Really, are they for serious with this? Lackluster.
Trump "owns" raw? That was the biggest disappointment ever.
Discuss. |
How do you own a brand anyhow?
You know they were is Charlotte, NC. So naturally I was expecting Flair, plus I remember some sort of rumor saying he was going to be GM, that would have made sense and got a pop.
I was hoping it would have been Bischoff. I could have seen it go to Shane or even dare say HHH as a way for Vince to start fading out. It would have been completely crazy if it was Ted Turner. But no, it was Trump? Really, that guy? What does he have to do with wrestling? |

I have this odd feeling that this is something so stupid that it works.

They pretty much were doing it... then they decided they'd rather target dumb kids instead. To each his own.
Wow. Three hours of my life I can never get back....
And you know what will really bring in dumb kids? Donald Trump's weird hair.

Haha great. I loved the Trump/Vince feud in 2007. Glad it's back, some interesting drama.
At least it's something different.
I love all the people who say they lost me as a fan or i hate this...yet they will be tuned in next monday to see where this all goes...all that matters is that the belt is back where it belongs

LOL

I've had personal issues that seemed more important than wrestling lately, and now that the issues have simmered down, I tried to watch. But if this is what they are doing, pass. |

The Jappaneese have done it.

Have you?

OIC.
Yeah gotcha. What a stupid argument that is. |
There are probably lots more people who shouldn't own Raw. Rosie O'Donnell, Paris Hilton, Daniel Baldwin, you get the idea. Donald Trump is slightly above them in that he at least has SOME history with the wrestling business. I'm not just talking about shaving Vince, but he's hosted Wrestlemania a few times at Trump plaza (even though most of the current fans weren't born then).
That said, it would have made more sense to have somebody from the wrestling universe and not just with a passing affiliation to buy the show. Flair, Turner, Heyman, Shane, even Mike Adamle probably would have been better choices. This is a clear attempt a grabbing an audience, but with The Donald? He overstayed his pop culture welcome about four years ago. That said, the matches featuring Smackdown superstars last night were quite good. Surprisingly, the Big Show looked dominant for a little bit. I hope that continues. |
No, I see your point about he does have some passing history with the wrestling business. But it was just hard to watch when he was ranting about how he is going to give back to the WWE Universe and how great raw is but Vince has been running it into the ground or whatever. And then talking about how he is going to do something no one has done before by making it no commercials for one show. Who gives a fuck?
Yeah, I would have preferred they not do the angle rather than get The Donald. Or get Flair. But I guess Flair can't give back to the WWE Universe AND make ET headlines.
I am glad Vince didn't do the whole giving back thing since it would have been his 1000th arbitrary face/heel turn. He's getting to be like Monty Burns with those trademark changes of heart. |
how long before trump names a gm i see trump geting board with this in 2 weeks, i do not see him being there every wneek. kind of wish he would name bischoff

Let's stick to the US, though. |
I was really hoping for bischoff or shane.

Not Trump. I was dreading the notion it might be Flair, but by comparison.... |
Exactly. I knew it would be someone boring...but Trump is just right out. It is like when someone is going to taco bell, and you give them a few bucks saying hey get me whatever this will buy. When they come back they give you a soda and 3 dollars in change.
It's like you're jerking off. You're sitting there, and you know what's going to be coming. But then a rabid dog bursts through the door and bites off your dick.
That's sort of like last night. |
It is like sneaking into your parents closet in mid december to see all your present, then on christmas morning, you get socks, a wrench set, and some really nice suits...and there is no sign of the x-box anywhere.
Fuck is going in here?
I am predicting that he will sell it back to Shane in exactly 1 year, when the 6/15/10 Raw will be on his 64th Birthday.
I'm predicting Trump leaves within two months, but not before plugging a new season of the Apprentice.

My main question really boils down to "to what end?" I mean, I guess the answer is "ratings," but maybe a little more of a plan? |
Donald Trump owning Raw is stupid, and was a huge let down. However, I'll admit I'm curious how long they go with this. Will Trump make appearances on the tron each week? (fuck knows he won't be there live each week).....and I have to admit I'd get a good laugh out of seeing Trump on the Raw Superstars page, if he makes it that far.
trump owning raw is interesting. God, why dont you fucks just STOP WATCHING RAW. Its like complaining that your mom's house is so hot but you wont move out. I respect opinions but first ppl dont want shit to be predictable and you got it. God damn, give it a shot first b4 you shit on it. You guys are sounding like vince/hhh/steph in a meeting in 2003 with good ideas.
You guys are missing the point. After watching the segment with Trump and Vince, It's obvious that Trump is exactly what the WWE universe needs. The most electrifying man in ZZZZZzzzzzzz...............
Johnny Vegas...we want things to be entertaining. Trump is not.
and how would you know if he hasnt had at least a month of his services
I'm noy sure if i get what you are saying. But I am sure you don't understand the comlaint.
Trump did a program with Vince. Bored the shit out of me.
Now he's back, and cuts a long ass promo that guess what. Bored the shit out of me. It may or may not be a good storyline, but for fuck sakes limit the mans mic time. |
Exactly, his rant/barking about how awesome he is and how awesome raw is now that he owns it was annoying and boring.
Was really hoping for JBL. That would have been amazing and a perfect fit.
I miss JBL. If he isn't going to wrestle anymore, that would have been a perfect opportunity to bring him back. |
I was just thinking JBL would have made sence even.
BDC, your problem is you need to lowr your standards to placate Johnny Vegas.
Sweet, no more BDC posts in the Wrestling forum. Now all we need is a ridiculous wrestling angle on Raw to get KK to stop posting in here.......
Jaun...i haven't posted in the wrestling forum for months already.
Oh I know
Dick hole.
This will lead to either John Cena or Triple H appearing on the next season of Celebrity Apprentice.
KK, why don't you become a writer for the WWE. Go ahead and put in a resume to the WWE, fly up to Conneticut to see Vince and discuss storylines with a cup of coffee. Maybe then we'll see how fucking brilliant you are not.
Kane Knight only writes shit nobody cares about.
Prolly next Apprentice will be for a job with WWE...they should have paid SCSA whatever he wanted to be RAW GM...that would have been freaking amazing!...or better yet....the new owner of Raw...Jeff Jarrett!!!!!!
Yeah, it's like the WWE were really trying to shock and deliver a huge announcement with this, but it just sort of feels flat. So Donald Trump "owns RAW." What does that mean? I don't get why I should watch now.
Also, I'm a bit confused as to how Donald Trump could actually own RAW. RAW is part of the "WWE Universe" isn't it? So Donald Trump owns RAW, does that mean it is no longer part of the WWE? If it's still part of the WWE, then what does that make Trump? He has no power on SmackDown! or ECW. To be honest, I just can't figure out how someone actually buying RAW away from Vince makes sense. I guess Trump would just own like 33% of WWE shares? I dunno. |
Its a fucking storyline.

A stupid story line.

I remember sitting there Monday when Vince first spoke (from his backstage "office" or w/e), and I was seriously thinking he'd "sold" RAW to Ted Turner.

I also thought it could've been a great storyline if they'd've gone with Ted DiBiase, Sr. or something... |

Ive only watched one Raw and one ECW since Wrestlemania. I happen to tune in to see Trump and it actually makes me want to tune in next week to see where they go with it.
I wonder if we'll get new theme music, new sets, new graphics, etc. Would be an ideal time to reboot the raw franchise tbh.
Didn't they just reboot raw anyhow?
It's Trumpamaniaaaaaa!
