Seth Green? :wtf:

http://www.wrestleview.com/news2009/...php?style=dark

WWE.com has announced that Seth Green (actor and creator of "Robot Chicken") will be the special guest host for this Monday night's edition of WWE Raw in Orlando, FL.

Here is the full statement issued by WWE:

<font color=goldenrod>Meh, not too bothered by it. It was pretty clear they were gonna be bringing in non-wrestling related people for this eventually, and I wasn't expecting Vince to go all out to get A-listers.</font> :o

Londoner 07-11-2009 10:16 AM

LOL

Seth82 07-11-2009 10:38 AM

Seth Green hasn't been relevant for 10 yrs since he had that bit part in Austin Powers

Rob 07-11-2009 11:26 AM

They could have done a lot worse.

Seth82 07-11-2009 11:27 AM

True they could have

Knowing Vince I woulda guessed it woulda been Kevin Federline who never was relevant besides being Mr Britney Spears

Nark Order 07-11-2009 11:40 AM

Well, to be fair... Everyone I know my age absolutely fucking loves Seth Green. Looks like they may be catering to the 18-25 demographic this week.

What are you talking about, Robot Chicken is the best work he's ever done. Not to mention he does the voicework on one of the arguably most popular cartoons in America atm.

Might tune in to see what kind of nonsense ensues.

thedamndest 07-11-2009 12:55 PM

Narc, you need some new friends.

Nicky Fives 07-11-2009 12:57 PM

I am begging for a cameo appearance by Greg The Bunny.....

Xero 07-11-2009 12:58 PM

Am I crazy for feeling that they should be using former wrestlers in this and not completely random celebrities?

ministrychick77 07-11-2009 01:00 PM

no xero, you're not.

but this is wwe we're talking about. they dont usually do things that make sense..

TSI 07-11-2009 01:01 PM

i love seth green but this is a little silly to say the least

You don't like him so nobody in the world should or does like him. Yeah, I get it.

Well, I think they said from the beginning that they would be doing both.

Supreme Olajuwon 07-11-2009 02:11 PM

There's nothing wrong with Seth Green, but as the first celebrity host? Seems like a pretty lackluster tone to set for this concept.

thedamndest 07-11-2009 02:14 PM

I didn't say I didn't like him. I just think "absolutely fucking loves Seth Green" is a pretty extreme statement to be throwing around. I'm sure your friends are actually very lovely people.

Dave Youell 07-11-2009 02:22 PM

He looks like the kind of guy who'd be a wrestling fan,

Hopeful he can be half decent.

Can't be any worse than that black cancer patient kid that Foley got to do the job once

Xero 07-11-2009 02:23 PM

lol I remember thinking they were going to turn that into a heel angle.

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

Xero 07-11-2009 02:29 PM

You're all brainwashed.

Supreme Olajuwon 07-11-2009 02:31 PM

I mean this is a brand new concept that is supposed to entice people to tune in. I'm sorry but Seth Green is not enticing anybody to do anything.

Seth Green is a good choice for later down the road after you've already had a number of successful shows and drawn a larger audience and people will say "ok he's kinda interesting so I will continue to tune in." But he's not a guy that's going to make people tune in who otherwise wouldn't.

Nark Order 07-11-2009 02:31 PM

So the media portrayal and the roles that Seth Green plays have conditioned you all to hate him. THINK FOR YOUR FUCKING SELVES! YOU'RE ALL BRAINWASHED.

Juan 07-11-2009 02:31 PM

Seth Green, nice. I'm looking forward to it.

#1-norm-fan 07-11-2009 02:37 PM

LOL. Well Vince had surprised me at least. I seriously thought they would go the Kevin Federline-type route when it came time to actually go with some "celebrities." This is a fine coo, IMO. He's definitely not a bottom of the barrel celebrity and the younger crowd for the most part actually enjoys his work. Good job WWE. :y:

Definitely has me looking forward to Raw.

St. Jimmy 07-11-2009 03:26 PM

I hope Seth eats an RKO.

ClockShot 07-11-2009 04:17 PM

Seth Green. As much as I like the guy, he's got nothing better to do?

I sure hope that Mass Effect 2 is ready then. If not, he better get his ass back in the studio.

My thoughts exactly. Which is why I think this is a great coo for WWE.

It's like if Tom Cruise were announced as the guest host. Everyone would be like "WHAT!?!? He's got NOTHING better to do!?!?"

Obviously an extreme comparison but if someone like Kevin Federline or Kato Kaelin or John Bobbitt were hosting, no one would be like "He has nothing better to do!?!?!"

So again, good job, Vince. I applaud you. :y:

James Steele 07-11-2009 04:41 PM

I think this will be interesting considering Family Guy and Robot Chicken are very popular among the "forgotten demographic" in WWE.

As long as they have the Robot Chicken soundtrack for his Titon-tron entrance and music, it's all good.

Who ever needs to spell the word "coo"? Honestly. Fuck it. One misspelled word in ten years. lol

DAMN iNATOR 07-11-2009 10:26 PM

Man, after what DiBiase said about Dusty last week I was fully expecting to see "The American Dream" host RAW this week. Now my dreams have been crushed.:(

I do hope they stick around after WM XXVI in Phoenix, AZ for the whole week of tapings as they have done in the past as it would open the door for a one time special host who lives in the area...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/rg9lgAl0sTA&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/rg9lgAl0sTA&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

But IF they ever let him Guest Host, that would be the ideal time to do so (the night after Mania), otherwise I'll probably just be like "MEH"...

Seth82 07-11-2009 10:30 PM

That'd be kinda cool to see The Bisch host RAW again if only for one night

KayfabeMan 07-12-2009 03:31 AM

Maybe WWE used former SD! 'writer' Freddie Prinze Jr. for a 'Hollywood' connection.

Seth is a good friend of Sarah Michelle Gellar's since back on BTVS. She has even done a number of voice spots for Robot Chicken, and I think Freddie may have even been on an episode [but I may be wrong about him]. So I'm sure they used him to obtain Seth Green or Seth wanted to promote some of his shit and Freddie got him hooked up to do WWE.

Just a possibility. Although now that I mention it, some internet writer will pick it up and report it as fact :shifty:

DAMN iNATOR 07-12-2009 03:40 AM

I would laugh if one night they went with naked mideon...fanny pack and all.:shifty:

Volare 07-12-2009 02:15 PM

Honestly, WWE should try to talk to Dana White and see if they can get Brock Lesnar. Think about it, you have the UFC Champion back with the program that started it all, and UFC could grab more fanfare from the wrestling community that they don't have.

Afterlife 07-12-2009 03:06 PM

I think this will be very interesting.
