is hit and miss. I liked Phone Booth too except the twist ending.
|
I love Phone Booth
|
One word, 3 letters - UHF

Pan's Labyrinth, American Crude, Kabluey
|
Pan's Labyrinth???
It's ranked as one of the 100 greatest movies of all time on IMDB and very few critics didn't love it. How does that fit the category of "Almost everyone else hating it"? For me, Celtic Pride, The Cable Guy and The Blair Witch Project have all been mentioned. Love them all. Also, Fever Pitch. Jimmy Fallon was amazing in it. One of the more under-rated performances in recent memory. |

Also @ #1-wwf-fan: How can anyone NOT friggin' love The Cable Guy? It's a funny-ass Jim Carrey movie, and the person he's supposed to be helping in the very beginning? Well, as I'm sure everyone has heard by now, that before that person's set konks out, in the very first scene, you can see that the person is watching Press Your Luck. (You can actually hear Peter Tomarken announcing a person hitting $3000 + ONE SPIN at one point...) "CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABLE GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" God, Jim Carrey is so damn funny. I find it amazing that Carrey and Sandler, maybe even Rob Schneider, a hint of Jon Stewart and/or Steve Colbert, all in a mega-comedy, could be gold just waiting to happen. But doubtful since Stewart and Colbert kinda have the whole mock rating war over on Comedy Central. |
I don't know if other people don't like it, but I very very rarely ever hear anybody mention Kill Bill. I loved those movies.
|
Most people don't like Pan's Labyrinth because it's subtitled and people are too fucking lazy to read. Amazing movie.
|
Bad Boys !!, i like it so sue me.

Celtic Pride and Fever Pitch, eh? Are you by any chance a Bostonian? |
I love those movies. They make Boston fans look like idiots.
It's great. |
I just recently watched Road House on blu-ray for the first time. It had been a long time in general since I saw the fiml. It was great. The screen was clear, and I have surround sound, so I felt like I was in the bar at times. I'll never understand the dislike of Road House. It's another reminder of just how awesome the 80's were. :D

The Village
Daredevil The Postman |
Street Fighter
|
Mortal Kombat Annihilation
|
Even though the movie is not hated, it did flop at the theater, and that movie was Grindhouse, which I thought was great. I've also always liked Rocky V.
|
Grindhouse is great. I'm glad I was one of the few to see it in the theater, because the full cut is the way to go and it's really a shame that it's not available that way on dvd

Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles is another. Good ol' Paul Hogan....I heard there are rumors of a remake of the first Crocodile Dundee being planned for 2011.....
|
I like the Street Fighter movie, it was more than 10x better then the Chun-Li one. Raul Julia was the best in that movie as well. BTW, they set it up for a second one had Raul Julia not die.

Really enjoyed Terminator Salvation. Mostly because of Sam Worthington's performance.
|
10 things I hate about you
Also liked Terminator 4 |
Yeah I quite liked Terminator 4 too.
|
I didn't think Terminator IV was unpopular.....everyone I've spoken to online and offline loved it.
|
Terminator 4 sucked.
I'm fond of Little Nicky. Very underrated. I guess I can also say Pluto Nash. I enjoyed that movie. Might even say I enjoyed it alot. Might go rent it and watch it again. |
Eurotrip.
Harold and Kumar II. I don't care if the storylines are shit, they both made me lol several times. |
