Two PPV Retitles...

World Wrestling Entertainment has changed the names of several upcoming PPVs.

The 10/4 No Mercy event is now re-titled "Hell in A Cell". WWE had been toying with doing a Hell in A Cell-themed PPV for several weeks with the top matches featuring the company's top gimmick match. Where that leaves the planned Randy Orton vs. Triple H Hell bout that at one point was planned for Summerslam is unknown at this time.

The Cyber Sunday gimmick PPV also appears to be out the window at first glance, as the 10/25 PPV has been re-titled "WWE Annihilation."

Well that fucking sucks if what they say about Cyber Sunday is true...I really liked the feeling of at least the illusion that I was "in charge" for one night out of the year, even if I wasn't.:(

A Hell in the Cell themed ppv :lol: ?! I can't wait for the matches to be announced.

Yeah. I pointed that out off the original article a couple weeks ago from the front page with the list of 4 possible names being sent to people to vote on the PPV's name. Plus, there's good reason to believe that they will probably not have the whole pay-per-view be HiAC matches, just the world title matches.

This sounds like a horrible idea Hell In The Cell is one of the few gimmick matches that still means something and that is only because its used only once or at the most twice a year. Having more then one match on the card in the Cell will completely devalue it, plus the name "Hell In The Cell" for a PPV sounds like we're back in the age of In Your House PPV's.....

I'm okay with having the HIaC highlight a PPV in the main event, as long as the HIaC isn't every match.

Someone here once mentioned 'fish on a pole' match. That could work for the whole PPV.

I doubt if all the matches will be HIAC. Not all matches at the Royal Rumble are Royal Rumbles.

If they are trying to add a theme to every PPV I don't get ditching Cyber Sunday in favor of a generic name. Cyber Sunday was a joke, but it already had the theme. Somebody in Naming Resources didn't get the memo.

Well, Naming resources is pretty far down the line. WWE.com is actually higher on the list...

And Joey Styles is in charge of WWE.com. That shows how low it is.

One positive I will say is that I'm interested in seeing how HIAC works with different match formats besides 1 on 1. The 6 man at Armageddon was pretty entertaining and yet way too hard to keep track of. A tag match or triple threat in the cell could be interesting.

I like WWE Annhilation way better than Cyber Sunday, so I'm glad about that change. Can't say I'm too happy about "WWE Hell in a Cell," though. I guess it could maybe sell a few DVDs and get a few buys, though. I wish they'd let the Hell in a Cell match grow out of the feud, and not just have one for the hell of it.

I am so sure that we will have a HHH-Orton match at HIAC. Maybe we may get to see Orton's new trend of winning the belt, grabbing it and hurrying to the backstage area for reasons unknown.

I'm actually happier to already have my tickets to Annihilation than Cyber Sunday. WWE is (hopefully) gonna admit that the marks really only had one choice in any given match, so why bother with the farce.

I just hope they let me in the door, because my tickets say "Cyber Sunday"...
